Good luck on the new novel. It should prove to be as gripping as the others.

Maybe there is another John Milieus around. I think “Foreign Enemies” would probably lend itself more to a movie.

I took the small cards of the first book and scanned them, then printed them at 8”X10” after resizing them in photoshop.

I used glossy paper and they looked professional so I took them to several local gun shops and explained the story and how pro gun the book was. They all said they would place them where they could be seen.

After a month or two, I visited all of them and couldn’t find any of them displayed. It sort of made me mad as it appeared that anything which didn’t help them sell guns was not going to be displayed.

The fact that I had been broke and had not bought any guns from them recently may have influenced them. Then again, maybe some customer wanted them and took it home with them.

Anyway I was hoping to get some sales for you but probably didn’t do much good.

Dadgum, I wrote out a long post and must have hit the
wrong button, will try and reconstruct it later.
Enjoyed the first 100. Wish I could type well
enough to try writing. Have you read any Fenimore
Cooper? Not Last of the Mohicans or deerslayer but
his sea stories? My favorites are The Crater and
Miles Wallingford. American seamen in the early
1800s. Great stories which display American individuality
and idealism, with enough plot twists and adventure
to keep you interested.

Keep up the great work.

I Kindled CC from Amazon just now. I could tell after the first few chapters of the preview that I was snared. Starting Ch. 9 now ...

If the film industry in this country wasn’t filled with politically-correct eunuchs, you would be working on your 4th film.

As a guy with no financial interest in the books, I just sent him small unmarked bills and have a signed copy of each one of these:

Personalized and everything! : )

This book would make a great movie.

I second that, Matt! I was screentyping this book in my head as I read it. Beautiful scenery, engaging characters, danger and love. I see the end scene in my head as I'm typing this with a shot of Kilmer's face, a wink, pan out and fade to black. Ready-made sequel!

I couldn’t upload the custom “dingbats” to the Kindle version. Between each scene where you see ****, there should be a little schooner profile of Rebel Yell. Otherwise it’s the same as the book.

I still have to finish the Kindle conversion of Foreign Enemies And Traitors, then I’ll look into putting them on Nook. But I think you can download a Kindle app for your Nook.

For sure there were some elements of the old JDM/TM I wanted to retain. Some memes are just too good to let slip away for good.

I think all of my novels have terrific, original scenes that would work super well in film. But I’m not holding out any hope at all. Even finished screenplays only have about a 1/1,000 chance of ever being made into movies.

Thanks for the efforts with the gunshops. I do sell some cases to some shops, but only when they solicit wholesale orders from me. I gave up on trying to pitch my books to them. 99% of the time I just got blank stares or no response. No matter what the subject matter is, or how pro-RKBA a book might be, most folks today just are not readers, period. Sad, but a sign of the times.

Awesome, many thanks!

Its so hard to see in some stores real honest talent as nowadays, where I live in Wasilla, AK the big box stores only keep well known authors and the sole book store is terribly liberal favored.

who cares about the ‘dingbats’ . . hahahaha

I am so engrossed in the story that I hardly pay attention to anything else. But I will admit I have seen the ‘****’ on occasion at end of some scenes.

Keep up the good work and get the 3rd book of your EF&D trilogy out on Kindle. THat will be my next read!!!
