There has been a lot of speculation as to what the post-mortem photos of Osama bin Laden, that the Obama administration has refused to release, show. Member of Congress, however, are being allowed to view them at CIA Headquarters.
The first member of Congress to view them according to Fox Report anchor Shepard Smith was Oklahoma Republican Sen. James Inhofe. Inhofe appeared on Smiths show and told him that the photos are gruesome.
They are gruesome, of course, because it was taken right after the incident, he said. And so, of the 12, three of them were older pictures so that we could actually compare what he looked like when he had the black beard and what he looked like after he was killed. And that was part the good way of making that presentation. Then they had some of his ear. Now, what had happened in those, I couldnt tell whether the bullet went through the ear and out the eye cavity or through the eye and out the ear because a lot of brains were draped out from the socket. But it clearly what we saw there was it was him. There is no question he was dead. But, the more revealing pictures really were the ones on the USS Vinson and the North Arabian Sea.
Inhofe then revealed details about the photos that have not been made public yet that bin Laden was in his underwear at the time of his death.
See, the beard is a moving target because he dyes it all the time, Inhofe said. And the pictures we had older pictures had a black beard. His beard this time was a little bit shorter and it was more salt-and-pepper. You could tell its probably the actual color of the beard. Now, what he was dressed in, some of these were just headshots so you only had the head shot. Only two of them showed that he was partially, I would say you would call underwear on, that was about it.
Inhofe explained that despite some of the reports that his skull was partially gone, that was not the case based on his viewing of the photos.
It appeared that way at first, Inhofe said Then when you saw the other pictures later, you could tell it wasnt that way. Now, what happened was if the bullet went into the eye socket, then it was an explosive, it detonated once it was in so that caused the brain to come back out of the eye socket. Thats what made it look so gruesome.

No suicide vest?
Osama was wearing salwar kameez when he was killed: NYT
When US commandos found Osama bin Laden in the house in Abbottabad in Pakistan, he was wearing a ‘salwar kameez’ or what is known as a Pathan suit, and he resisted before he was shot above the left eye, the New York Times has reported.
As much as I like the Senator, he and the other folks in DC are NOT my betters.
I want to see the photos.
Mother always said to have clean underwear on because you never know when you’re going to be shot.
Well, I guess that would dispense with the administration’s “We had to shoot him because he might have been wearing a suicide vest” excuse. How much you wanna bet that is why they didn’t want to release these photos to the public?
Another of the seventy-two versions bites the dust.
So, all the people who have telling me that the SEALS had no excuse but to pump a couple of bullets into an unarmed man’s head because he might have been wearing a suicide vest can kiss my butt. The line goes out the door and around the block.
They shot this guy because that was the order. There was no self-defense justification.
Our government’s policy seems to be that if they want you dead bad enough, they can send soldiers into your bedroom and shoot you as you stand in your underwear. Duly noted.
Explosive 9mm projectiles? Why bother? Wouldn't an expanding 9mm HP [entering an eye socket] cause brain matter to find an exit: eye socket.
I don’t BELIEVE this. Does anyone in the Obama administration or Congress understand that national security requires they NOT blather about anything they think might get them the media attention they constantly crave? Did it occur to Senator Inhofe that members of the Religion of the Perpetually Offended are going to fly into their usual rage and start killing innocent people when this get this information?
I just hope Senator Inhofe didn’t hurt himself in his race to the first microphone he could find after seeing the pictures.
I am so disgusted.
Shot in his underware and brains came out of eye socket.
HA !
That's crazy talk. /sarc
“...bin Laden was in his underwear at the time of his death.”
Boxers or briefs?
Depends.
But was he hiding a gun?
Wait til we get our Hanes on you.
LOL!!!!....................
And that was before "We can shoot you any time we want just because we want to" became official US government policy.
I couldnt tell whether the bullet went through the ear and out the eye cavity or through the eye and out the ear because a lot of brains were draped out from the socket.

