Bachmann vs. Palin feud hits Twitter

A few weeks ago, I pointed out that a prominent Sarah Palin blogger had turned on Michele Bachmann. On Fox News Sunday this week, Palin pointed out that she, unlike Bachmann, had executive experience (though added that Bachmann had strengths, too). The feud was taken to a new level, however, when Bachmann’s new “celebrity” campaign manager, Ed Rollins referred to Palin as “not serious.”

This was too much for Palin supporter and talk radio host, Tammy Bruce who took to her Twitter feed. Bruce, who also appears in the new film about Palin, “The Undefeated,” Tweeted: “Palinistas, u know my theory Bachmann is a Stalking Horse/patsy for establishment, mission is to divide & distract, don’t fall for it”

Bruce also Tweeted: “I’m told Rollins, aka ‘Bachmann guy’ spent entire intv bashing Palin, not discussing where his candidate stands on issues. Weird.”

It will be interesting to see where this goes.

Earlier today, prominent conservative blogger Michele Malkin lamented the feud, Tweeting: “I hate to see Bachmann and Palin camps going at each other. Hate it.”

No good deed goes unpunished. Malkin must have received some push-back from Palin supporters, because she later Tweeted: “Pro-Palin friends, why are you picking a fight with ME? ‘Camp’ is a general term. Quit it w/the ‘they started it’ crap.”

That goes for all Repub candidates. I know I'll probably have to don the asbestos underwear for this, but if you support a candidate, make a positive case for that person! Stop tearing up the other guy/gal, because I guarantee that guy or gal has a constituency that your candidate will need in his/her coalition should he/she win the nomination. I have my own preferences for the nomination (Palin, Cain, Pawlenty are my top three, if you must ask), but I will vote for the Repub nominee, whoever he or she may be.

Since we’re asking questions, here are some for you:

Why is Bachmann attacking people who aren’t in the race and NOT attacking threats to conservatism like Mitt Romney who ARE in the race?

Why doesn’t Bachmann grow a spine and attack Palin herself instead of sending hired goons out to squawk on cable news channels?

It’s pretty weak tea to be turning this discussion into one about why Palin is waiting to announce. She doesn’t need to announce on your timetable or anyone else’s.

Rollins needs shown the door. Bachmann needs to say ‘what was I thinking,’ Palin ‘no harm no foul’ and go about taking over the White House and the House. Not bitc# slapping each OTHER!!!

Day one, a series of vile, media like attacks from the Bachmann campaign against Governor Palin, the first major turn into the gutter of the 2012 race, and oddly, it was all focused on the conservative female, not Mitt Romney.

Where is the evidence Bachmann is attacking conservatives or that she sent out Ed Rollins to attack Palin for her? I think she should part ways with him because I think he'll be more harm than good. But there is no evidence Bachmann is behind this so I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt.

And as long as people are touting Palin as our savior, the only one who can beat Obama I will keep asking when she's going to jump in. I would assume it won't be any time soon because when she does she'll no longer get free media from Fox while being on their payroll. I'm sure all the other candidates would love to get an 'exclusive' on Fox News Sunday while being paid by them at the same time.

I sent this email to Michele earlier today:

Palin Attack - Not You Too Michele!

I couldn't believe what i was reading. Michele Bachmann’s political consultant said what? All the time you have been saying the Governor is a friend. I thought you both stood for the same things. I am upset, surprised and angered that you have someone on your staff saying these things about Sarah. It's bad enough she gets attacked by the left, the liberals, the democrats and rinos but another constitutional conservative like yourself; well at least your staff? I'm stilled stunned by this.

Mr. Rollins must have been speaking on his own. This is all the left needs, to triple down on their attacks on not only the Governor but you as well. I definitely had you as a candidate who i would have no problem casting my vote for; but not so much now. I hope you clear this up Congresswoman. Having a healthy, spirited debate on the issues between you and Sarah is one thing, but if you indeed gave Mr. Rollins the go ahead to attack her, it makes you no better than those already relentlessly vilifying her.

I always looked at you as a cut above the other conservatives; who would not descend into the abyss of attacks on true fellow conservatives. This just doesn't sound like you or something you would condone. If there is no denouncing of Mr. Rollins attacks from you i have no choice but to believe that you agree with him; and this i cannot believe.

Evidence? She hired Ed Rollins. Ed Rollins immediately started attacking Sarah Palin. She has had all day to stop it or make a statement or fire him. All we've gotten is a weak statement from a campaign aide that won't cut the mustard. There's your 'evidence', so please stop making yourself look like a dullard by repeating such a silly question.

I'm sure all the other candidates would love to get an 'exclusive' on Fox News Sunday while being paid by them at the same time.

If other candidates were as capable as Sarah Palin maybe they would.

The bottom line for me is that Bachmann’s hiring of turd-brain old retread Rollins gives us a little peek into her EXECUTIVE abilities. It automatically sets me to thinking what other gems she might have in mind for her cabinet and other appointments. Based on this Rollins hiring; it would not surprise me to see her nominate the likes of Alan Simpson as Secretary of State; Susan Collins as Secretary of Defense; Arlen Specter as her first appointment to the Supreme Court; and let your imagination run wild as to the rest of her brilliant choices. NOTE TO SELF: Scratch one Bachmann from POTUS Candidate list!

My prediction: Palin is going to ignore this and keep talking about Obama and the issues. She's too smart to fall for this.

As for Bachmann, she won't win her Congressional seat next year and her fundraising will dry up.

As a Minnesota, I am bitterly distressed by what appears to be Bachmann's poor choice in picking Rollins; it could be she was led astray by his "association" with Reagan in 1984 (when, let's face it, Reagan would have done well even against George Washington).

I'll give her a day or so to slap him down; if not, she's off the list and I may work to primary her.

Of course, we could have Bachmann and Palin settle this the old fashioned ("fight like a girl") way -- MUD WRESTLING!!
