Half of Americans want Congress to probe Obama's eligibility
WND ^ | June 26, 2011 | Bob Unruh

Half of Americans would like to see Congress investigate Barack Obama's eligibility for the presidency and nearly that many believe the definition of the constitutional term "natural born citizen" means both parents must be U.S. citizens, according to a new scientific poll.

"There's no marginalizing those who want this matter investigated by Congress," said Fritz Wenzel of Wenzel Strategies, who conducted the WND/Wenzel Poll telephone survey June 16-19. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.85 points.

"Even among Democrats, more than one in four – 28 percent – said they now want an inquiry, as do 43 percent of independents and 77 percent of Republicans. Interestingly, men are much more skeptical than are women about the question of eligibility – only 42 percent of men said they think Obama proved his eligibility by releasing the electronic birth certificate, compared to 59 percent of women."

The poll indicated 43.5 percent of Americans believe that a Hawaii birth would make no difference in Obama's eligibility, as the Constitution requires both parents of a U.S. president to have been U.S. citizens – and Obama's father was not a citizen.

The figure included 56.9 percent of the GOP, 40.2 percent of independents and 32.9 percent of Democrats.

The eligibility saga, as Wenzel noted, has taken on a life of its own. It began with questions about Obama's birth place and parentage before his election. At that time, he released a computer image of a "Certification of Live Birth" from Hawaii and insisted it was original and the only document available.

Yes, people were talking about ineligibility prior to the election but the Vattel definition that requires both parents to be U.S. citizens, period, wasn't brought up until Donofrio brought it up first. And this was November, 2008. You (and apparently everyone else but me) might have learned about this in civics class but nobody was talking about it until after Obama was elected.

Don't care. The man was always ineligible.

He was hired by Orley Taitz and delivered the goods, which has been included in her lawsuits.

When courts refuse to hear cases on the merits, it doesn’t matter for much - the evidence of malfeasance goes without recognition.

Funny nobody brought this up until after Obama was elected.

Just because your head was not in the game doesn't make your statement true.

This blew up in June, 2008 with the release of Obama's first bogus birth document, but the early inquireies were in March, 2008.

Many of us were curious about Obama's origins before that.

You comment is absurd.

And nobody brought this up during the campaign? Really?

That's twice.

You have now been identified as an Obama-worshipping Obot.

Go back to the Daily Kos.

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it and all the other writers who wrote me on this subject. I learned something new about President Nixon and what happened and why he had to go.

Good luck getting any kind of source or support out of Sven.

You will, however, be able to watch his claims grow in scope and detail over time. But never will you see a source.

with his Homosexual room mate

He had at least two.

Here's one -- Chandoo -- he liked to cuddle. He paid the rent while Obama was at Occidental.

Here's another -- Phil Boerner. This fairy paid the rent in New York. The apartment was a third story walkup with a railroad layout and a missing doorbell. It had a walkthrough layout, and, conveniently, Boerner had to walk through Obama's room to get to his own.

Just admit that you made it all up.

The first step to dealing with your problem is admitting that you have one.

“These go back to June and July of 2008. Considering Obama’s surprise upset of Clinton for the Democrat nomination was June 3rd, 2008 (IIRC) I would say FReepers were ahead of the curve and deserve a good deal of praise for their diligence.”

A surprise? Only if you hadn’t been paying attention to the race at all. Obama won the Iowa Caucus, he had been leading in the delegate count since February or March, and a lot of people had been calling for Hillary to concede as early as March.

Plus, Obama declared his candidacy way back in early 2007, and had given a nationally-televised speech in 2004 where he mentioned his non-citizen dad practically in the first paragraph.

