- To be perfectly honest, I'm sick and tired of people of lesser intelligence and historical teaching who fail to understand just why they can go and enjoy a hamburger at a mall without the fear of their family being targeted by V2 rockets.
A close reltive of mine fought the troops of Stalin, got shot, recovered and then went back to the front.
Another one drove buses from Sweden to Nazi concentration camps and back.
I'm no hero. I was born in 1969.
But I regard my ancestors of that time heroes. They fought Hitler, Stalin and saved lives.
Millions of people have stories to tell that resemble mine. My family is in no way unique.
Far too seldom, American and European families get together and simply talk about our common past.
If we did once in blue moon, our 16 year old kids perhaps wouldn't be hating each other over the Internet as much as they seem to do today (for no proper reason).
Together, we and our families defeated evil and together, we created a standard of living - not only in a mere material sense - that Humanity never had seen before.
Civilization is not just another word.
Read Cicero, Petrarch, Goethe and Schiller. Study what Einstein studied and learn a little about the fascinating business world of today as well as that of politics. Don't label it off as "boring".
Do you claim to be out of that league? You're wrong.

Because we Humans understand how to play games!
Meaningful games that is.
Life perhaps could be seen as a game. But actually, it isn't a "game" in sense we often use this word. It's not about predictabile stories evolving. "Enterprise" I guess is a better word.
It's about surving struggles and becoming whom you whish to be - and making whatever difference you wish to make in the World surrounding you.
Many of the Jews Hitler successfully exterminated were never given that chance.

Not when I occasionaly confront unscrupulous non-European women though.
But as a reflecting individual with a conscience and someone with an ancestry I bother.
There is evil in this World, but you don't have to play along.
Sweden traded with the Nazis, yes, but so did the US. But we Swedes also aided Finland when it was attacked by Soviet and no one else dared to supply them..
It's estimated that Sweden aided Finland with arms and other goods that made up to roughly 50% or even more of their annual GDP during the Winter War years.
I'm a well built, blue-eyed, blonde Swedish guy of 41. I'm proud of my Viking ancestry, but that doesn't make me a Fascist.
My grandparents weren't Nazis just because they occasionally feasted on German chocolate bars during the last World War.
Killing munks and raping nuns isn't exactly my hobby. Sooner, I'd like to do something to protect civilians from such atrocities. Guess I could at least donate to the Red Cross - why not?
But men could also hinder other men from evil deeds in a more direct manner.
Next time you witness someone behaving like a Nazi, a Jihadist or a rapist, give him something to reflect upon - preferably in a coma.
Stand up against evil.
Because Socialists won't.
I admire the relatives of mine who fought the Soviet Union and the other ones who jumped aboard lanky, white painted vehicles almost 70 years ago saying: "-Hey, let's do something for these people that this idiot Hitler thought he just could kill off!".
Be a part of History.
Fight evil.
Because, unfortunately, evil won't simply go away by itself.

Well said! Don’t read history—make it. Don’t see evil and close your eyes—change it. There was lots of evil in the 1930s and 40s but there is almost as much today. You can sit back and do nothing or get up from the couch and do something.
- All of us, whether we are Americans, Europeans, Asians or whatever should seek guidance in the manner America fights evil.
USA is a great source of inspiration to all of Mankind.
Trough living up to its promises and manifest believes, even after wars already were won, the boldest of continents also has proved itself as the the most honest and reliable one.
We have different backgrounds and should be able to laugh at each other in a friendly fashion, but whenever ignorants in my corner of the Earth raise their voices to slander USA in a bad tongue (or whatever to call it) I always confront them in a way and line of thought like this; (- my translation into English might not fulfill the highest of requirements, but anyhow:)
- Where would those words of your today echo if good hearted sons of Ohio, Mississippi and Oregon would not once had picked up their swords?
I'm not not ashamed of being European, but I am ashamed of certain Europeans.
Luckily enough, such Europeans do not represent us as a continent and furthermore everyone could be taught how to distinguish between right and wrong, good and evil (- But some people you just have to threat smashing their skulls in by heavy machinery few men could even lift don't you?..)
Why do English, French, German, other European troops, Asian and African soldiers today fight side by side with the US?
One reason, of course, is we wish to protect our own nations from terrorism.
But let it also be known to each and every American and to everyone around this Globe who has a heart that Humanity, at large, does not accept what happened to America on the 11th of September in the year of 2001.
Stop thinking America is hated.
Only Muslim and Communist terrorists truly hate USA.
I'm proud my country often is the subject of appreciation by Americans - and as I true friend of USA, I wish to share the dark moments.
Over here in Sweden, people had to comfort and attend to infants who were in shock because children's TV was interrupted by news of the attack on the WTC, making children think it was happening in their own neighborhood..
How did American ones react?
I just can't imagine..

