wow springfield mass is not known for this are they?
Many injuries have been reported.
No, not for servere weather like this. This stuff you would see in “tornado alley”. What surprised me was how the CT river became the scene of this big tornado.
To my knowledge, the last tornado outbreak in MA as bad as today’s was the Worcester tornado of June 3, 1953.
4 confirmed deaths. Hopefully no more. Last of the t-storms just moved through my part of MA(north shore) Constant lightning for at least 30 min....
According to some of the dirtbags in DU land, Alabama got hit because it was a red state.
Wonder what they think about this?
Correction: That was June 9, 1953.
I was a 6-yr old kid in Boston at the time. We drove out to see the damage.
Latest reports have 4 dead. God bless them.
That’s my old home town area .. worked in
Springfield and drove thru there on the way
to college every day. Very rare weather
calamity .. much severe damage.
Other thread from earlier this afternoon
Look for the DU fools to have a collective “hissy fit” tonight, tomorrow morning over this shocker to hit a blue state.
Have watched the river video 20 times or so; can’t get over how the inflow pulls spray out of the river. River looked like the Gulf of Mexico during a cat 5 hurricane (which is similar velocity).
I crossed that river every day when I lived there.
The powerful vortex of the tornado over the river is freaky.
I didn’t know they had Global warming back then?
I had often gone up to Springfield to go see the basketball hall of fame, both old and the much more newer building. Makes me wonder how much, if any damage hit that building.
You can bet that Obastard will be right there for a speech/photo op.
I got home about 6:30, and a couple of hours later, another storm came right over our house with really intense lightning, but almost no wind!
It was called weather back then.
Well it surprised me too when I saw what was going on at 4:30PM yesterday.
Last night saw lighting, and heard a little bit of thunder, but no rain in great Hartford area.
