In February 2009, his second month in office, Barack Obama changed official policy to allow photos of dead US soldiers. The LA Times reported:
"The Obama administration has decided to open the gates of Dover. In a policy to be unveiled today, Pentagon officials told reporters, Defense Secretary Robert Gates the only holdover from the Bush administration will announce that news photos of flag-draped coffins will be allowed, as long as families agree."
But, this week Barack Obama announced that he would not release photos of dead Osama Bin Laden. The White House said:
There are sensitivities here in terms of the appropriateness of releasing photos of Osama Bin Laden
because of the sentitivities
Does it serve or harm our interests domestically and locally. It could be inflammatory.
To Obama, dead US soldiers are infidel crusaders and Osama is a martyr.

We don’t care about the sensitivities of US military families as much as we care about Muslims
Obama has no respect for dead Americans, but goes out of his way to make sure Osama got respect. My son, who is in the ANG, spent two weeks a few years ago, greeting our dead soldiers. He said it was the hardest thing he has ever done, and when he stood at attention as the caskets went by, tears automatically fell. He was not alone. And then, there were the families, whose grief was immeasurable. My son said those haunted faces of loved ones will always be etched in his brain. This is a sacrilege toward the military, and Obama shows a disregard, not only for our soldiers, but for their families and everyone who loves them.
As we talk on this forum, at this very moment hundreds or thousands of Islamists are vowing revenge and undoubtedly a number of them are planning on going ahead with it. That’s with no pictures released. So releasing pictures is going to inflame them? Hey gang, they’re already inflamed. We’re back to the “don’t make them mad” argument basically shutting down free speech so we won’t offend these nuts. Unfortunately, Dennis Prager and Neil Boortz have bought into this nonsense.
