The meats were like a bad joke gone bad. $7-10 for a small package of chicken breasts. I got enough food for a week and it was $107. The cashier lady told me some woman (when she noticed) milk at $4 a gallon asked if there was s milk shortage. Are people this stupid?
I am truly afraid for this country in so many ways and as the cashier lady said she told the ditz lady it will get far worse before it gets better. And the cashier was in her 20's and she figured this out- so there is some hope this age group knows to vote out Impeach Obama NOW!
Not to worry. Obama says there’s no inflation.
I saw a $15 2lb fryer last week.
People looked at me like I was crazy when I complained.
It is all connected to the high gas prices
Has anyone noticed the price of a candy bar? $1~now that is highway robbery!
Did you happen to notice how much the M&Ms were?
$4-$6 for a pound of Bacon this weekend.
HOPEY CHANGEY!!
(I HOPE! you don’t starve to death before Republicans can CHANGE! the economy back!
That is exactly why Restaurants are suffering...
Food cost is so “out of whack” that they cannot justify thier prices to attract customers....
We have no become a “hamburger helper” society as everyone I talk to is eating just the basics.
I saw the little cooking chickens (the fryers) and they were outrageous. $11-15! I remember when you could get a small chicken fryer (@ Walmart) for $3-4 and this was 3-4 years ago.
Can't say why that should be so, but he's right.
Hey OBAMA -- GET OUT OF SARAH'S HOUSE!
I pay $2.49 a gallon here in California.

I hear you on the chicken and beef thing. I've found those large bags of frozen, skinless chicken breasts are way cheaper than fresh, and just about as good; even for grilling.
I have a mother in law, who votes as her husband says, democrat every time... who complains about gas and grocery prices to me, and has no clue what so ever that her vote for Barry Hussein Obama is the reason we are all suffering high prices and a low dollar. I said to her, things will be bad until we get this communist out of The White House and she didn’t want to “get into that”.
We can only hope that enough of the electorate at least says “am I better or worse off than I was 4 years ago?” and they go with that.
So much of the country are mouth breathin’ idiots. But still, paying so much for electricity, gas, food, they gotta know that it’s this administration that’s killing us.
I think Imam Obama is a one termer. The Misery Index hasn’t been this bad since Carter. I think it’s even worse now.
M&M’s and all other check out candy were $1.09.The Cokes and Dr Pepper’s at the checkout were $1.89 for ONE fricking coke and that was a $ale.
Does not help that the mimimum wage went up 40% just since 2007...
Wait. Where did you find the gas money to drive to the grocery? You rich or something? ;)
Don’t you worry about it... it’s ok that oil is $25 a *barrel* less and gasoline is still up to over $4 a gallon... all that matter is that Obama says it’s all getting better!!!
Sarcasm aside, thank God our 20 somethings are getting, and yet sad that our probably voting 30 somethings are idiots.
We paid $5 bucks for a gallon of milk, and the same for a pound of butter.
Anyone else having trouble finding SALTED peanuts at Walmart? So glad the government is looking out for our health........
Sorry, not buying it. It’s nearly $4 a gallon here in Georgia where it’s typically a lagging state for inflation. I call BS on your $2.49 in California unless it’s a promotion to lure you in to other over priced items.
Got the milk at Food Lion. The cashier said the milk hike in price happened today. If I drove to the Piggly Wiggly or WalMart the money I would save; I would lose in gas. We are still at $3.85 a gallon for gas when other northern states are at $4.19 and climbing.
I’m paying almost that for milk, around $3.75. I get chicken for less, but I get the Really Large Package or hit the “use or freeze today!” sale. I got pork roasts for 75% off last week.
Sticky note campaign!
Boneless, skinless chicken breasts were on sale at the grocery this am. I bought 10 lbs, grilled them and they will soon be in the freezer for easy meals over the next few weeks.
Yeah, we’re spending approx. $125/week for food at the grocery store when we used to spend about $80-90/wk last year. Not to mention that we are trying to be more cost-conscious now. And let’s not forget the doubling of the gasoline price. But there’s no inflation, the goobermint told me so!
