How hopelessly at odds with America’s best interests is Barack Obama? Less than two weeks ago he declared his support for “political and economic reform in the Middle East,” warmly endorsing the “Arab Spring” uprisings there. Then Sunday, Muslim Brotherhood Sheikh Hazem Abu Ismail announced his candidacy for the presidency of Egypt, promising to transform Egypt into an Islamic state and go to war with Israel. Reform that would indeed be, but not the kind any American president should be applauding.

Maybe Obama is still listening to his ruinously incompetent Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, who at the height of the Egyptian uprising characterized the Muslim Brotherhood as “largely secular.” Secular they’re not, but they’re certainly influential, and Obama knows it: he specifically requested that Muslim Brotherhood representatives attend his speech in Cairo in June 2009.

Speaking in a mosque on Saturday, Abu Ismail said that he was confident of victory -- precisely because, unlike the other candidates, he presented a clear call to institute Islamic law in Egypt.

...Abu Ismail was sure all Egyptians would love his pro-Sharia platform: “If I could apply sharia in Egypt, all people, including non-Muslims, would applaud me four years later.” He also promised to go to war with Israel: “The Camp David peace treaty is insulting to the Egyptian people, so it must be canceled, and I will do my best to convince people to cancel it.”

...But now it appears that peace with Israel is no longer such a high priority. And it is no wonder that Abu Ismail thinks ripping up the Camp David accords is a winning issue. Last week the Tunisian Muslim Brotherhood leader Rachid Ghannouchi predicted that the “Arab Spring” would lead to the destruction of Israel.

Egypt Rushes Toward Sharia and War

Rushing to war is probably Israel's only hope, short of divine intervention. Right now the Islaminsts have Iran and Egypt locked up. But Iran can't get at Israel directly due to a US army being in Iraq. Syria is in turmoil and can't be counted on either way. Syria's turmoil greatly reduces the threat from Lebanon. So right now Israel would face Egypt largely one on one. They can win that fight, as they did in 1948, 1956, 1968 and 1973.

What Israel has to fear is a carefully coordinated attack from all directions. They just don't have the population to fight on all fronts for an extended period. But that type of coordination takes time. The islamists need to get the US army out of Iraq allowing Iraq and Iran to join the war. They need to get a compliant government in Syria allowing a second front in the north. If they could overthrow Jordan they could literally attack Israel from every point on the compass. But it will take them at least a year at the current rate to put all that into place. The islamists impatience and overplaying their hand may be the most powerful weapon in Israel's arsenal.

The citizens of the United States elected a President who attended a strict Muslim madrassa (parochial school) for two years. Our current Commander-in Chief, while an impressionable young boy between 6 and 10 years old, bowed down toward Mecca five times a day while praying to Allah. He studied the Koran, including Sura 7:166, Sura 2:65, and Sura 5:60 and its repeated calls for the transformation of Jews into apes and swine.

Barry Soetoro was indoctrinated, as were millions of young Muslim boys, in the same anti-Semitism that has always been taught in the Muslim madrassa's for the past thousand years.

Let's be very clear, Barry Obama surrounds himself with anti-Semitic advisors who relish the elimination of the Jewish state, attended a church for 20 years where the clergy spewed anti-Semitic hate, and now bows, scrapes and sends millions of US taxpayer dollars to Muslim countries and terrorist groups such as Hamas, who are the most lethal anti-Semites on the planet.

I heard a government official from Israel talk about Obama being a Muslim. He said the whole world knows this. Only America denies it.

Then, as every major Arab-Israeli War has demonstrated (the most recent Lebanon and Gaza Strip actions were not major wars), Israel will need timely and massive logistics support from the U.S. to survive.

Saw a disturbing report on French TV last night - all about the blasphemy charges accruing against Christians in Pakistan. Basically any muslim can (and does) accuse any Christian of blasphemy in Pakistan.

The Pakistan “street” picks up the gauntlet and starts running around like the crazed monsters that they are and starts looking for heads to cut off on the theory that their moon god must be appeased.

There are apparently a few voices of reason and moderation in Pakistan but they are sadly outnumbered.

The current cause celebre is “Asie Bibi” (I think is the name but maybe in English it would be “Asia Bibi” not sure) a young Christian girl who argued with two muslims over - get this - a glass of water while working in the fields. Now the whole country (just about) wants Asie, her family and any govt. official not in favor of death for infidels - DEAD.

These “people” are monsters.

1967, not 1968. And don't forget the "War of Attrition" in 1969-1970. That was a low-level conflict between Egypt and Israel, but has the distinction of having Israeli fighter pilots kicking Soviet butt. :)

I assume (hope) Obama needs approval from congress. This will not end well, especially if they are well funded. Not to mention it makes us less secure by adding to our debt

It is as*ine to push the US to borrow more money from China, or print it, so we can spend it on foreign counties. Egypt already has an army funded by us, that may now be in the hands of Muslim Brotherhood. There is something in the Koran about infidels paying a tax to Muslims.
