Will Anthony Weiner resign from the House of Representatives?

October 21, 2011. Same (updated) date as the Rapture. And the odds of each happening are about the same.
When McGreevy resigned as Governor of New Jersey a few years ago, his resgnation wasn’t effective until something like 90 days after his announcement. If he had resigned immediately, a special election would have had to be held, which the Dems definitely did not want. They were able to buy enough time to get the person they wanted as Governor. Perhaps a similar situation exists here?
What's new about lying and putting one willy on display for Democrats?
That is a Buy. My guess is he is gone in less than two weeks.
Rats don’t resign in shame because they have no shame.
I predict Weiner will not only hang in there, but that he will be re-elected by the same scum that has always re-elected him. These are Democrats we’re talking about. When on earth did they ever care about honesty, integrity, and character? Think Barney Frank, Bill Clinton, Barion Berry, “Cold Cash” Jefferson, etc., etc., etc.

Good point. He could try the Larry Craig play. Announce he’s going to retire some effective date and then after the flames go down, come back and change his mind.
Really feel tempted to short out that market, and pick up some free cash. Does anyone honestly think that the congressman who married a former aide to Hillary where Sick Willie officiated at the wedding is going to step down simply because of some pictures? That’s so far below Sick Willie’s standards as to be barely worth a comment in that circle.
I’ve noticed a lot of ‘Friends of Hillary’ have sat out talking about this issue.
wasserman shultz , Janet and Holder has to got to go next, Grayson , gone, this arrogant turd on his way out and now lets get rid of the others
Look for one...it's coming.
This reminds me of Wilford Brimley’s great lines in the movie “Absence of Malice”, where a subordinate says “I’m not quitting”. Brimley replies: “You ain’t no presidential appointee. The one that hired you was me. You got thirty days.”
Except in Weiners case, the ones that hired him don’t seem to know it.
Actually, I think the exact opposite is true.
Weiner has no intention of resigning. It is the other Democrat congresscritters that don't want to run with a Weiner around their necks that are going to keep pressuring him to resign.
I think Weiner will resign eventually, but buying his resignation won't be cheap.
He just made it past my 48 hour to resignation prediction. The lewd photo released today may push him over the top.
If they find out the girls he sent these pictures to are young, he’s screwed—so far they have been adults, 21 and 26 years of age—parents aren’t liking this though, esp today’s photo.
Drat! I was hoping he’d stay on. A great example of the Dem Party’s ahem moral status. If he stayed on, Weiner would be just about worthless as an attack dog. Now the voters in his district will just elect another hard-leftist. One who might know how to keep his or her privates private.
That certainly is the usual experience, but there are special circumstances in this case . . .New York Democrats are furious with Rep. Anthony Weiner over his fall from grace and his decision to remain in Congress, which will be a lingering embarrassment to them. But even if Mr. Weiner manages to survive a pending House Ethics Committee investigation, his district may not survive the redrawing of congressional district lines that is about to be conducted by state legislators in Albany.New York must lose two House seats in 2012 due to slow population growth, and one of those districts is almost certain to be in New York City. Mr. Weiner represents a sprawling district in Queens and Brooklyn that borders six other congressional districts and thus could be an easy target for elimination.
Weiner Won't Go, but His District Might (John Fund)
I dunno.
What are the Vegas odds-makers saying?