He's in Alaska? I assume you mean Palin.
Is he in some other Sarah's house?
Why would he be in somebody's house?
Why are you spreading the ultra-right wing hate speech? We all know that the unemployment rate is like 1.2% but some of you with you right-wing hate speech say no it’s really 18% and now you are here on this sight spreading this hate speech full of lies, there is no inflation, it’s price gouging at the store, yea that’s it price gouging.
End sarcasm
No it is the regular price when you buy two gallons, (I freeze one), even Albertsons is about $2.89 if you buy two.
Just think, however, that Harry Reid got reelected with all of these factors in play. The Dems will lie, steal, cheat and do anything to win. Will the GOP?
Now Walmart is carrying the Planters HealthNut packages — at about $6.50 for 7 little packages.
Highway robbery.
California milk prices are controlled by the state. Not a free market then again it is california.
I paid 2.69 at trader joe’s
I becha long-haul truckers are pushing $4,000 for fuel in the past month alone. The previous one, I have evidence it was $3,500.
And we’re not talking maintenance.
I just paid $2.29 a gallon for 2% milk at Tom Thumb (local Safeway brand in parts of Texas). That's with the affinity card discount.
Alot of restaurants are reducing protions to cut costs.....
No, sadly, they won’t get it. They will hear the MSM who tells them that “greedy Republicans” are the reason for all the ills of the world. Sorry your in-laws are idiots.
Oh, and Republicans don’t help, so neither party cares, but to think one party or another is the reason is just stupid. Sorry Freepers, I’m a conservative, not a Republican. Seems the McCains and Grahams have proved that.
Be sure and let autumnraine know, she thinks that we are making up how much we pay for milk.
What State are you in?
I saw whole chickens at the grocery store this week for $.69 per lb.
Bought tomatoes for $.99 per lb. Bought cabbage at $1.00 for 5 lbs.
I see some price increases like bacon. But generally it is not that bad here yet. (bought 10 lb. box of “irregular sliced” bacon for $25.00)
Now, we did plant twice as much garden as last year. That seems to be doing well. And I put out 29 new fruit trees, blueberry and blackberry bushes and a bed of strawberries.
ansel12 is right...
I am in NC.
I've noticed in the last couple of weeks, that the hash browns and biscuits I'm getting from McDonalds taste completely BLAH. I looked at the last hash brown I got & there was not salt on it at all. Has anyone else noticed this?
Where I am, a Hershy’s bar is $1.25 only when it is on sale. Almost bought one yesterday, but at that price I just said screw it. Don’t need it that bad.
Milk is 2 for $5 where I am.
I have noticed that fast food is becoming cheaper all the time. With grocery prices, electricity to cook it, clean up afterwards, and time involved, suddenly a $10 for a pizza or $6 for a double whopper is not as bad a deal as it once was. With prices going as they are, its almost economical to eat out. They can buy it and cook it cheaper than it would cost me to do it. Especially if you use coupons and look for sales. Its a weird economy right now.
The economic trainwreck engineered by soros/obamugabe is based on the same model used in Zimbabwe by Robert Mugabe. People still don’t get it. US wealth is being redistributed out of the country.
Hey, but Herman Cain working at the Federal Reserve to devalue your money and purchasing power is totally cool.
Funny how that statistic remains true. When I got out of the navy in 1995 milk and gas were both $0.89 each. It used to cost me around $10 to fill up the car. Now I ride my bicycle as much as possible.
Sorry, I call BS on you.
This ad shows Albertsons as $4.50 a gallon...

The best way of knowing what is going on, is to get 5-10 friends who live in different places around the US, and ask them to, once a week, note the price of several different common things, on an agreed upon list with standard rules. Create a blog for just them and you.
For example, 2% milk, and the lowest price for a gallon the store offers. Also note if there is a sale or special price.
After doing this for a few months, it should be very clear what is happening in the national economy, as far as food is concerned.
