“will prevent an estimated 17,000 premature deaths, 120,000 cases of childhood asthma and 850,000 days of missed work due to illness”

Voodoo math. 90% of statistics are made up on the spot. But we can look at the millions of deaths the EPA is responsible for by banning DDT. EPA has killed more people than the Nazis.

It’s time to impeach that de facto president...and convict him in the senate. Actually, since he is not Article II, Section 1 qualified...he needs to be arrested and handcuffed and put into prison...solitary confinement for the rest of his miserable life.

But Jackson, in her testimony to the committee, cited major benefits from implementation of Clean Air Act rules. She has accused industry lobbyists of peddling in inaccurate “doomsday” scenarios.

Hmmmm. Looks like another made the LIST. If she was able to look inward, I believe she would be shocked at the accusations that will be aimed at her and the agenda that is designed to kill more jobs and the economy in general if we still have an economy by the time of implementation.

Gentle folk, back in the day, I could hardly believe what I was seeing during the Clinton administration. Now just a few years later, it is even more shocking what passes for reality. Anyone believe that those of us in northern climes are going to stand for rolling blackouts at temperatures below zero?

With the cleanest air on the planet, in the USA, what makes one think they are the arbiters of even cleaner? I might have to move to Wyoming, or buy a truck to haul coal, but one needs to ask what is really important, cleaner air, or life liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

How many people will die from lack of heat? My electric furnace cost me $400-500/MONTH from December to April for a well-insulated little two bedroom cottage last winter, set at 68 degrees.

Of course, these same radicals want to force everyone to use mercury-filled lightbulbs.

In a sane world, it would be everyone at the EPA who would be out of a job.

I’ve looked and looked, and I can’t find ANYTHING resembling an EPA in the enumerated powers granted to the Federal government by the Constitution...

Just sayin’

““Misleading at best, scare tactics at worst,””

Who better to pontificate on job/cost forecasting? The affected corporations or some bureaucratic jackass?

“...will prevent an estimated 17,000 premature deaths,..."

And this is a proven fact, how?

And what exactly is a "premature" death anyway? The alphabet soup agencies, AKA our government, love to toss around that phrase along with scary numbers whatever is the current the killer du jour.

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson struck back Wednesday at American Electric Power, the powerful utility that recently claimed looming EPA rules will prompt a wave of coal plant closures and cost scores of jobs.

“Misleading at best, scare tactics at worst,” Jackson told reporters Wednesday after testifying at a Senate Environment and Public Works Committee hearing on Clean Air Act rules.

Yea, loosing the revenue from FIVE power plants is "scare tactics."

How dare that evil power company actually want to make money.

It must be tough living full time in stupid land.
