Women by nature are followers. They can’t even go to the bathroom alone - they go in a group. All it will take is one then two then three to start peeling away from the herd and the rest will follow. They just need to know it’s safe to do so. Women ask, “What’s everyone else doing?” before they decide their opinions. Few women (or men) could withstand the scrutiny and criticism that Palin has withstood. Once it’s ‘safe’ to support Sarah, women will start changing their minds. (It’s a girls right to change her mind.)

Sarah can win because at a time when the whole country is lamenting the fact that our President wasn’t vetted, in Sarah Palin we have the most vetted politician in the history of politics.

I posted in another thread that the press has pretty much gone so far as to break into her cars to see what might be stuck to the bottoms of the floor mats, and yet they keep coming up empty. They've shot their wad. They have nothing left. If she runs, they'll have to oppose her with stuff even lamer than they've used up till now, and do it to an audience that varies between desensitized and fed up with hearing her trashed. They shot themselves in the foot on this one. They never heard the old saying "hold your fire till you see the whites of their eyes."

“There aren’t enough of her female fans to balance off the other ‘otherwise conservative women” who don’t like her’”

You have no idea where the numbers will be in a year. It’s a total guess on your part. To speak declaratively about it now demonstrates an underlying agenda.

If your agenda has intrinsic value, you will speak it openly. Otherwise, you’ve proven that your tactic is deception.

What value can your ideas have if you can’t speak them openly? I’m challenging your ideas and your intellect.

I am making a declaration that if Palin is to win among the females 22 to 40 or so she needs to gin up her game. Yes I declare I am speaking anecdotally since I am a nurse of 25 years experience still working in the field and I have a large amount of contact with female RN’s as well as female patients who express gestaltic, free floating, and undefined hostility concerning Palin(or they fear to define such to a male though they may with other females). I also declare that I haven’t taken a scientific measure or poll of such sentiments nor studied the lack of the women’s specificity as to their causation. Now the poster Carmody had some good points about the nature of women which I have indeed observed over the years and this is where Palin needs to decide if she is going to fish or cut bait. She is going to have to reach a good number of these women or at least inject enough doubt as to Obama so that they don’t even vote for anyone let alone him.

As for “agendas”, you can look over my thousands of replies and posts over the past 9 years and decide if I have some secret agenda, black jet contrail projects, or Fabian tendencies. You go be a good intellectual and look over my writings and decide if I am a wolf in sheep’s clothing!

As for me, I am desperately hoping Palin at least ends up in a position where she is debating Obama....she’ll tear him to shreds. The one thing I want her to do is to call him out when he starts doing that middle finger rub on the forehead when he is in tight spot; and you know he is attempting a clever snarky FY meassage designed to make his fans chuckle and his opponent look like a fool! I’ve got special popcorn saved up just for the debates!

It’s so insane. In her life, and even in the lives genetically related to Sarah Palin, there isn’t much to gossip abpitmbut what little they find is spread and reported everywhere, joked about on every show. Her name in Hollywood is pronounced with derision. She is supposed to be so stupid one wonders how she can even walk in her high heels.

And yet where are the public media guffaws over Barack Obama seeing dead people in his audience, messing up the number of states in the Union, golfing during all crises, having come up with a birth certificate that most experts claim is highly suspicious, no records for his past available, known to cavort with men, known to smoke a lot more than tobacco — Where Are Those Jokes???

Humor is not funny if it’s always about someone from a group not your own.

My fear in a debate against obama is the old Cyrano trick. He sucks at quick intelligent responses, but other libs can be quicker and some hearing devices are virtually undetectable. I’d love to know how we can insure he isn’t wired.

Obama still would have to process what he is hearing and repeat it word for word with perfect intonation and timing...in a fast and furious debate the odd expressions and pauses, would make the use of such devices obvious or at least disrupt the timing of his responses as to degrade his performance.

I’ll admit I’m hypersensitive to these sorts of things. I only question a person’s intellect when I think they might be a hostile in disguise. When I accidentally hit a friend my apologies are sincere.

