Amazing (and True) Friday Fish Story...

The story goes that out on Lake Conroe (50 miles north of Houston ) a local man recently saw a ball bouncing around the surface in a very odd manner- so he went out to investigate.

Turns out it's a big ole flathead catfish that had apparently tried to swallow an entire basketball- which became stuck in its mouth, poor thing!

The fish was totally exhausted from repeatedly attempting to dive, but only managing to bob up and down due to the air of the ball buoying him to the surface whenever he tried.

The guy tried numerous times to get the ball out, but it was really jammed in there.. He eventually had to ask his wife to cut ball to deflate it and then released the very hungry catfish.  One of those ones you just got to see to believe...

Mighty kind of him... after-all, we all bite off
more than we can chew sometimes!

Funny. And lucky for the fish that the guy and his wife were inclined to be kindhearted.

It’s time to ban basketballs from catfish environments.

That fish would have been swimming in hot grease if I had found him.

I have a similar story involving two different nonpoisonous snakes. A couple of years ago I had major landscaping done in my front yard, which involved putting down a nylon mesh to hold the soil in place to prevent erosion. One day I noticed a black snake that had woven itself into the mesh and got caught. I spent about fifteen minutes helping it to get out. Several months later the same thing happened to another snake and I also saved it. They're all God's creatures and each would have suffered a horrible death if I hadn't acted.
