Janeane Garofalo: Hey, let’s make Weiner mayor of New York

Yeah, why not? He’s completely untrustworthy, crippled by tragically poor judgment, willing to lie to an almost pathological extent to cover up his transgressions, and fully prepared to smear his political enemies if he thinks he can profit from it. He’s narcissistic, nasty, and yet somehow so insecure that showing him idle flattery on Twitter might earn you a photo of his nob. Oh, and by his own admission, he’s apparently unfit for work in the private sector. So then: Why not let him run the country’s biggest city? More power, not less. Because he is, after all, a fightin’ liberal, which clearly impresses sophisticated progressive Janeane Garofalo. He fights. He never really wins or achieves much by doing so — his weakness as a legislator is one of the reasons Democrats have been so willing to run him over — but he hates those wingnuts and isn’t shy about saying so, which is reason enough to let him govern America’s financial nerve center. Skip ahead to 3:00 and drink this in, bearing in mind that she’s hardly alone in her Weiner admiration, even now, among the lefty base.

She gets a smattering of applause from Maher’s audience too, of course, just as a reminder that there really is no idea so stupid that they won’t cheer for it. Exit quotation from an incisive Matt Lewis, who succeeds in perfectly, er, sizing Weiner up: “Being a political rock star isn’t what he does for a job — it’s who he is.”

I wouldn’t be willing to bet against it. A couple of months in rehab, the MSM completely forgets the lying before I fessed up, and the incredible stupidity of the average New York city resident ... no I would not put any money against it.

Weiner embodies the liberal mindset so well that he has a shot at he DNC presidential ticket one day.

That plan only works if you are rabid Democrat.

Boy 2ndDiv. I am really enjoying your tag lines. Alexander Haig. Fantastic quote. He was a great guy and the left just hated him for no reason. He wore a suit better than anyone else and he is the reason I had my dad buy me double breasted suits with french cuff shirts in High School. Thanks for the memories. (Cuff links are a real pain in the ass to buy anymore.)

If Weiner were a Pubbie, Garofalo would be calling him a misogynist, a psycho, a pedophile, and a racist. ....and of course calling for his immediate ouster (at minimum).

What Dems are essentially saying is that they don’t have to have any morals, only Republicans do. Morals are for chumps say the Dems. Let’s see Obama go with that slogan next year, and see how well it plays in Peoria.

I worked for him in his presidential campaign as an advance man, fund-raiser, driver and guard. I used to love his white collars on a different color or striped shirt. Used to wear a lot of those when I wore suits. He and his wife were very classy people and super nice.

He meets all the qualifications: sleazy, corrupt liberal garbage.

He’d fit right in.

In America, we have two worlds . . .

What could be The Weiner's campaign bus:

What could be Sarah Palin's campaign bus:

Get the picture?

Dear Mr NoLibZone:

I have been trying to envision a memorial that would embody the liberal mindset, but I have had little success. In my frustration I resort to browsing Free Republic and Voila! Your post provides the perfect design for a Weiner Memorial Statue.

Central Park would be a perfect location to erect a Granite Weiner that would lasting inspiration to all the perverts and muggers who congregate there every night.

Of course the inscription would have to note that funding came from stimulus money provided by Barak Obama. And maybe a donation by Janeane Garofalo could be accepted on the condition that she back off from her Weiner for Mayor damands.

Or if he was a republican. Heck, to her just being a republican is just cause for getting thrown out of office.
