There is little doubt that global socialism is on the march and arguably at its peak. America is closer to becoming a socialist state than any time in her history. For the first time we have a president whose world view is more in line with Karl Marx than George Washington.
President Obamas political career was launched in the living room of communist extremist and domestic terrorist, Bill Ayers. He has surrounded himself with more than forty Czars many of which profess to be Marxists and Maoists. In doing so he has been able to usurp Congress ability to perform its checks and balances on the executive branch because these czars report only to the president. Meanwhile there are cabinet members (that do report to congress) who still havent spoken to the president after more than two years in office.

The United States won the cold war. The Soviet Union went bankrupt.
I think the author is confusing the Soviet Union with evil in general.
Evil is not yet beaten and won’t be for a longtime to come.
The Soviet Union was beaten, but International Socialism, although demonstrated to be an absolute failure, lives on like an undead zombie, continuing to threaten us.
We had it won until the Dems got back in power.
“Did America Really Win The Cold War?”
I was asking myself that very question back in the late 90’s and into Y2K.
For example: Cuba: Who won the Missiles of October? Most say the US, however, the USSR got a promise from the US not to invade Cuba and to respect her sovereignty, thus they still had a base of operations in our Hemisphere.
Ultimately, we won the cold war. But as someone also mentioned, then came the Democrats into power...
Collectivism is still on the march. When the former Soviet Union collapsed the USA let its guard down and as a result the Socialization of America accelerated into overdrive!
Supposedly Obama and Cameron are comparing themselves to Reagan and Thatcher.
I want to know which one of them is wearing the dress.
The problem was that before the Soviet Union fell, leftists had planted themselves everywhere in academia, and had seized the levers of power. So the kids in our public schools and colleges have been brainwashed.
I still remember one odd experience at a meeting of a group of Milton scholars I belonged to. There were a couple of communists in the group, attracted to Milton because they considered him a revolutionary. (Yes, their way of teaching Milton was very distorted.)
Before we got down to business, we were all talking about the recent fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of Communism. But one of these Communist women then got up and explained that the problem was that Russia had tried Communism before they had ever really had capitalism. That was NOT what Marx ordered. You need capitalists and a properly developed proletariat, not a bunch of aristocrats and recently freed serfs.
So, she said, Russia needed to take 50 or 100 years or so to develop proper capitalism, and then they could have another Communist Revolution—this time done properly according to the Marxist model.