June 2008 isn’t diligent. It’s three months late at best, and four YEARS at worst.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I'm afraid I can't live up to your expectations. Televised speech in 2004 or not, I didn't have a clue who Obama was when he entered the race. To be frank, I didn't care. My focus was on the Republican primary. I pushed for Duncan Hunter and ended up with John McCain ... imagine my disappointment. It wasn't until Obama overcame Clinton that he became a serious blip on a lot of FReeper radars -- I haven't review all my posts from that era but I assume that includes me. But the point is moot as I've stated several times. It does not matter when a Constitutional conservative becomes aware of Obama's non-citizen lineage. Today, tomorrow, and yesterday are irrelevant. What matters is what a Constitutional conservative does once he learns that Obama is the son of a foreign subject. Generally that progression starts with disbelief, then research, then acceptance, then frustration and anger --- and then a new birther joins the ranks and our numbers continue to grow. There are folks today in every step of the progression. Over all I am pleased with my fellow Conservatives. I just hope the tipping point is reached before the next election as that will make the clean up sooo much easier.

Nonsense, Obama was getting tons of threads at FR even before the first primary election.

He was never flying under the radar here.

THAT is why Nixon faced impeachment and resigned.

You forget that Nixon was the Prosecutor in the Algier Hiss trial. Algier Hiss was the DARLING of the Liberals in the 1950s. That he turned out to be a communist spy and that Nixon got him convicted created SERIOUS animosity on the part of the Liberal segment of society. They hated his guts! (Nixon made them look like chumps for supporting and partying with a convicted communist spy.)

I gather what you mean by saying that Hitler fit the description was that he came into the office with such fanfare.

I was merely pointing out the vagueness of the description I responded to. Sorry about any confusion.

I really enjoyed your explanation of President Nixon and South Vietnam. We have a number of friends who were refugees from South Vietnam. If one believed the John Kerry and Hollywood version of our involvement in South Vietnam you would think that they would hate American service men and service women, and have some serious reservations about America. Quite the contrary... they are some of the most patriotic Americans that we know, and they are very respectful to our veterans and especially Vietnam veterans. Many have told us of how they were helped and even saved by our service men and service women.

I say this because my wife has the largest collection of women’s service uniforms that I am aware of on the West Coast. She sets up displays at schools, museums, special events and fund raisers. She maintains the collection with the help of some of her Vietnamese friends. She has spent so much time with them in the last few years that she has become pretty good at understanding the Vietnames language. We have heard the same version of events from people who lived through it. Saddly this is not what our children are taught in school. We fear that soon the version told by Hollywood and the Left will be all that is remembered by our society. So please keep repeating the truth to whoever will listen.

“He was never flying under the radar here.”

Many persons fifty and older can remember being taught what it meant to be a Natural Born Citizen in school. Unfortunately, it is one of one of those memories from school that needs an event or someone to trigger it before it comes back. One of the most important functions of a healthy brain is prioritizing what is important to an organism's survival. The importance of the meaning of Natural Born Citizen to the survival of a healthy sixteen or seventeen year old to them seems far lower than the information presented in the average pimple cream commercial.

Another example: I see dozens of extremely unpleasant events on a regular basis. When I get subpoenaed and have to look back at the reports that I wrote it brings back vivid memories. If you asked me what I did on a shift a week ago I probably couldn't tell you without some type of prompting.

I have had the unpleasant experience of being questioned by attorneys on numerous occasions. You are using a tactic here that they frequently employ. It is interesting but meaningless that few people were thinking about the long established definition of Natural Born Citizen before the election. The fact that his mother was underage at the time she was impregnated by a communist foreigner and may have been born outside the country was a huge distraction. So I am not going to apologize for not thinking about what I and many others were taught about what it meant to be Natural Born Citizen before someone else saw the forest through the trees.

Thanks. It’s more of a rant than an explanation but it’s the straight up truth.

John Kerry testified to Congress that there would be no bloodbath if the US withdrew. The New York Times said Indochina would be better off if the Americans left.

After the communists took over in Vietnam and Cambodia and millions were killed or put in re-education camps or drowned in the South China Sea trying to escape there was no apology from the liberals. They never said “oops, our bad.”

In fact, they doubled down on the propaganda. For example, millions of Americans today believe that JFK wanted to pull out of Vietnam and was killed in a conspiracy by LBJ in order to stay in Vietnam. It’s a ridiculous lie, but they’ve seen it with their own eyes in the Hollywood movie “JFK.” Of course there are lots of other examples.