Although I often don’t know with certainty whether a given individual poster is a liberal, I do know with certainty that the liberal intellect is an ultimate failure. Even while they see it as a success. So it’s a natural target. And leftist ideology intentionally fuels itself with this failed intellect, turning failure into disgrace.

Still not satisfied, leftists then take their disgrace and sink it into the cesspool of deceptiveness, thinking deceptiveness to be wisdom. This chaotic mess is the source of my passion against leftist trolls.

Palin is doing exactly what she should be doing. She’s going directly to the people and ignoring the media. Nobody has done this before, though it’s the only way politics should be done. To describe Sarah Palin as a leader is the understatement of the century.

Passive-aggressive tendencies aside, nurses are a fairly opinionated bunch. And they are conscientious, and good learners. (As you imply, female nurses are not a representative sample of all women.) Given the fact that nurses are conscientious and good learners, we can conclude with a fairly high degree of confidence that the nurses who hate Palin are not responding to the real Palin but instead to the Tina Fey version.

I know nurses and people in general well enough to be convinced that when they become aware of who Palin is, as the real Palin becomes more visible through The Undefeated and other means, most of them will turn their backs on the Tina Fey image of Sarah Palin.

Okay, you are forgiven...besides I’ve jumped the shark a few times myself.

And you’re jumping the shark again if you think I need forgiveness for telling you to stop claiming you know the outcome of the election more than a year from now. And remember, Palin doesn’t need to change anything she’s doing.

She’s doing exactly what she needs to do.

By the way reason is not faith....reason can point the way to faith it can’t bridge the epistomological gap between knowledge of God’s attributes and God himself.

CS Lewis in “Pilgrims Regress” introduced the Character “Reason” as a virgin who could not corrupt or prostitute herself in the process of choice and knowledge, she could only point out the strengths and weakness of each considered philosophy or course of action and enforce strict intellectual honesty in the deliberations. She tells the protagonist of the story, that decisions regarding the path that Reason has lead him to were best answered by “her cousins, faith, hope and charity”.

Lewis sought to clarify Reason as a process that gets you to faith, but it ultimately can’t be called faith and neither can or will Reason make the leap for you.” A transaction between a man’s soul and God’s spirit has to take place and many a man has come to verge of faith by reason but has never been able to take the plunge...like the governor that told Paul “Thou almost persuadist me to become a Christian”...but he never did.

So now I question your motives and your intellectual honesty? What is your agenda? Are you acting in the role of grand inquisitor of politics and faith in questioning me? By calling yourself “reasonisfaith”, you betray faulty intellectual reasoning almost subconsciously! Do you have doubts about the living God, needing to cling to a corruption of Reason in keeping some faith in him? And can you by Reason even be sure that the God you worship is indeed Christ himself? Reason can both support and and tear down ones facades but only God’s higher truths discerned by his Spirit empowered faith can ever nourish and enrich the soul. “For we know in part and believe in part.....Faith is the substance of things longed for of things unseen”.(Paul)

Reason can never be the “substance of things unseen” as her cousin Faith is!

Reason sings a simple song “If P or if Q
I upbraided them both
and made them mind their manners
though both displayed
their lofty banners....
but who was right
or which was wrong
‘twixt P or Q...
I never knew....

Surely you can see that only carelessness would lead you to assume I haven’t given conscious thought to the theme of my forum name.

The idea arose from a desire to respond to the “secular progressives,” by using a topic regarding which they suffer a particular blindness, combined with a stronger sentiment which is essentially my faith in the knowledge that reason and faith are truly reconciled in Christ.

In our world reason is accurately conceptualized as serving faith. In answer to some of your comments: my forum name was intended to convey the idea that reason submits to faith.

I do enjoy discussions like this. But let’s not be distracted from what started it: the idea of whether or not Sarah Palin needs to change what she’s doing.

I maintain that she is doing exactly what she should be doing. Dislike of Palin among certain groups of women comes from a weakness in them, not from any lack on Palin’s part. I support Palin because she is the only contender who can stop leftism in its tracks and even push it back.

Leftist ideology is truly a failure on the most important levels of intellect.
