Whomever started this rumor apparently never heard of the Goldwater-Nichols Act. It's quite clear, and every combatant commander in the US Armed Forces knows exactly what it says. If Leon Panetta told an UCC to pick up a piece of paper, let alone execute a raid in a foreign country, he would be instructed to do something to himself that is biologically impossible.
In the US, military officers only take orders from one civilian - that's the SecDef, and SecDef only takes orders from CIC. It's not policy, it's federal law.
Not according to Judge Denise Lind.
According to Judge Denise Lind the lawfulness of a brigade commander’s orders has NOTHING to do with there being lawful, Constitutional Presidential orders. Totally irrelevant, she said.
Obama made this bed; by golly he better lie in it.
That’s all I have to say. I’m out.
Uh, the Director of the CIA never operates militarily? Righteeyo boss... lessee, there was this war in Vietnam? And this program called Phoenix? And before and since then... let me count the ways... LOL...
But hey, don't let me slow you down - the show is great!

What if they know CIC is illegal? What then?