Oh. My. God.
We have here, folks, another Magic Bullet!
No doubt fired from the Grassy Knoll.
In bin Laden's case, I wouldn't have cared if they brought along a turkey fryer, fired it up and dunked him headfirst into it.
You are picking the wrong fight here. Congress authorized lethal force against bin Laden long ago.
Nope. Unarmed in his underwear standing in his own bedroom. Deader ‘n hell.
“Shot in his underware and brains came out of eye socket.”
He was shot in his underwear?
Now that’s hitting below the belt.
Thanks! Now I have to replace my keyboard.
It’s ok to kill a terrorist in the buff as long as you don’t waterboard them. That would be inhumane.
Pray for America
The question is: How much later?
I am sure the SEALS stripped the body quickly as they looked for intel, papers, computer disks, thumb-drives, etc, as well as checked the body for weapons and yes, a bomb-vest.
I suspect he was dressed somewhat and after the shoot and after a quick look for weapons, bombs and intel, the photographer was allowed to photograph the body.
It was a joke. Did you see “Full Metal Jacket”?
Oh, I understand wanting this guy dead. I understand authorizing lethal force. Obviously this was a hazardous situation.
But an authorization to use lethal force and an order to kill somebody are two different things. Even Panetta, when he was doing his best Dirty Harry impression talking about how this was a “Kill Mission” said that if bin Laden had been standing there helpless in his underwear, the SEALs would have captured him.
Now we find out he was standing there helpless in his underwear.
Given the weapon used, the range at which it was fired, and the area in which it impacted -- and given the possibility that it was a double tap as many reports said -- I find it surprising that the skull remained intact.
I would bet that from the time it took to pull the trigger until the bullet impacted his skull, clean vs. soiled, became a moot point.
Hey, I think the Obama Admin has accomplished the impossible - screwed up the aftermath of a successful raid to kill bin Laden. But I don’t see this as any kind of indication that they now have the unbridled power to cap anyone, anywhere. bin Laden was a long-standing authorized target of lethal force.
Well, this raises an obvious question: boxers or briefs?
One more reason to release the photos!!!
Hollow point bullets aren't allowed for mil use, per the Geneva convention.
It was a clean shoot:

Say the secret word and divide 100.00 dollars!
Bullets only perform magic in the eyes of those totally ignorant of ballistics. When bullet and bone meet, strange things happen.
OK so we are all adults post a pic and let the rest of America feel sure the SOB is dead. The Muslim world is already inflamed. Showing a pic isn’t going to make it any worse.
Jeepers, Creepers, where’d you’d get them peepers?
Jeepers, Creepers, where’d you’d get them eyes?
Gosh all git up, how’d they get so lit up?
Gosh all git up, how’d they get that size?
Golly gee! When you turn those heaters on, woe is me
Got to get my cheaters on, Jeepers Creepers
Where’d ya get those peepers? On, those weepers
How they hypnotize, where’d ya get those eyes?
Where’d ya get those eyes? Where’d ya get those eyes?
And it was reported earlier that he had money and telephone number sewn into his clothing. They were evidence.
Upon death the sphincters relax and it really doesn’t matter how clean your underwear was BEFORE that!
Do you object to people having security clearances?
“And that was before “We can shoot you any time we want just because we want to” became official US government policy.”
You say this like it is a bad thing! Foreign nationals not on U.S. soil have no rights under our Constitution and can (and should) be killed the very moment we deem them better off dead as a matter of U.S. foreign policy or war aims.
Moreover, in this particular case, the CIC of our military has full Congressional authorization to conduct war against anyone who planned or conducted or gave shelter aid or comfort to the 9-11 terrorists.
I am totally OK with that.
(ie, OBL as the target of a straight-up kill mission — an assasination, just like Yamamoto.)
You’re not?
Shot in back of head?
So much for explosive vest story.
He could have been naked and breastfeeding for all I care. He was a dead man walking since 9/11. My only regret is that it was too quick of a death for that dirt dog. I wished that he had been gut-shot and left to rot as his own s**t ate him alive.
I would be OK with him being doused in gasoline, lit on fire, and tossed out of a chopper hovering over Central Park on the 4th of July weekend to kickoff the fireworks show. But hey, maybe it is just me.
Inhofe: Gruesome photos reveal bin Laden in nothing but his underwear when shot
When the AC doesn’t work a guy has to keep cool, whoever it was they shot.