Next thing that happened, from a Swedish perspective, was that we Swedes gave our support in a lot of speeches, articles and so forth. But anyone who wish to say Europe in general or Scandinavia in particular is all about plain words and does not, in proper deed, express sympathy with USA and the idea of freedom it stands for is severely mistaken.
By Today, most European countries participate in the WOT.
Not because anyone working at Pentagon told us to do so, but because we happen to yearn for, celebrate and enjoy the very same things all people do;
Freedom,
Liberty
and Independence!
We Europeans say it far to seldom; but I'd like to start a new trend here. Not because Obama is black, your architecture is mind-boggling, your movies are thrilling and your chili recipes are awesome, but because you simply deserve to hear these words from across the Atlantic a little more often being the best of allies, sisters and brothers any other corner of the World could wish for:

I think it's pretty clear where Sweden's sympathies lay, to the extent that a country can have sympathies. BTW, Norwegians are making asses of themselves with their groveling to the Palestinians.
Up there in Scandinavia, if I understand it, this Palestinian groveling is hypocritical postering, because to them, even a Greek is considered black. It’s more about a proudful little worship tree or totem with little piggies drawn on them.
Naturally, we didn't exactly approve of what happened to Denmark and Norway as Hitler advanced north, but also being sworn enemies of Russia, as well as friends of the Germans and viewing them as a Nordic brother nation since long (which they in fact always will remain) from a cultural, economical, historical and also MILITARY point of view few bothered. In parts of Sweden that did a lot of trade with Britain and the US (like Gothenburg and the rest of the West Coast), political, cultural and media opposition to the Nazis was much stronger, often even fierce; on certain occasions even so outspoken Göring and other Nazi leaders successfully tried to make Swedish authorities censor the verbal assaults on the Nazis (while Swedish economy kept aiding German assaults on the rest of the continent).
Anyhow, during the last months of WWII, Sweden could’ve done much more.
Sweden had over 500 000 men mobilized and a smoothly running arms industry - while Nazi Germany laid in ruins.
There were plans on freeing Norway and Denmark, but we decided not to fight.
Right or wrong?
My answer is that we could’ve afforded to at least do something, despite the threat from the USSR.
But in another way, it's understandable if Sweden in those days didn't wish to expose itself to both raving Nazis and Communists.
This in no way means we don't care about the fate of Norway and Denmark. We do - and many Swedes are ashamed we did so much less than we could have done for the sake of freedom. I am one of them

While Scandinavians, especially Swedes perhaps, look up to Southern European accomplishments like those of Archimedes, Brunelleschi and Columbus, we would never trust them as our car mechanic.
Thanks for your appreciation for what this country has historically been and done. Were we not who we are, founded on the principles we espouse, we could have conquered and controlled the world. We didn’t because we seek freedom for everyone.
However, for over 100 years the Communists from Russia, later the USSR, have been slowly accomplishing what they could not do with their military, take over the USA. Our present administration is the culmination of that effort. If we can survive a couple of more years we will be rid of Obama and back to where we have always been. I hope the world can still respect America after all the harm Obama is doing.
I also warn you that those nice, peaceful Socialists and Muslims in your country have the same thing in mind for you as they do for us. They intend to take you over and change you into them. Beware!
LOL. The strange lazy aristocracy of the Southern states are laced with strange drugs that sometimes gave some of those the right amount of impotency to actually help them think about something. The oppressive nature of their out of control culture produced such "persecuted" beings who had only math to content with as a result. A Russian mix Jew from Kiev once told me it must have to do with the sun's metabolics on them, because, in Israel, men are completely out of control in terms of sexual harassment, apparently.

LOL. I am an old guy who apparently traveled a different route than you. I am not familiar with any of that. Yes, I understand what you are saying but I have never heard those expressions.
Spending some times in “little Africa”, Paris, France, does this to you. You speak funny witch language like them.
Marxists and leftists have a tool we do not realize: they do not compromise on what they want or what they are like or feel like. They would rather die than compromise, and, hence, they seek to change. It is a very aggressive stance that gives leverage.
Frankly, anyone could become the leader of the world by playing up a world religion BS compromise in Jerusalem, but communists are not there to compromise but to determine and dominate, period, and thus the rape is completely assured. It’s a matter of checking their base, much like a tiger will wipe out entire areas before getting to their prefered prey.
One of Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals was that there were no rules for them, anything goes. Lying and cheating were encouraged. Whatever it takes to gain power is what they will do. Contrarily, he says to hold us, his enemies, to the highest possible standards and exploit every legal technicality that favors them and hurts us.
They fight a with a back-alley style while insisting we obey the Marquis de Queensbury Rules. Politics is a blood sport with them. It is statesmanship with us.
We need to learn a new style. Ignoring political correctness and the media would be a good start.
I think Sweden was invaluable to the U.S. and the West as bulkward against the Soviet Union in 1945. Getting bloodied fighting the Nazis in Norway (leave Denmark out of it, since that would put you on the Nazis home turf) might have provided valuable training for the Swedish army. Does the 500,000 man Swedish army total count only regular Army or does it also include reservists? That would have been a huge level of mobilization, comparable to what the U.S. did. (BTW, the U.S. devoted a considerably larger percentage of its GDP to the War effort in 1942-43 than Germany did. Hitler had a low regard for his enemies and was worried about his own popularity, so he never called for the sacrifices from the civilian population that Roosevelt and Churchill did, to say nothing of Stalin.)

What exactly are the Norwegians saying about the Palestinians? I haven’t seen much about Scandinavia in the news at all.
