Yesterday I parked at a Starbucks and while walking to the place noticed a car (no, it was not a Prius) with the stupidest bumper sticker ever. Actually it had two: The first was that COEXIST one which is also stupid. Because the problems we have today aren't because of Christians fighting with Muslims fighting with Jews fighting with Buddhists fighting with Shintos fighting with Zoroastrians fighting with athiests. The problem is freaking Muslims and left-wing socialist-Marxist secular-"progressive" athiests.
But I digress. The other bumper sticker was the real stupid one. It said, "It wouldn't kill you to learn Spanish."

I speak, read, and write French as they wont allow you to graduate from HS in canadastan without it. I learned Japanese forcefully because my job depends on it. If there ever was a new language I would learn it would be Mandarin, as the Chicoms will be the new enemies of the country.
Spanish? Just like that Beavis and Butthead episode, the only thing I care about is burritos, nachos and of course, kulos’ and tetas.
I’ve been plotting to get a whole bunch of bumper stickers printed up that say: “Yes, I’m an Idiot!” Then when I see an Obama sticker, place one of mine beside it.
Of course, I’m a coward & will probably never do it. But I wish someone else would! :-)
No it wouldn’t kill me, but I’m not learning a foreign language in order to converse in my native country.
That being the case, why do we need to spend so much on our aging and crumbling “infrastructure”? Might be something to ask the owner of the bumper sticker, eh?

A native German-speaker would probably have also given you a double-take. The word would be "Scheißkopf," and though it would definitely be understood that you were trying to be insulting, that isn't a fixed expression in German, just as my quickly consulting my German->English dictionary and calling you a "duck-squeezer" or a "currant-crapper" wouldn't make much sense to you (an "Entenklemmer" is a tightwad, while a "Korinthenkacker" is an anal-retentive, bureaucratic, or niggling person), though I might still get beaten up for my trouble.

I have 2 on my Tahoe right now. One is a small yellow oval that is from the Texas state rifle association. The other one says: YOU CAN ALL GO TO HELL AND I WILL GO TO TEXAS a quote from Davey Crockett. I have seen people reading that one and then giving me a dirty look.

The 'illegals' normally don't speak 'Spanish'. They speak Mexican and South American dialects that contain some Spanish words. If you spoke to one in 'Spanish' they most likely would not understand you.
I lived in South Texas for several years and had a good friend that spoke fluent Spanish. He couldn't understand them either. I also had a friend who immigrated from Mexico. He admitted that he couldn't speak Spanish.
Liberals are just stupid and don't know it. They shouldn't be in charge and probably shouldn't be allowed to vote.

I spent five months in 1985/86 going full time to a Spanish language class. I then spent most of the next 12 years living in Latin America. I was at the 4-level when I left Cuba in 1997, and now, living in south Florida, I have no excuse for letting my ability lapse. I DO enjoy listening to them rattle on and not suspecting that I understand a lot of what they’re saying.
