"I Have Enough Money"
In David Mamets recent book, The Secret Knowledge, he quotes President Obama as saying,
The individual at some point must be able to say:
I have enough money. [Therefore, I no longer need to work, toil, or sweat; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to earn and pay taxes; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to plant or harvest; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to build or produce; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to use my skills, my cleverness, or my muscles; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to use my education (achieved at great public expense; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to apply my vast knowledge and experience; after all, I have enough money.
I invented electricity, the light bulb, the telephone, the automobile, the television, the PC, the Internet, and GPS, but I no longer need to invent nor innovate; after all, I have enough money. I discovered cures for infection and disease, but I need discover no more; after all, I have enough money.
I no longer need to tend the lame, the ill, or set broken bones; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to defend my country from its enemies; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to protect my fellows from evil lawbreakers; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to extinguish the fires which may burn my fellows and their homes; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to teach my fellows and her babies; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to study or learn; after all, I have enough money.
I no longer need to sing or dance; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to create art, music, or stories; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to build, operate, or repair power, gas, water, waste-water, telephone, Internet, or highway systems; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to mine coal, oil, metals, or minerals; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to make steel, cement, lumber, gasoline, or electricity; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to operate trucks, trains, airplanes, or ships; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to clean things or collect refuse; after all, I have enough money.
I no longer need to work in factories to manufacture useful and delightful things; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to raise cows, pigs, or chickens; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to milk the cows or gather the eggs; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to fish the seas and lakes; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to tend orchards or harvest their fruits; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to make bread, butter, cheese, beer, or wine; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to prepare wonderful meals for my fellows; after all, I have enough money.
I no longer need to build new homes, buildings, or factories; after all, I have enough money. I no longer need to repair leaking roofs, cracked foundations, clogged plumbing, shorted wiring, failing computers, faulty appliances, or broken glass; after all, I have enough money.
I no longer need Obama to be President. After all, I have enough money.]

That drawing is epic.
"I refuse to apologize for my ability - I refuse to apologize for my success - I refuse to apologize for my money."
So you think that money is the root of all evil? Have you ever asked what is the root of money? Money is a tool of exchange, which can't exist unless there are goods produced and men able to produce them.
Money is the material shape of the principle that men who wish to deal with one another must deal by trade and give value for value. Money is not the tool of the moochers (the socialists), who claim your product by tears, or of the looters (liberals, communists), who take it from you by force (or of the federal congress and senate who take it from you by law).
Money is made possible only by the men who produce.
Until and unless you discover that money is the root of all good, you ask for your own destruction. When money ceases to be the tool by which men deal with one another, then men become the tools of men. Blood, whips and guns or dollars. Take your choice there is no other and your time is running out."
“That drawing is epic”.
...bad choice. I meant nauseating.
Well then you should be scared as hell of Obama and his cronies.
Mamet’s book is the most important conservative political book I’ve read in more than a decade.
Freepers must buy, read, and study it.
It is so innovative in its thinking and so devastating to the left. it puts to shame the books by all the famed broadcast conservative commentators. it even goes beyond Sowell (while quoting him.)
You can spend a fascinating read just contemplating a paragraph, which presents our ideas in a new and intelligent way.
I was saying: “Wow! Honey, listen to this!” repeatedly while reading.
The footnotes alone are better than any book by the mass of popular conservative authors.
This is one to OWN.
Can’t it be both.
I think the term used nowdays is “epic fail”.

I no longer need Obama to be President. After all, he has enough money.
Maybe an Urban Legend, but there's a story about a guy working at the U.S. Patent Office in the 1840s who quit - "There's no career here - we've invented everything we're going to need."
As some wit said, "If history doesn't repeat, it sure echoes."
“I no longer need Obama to be President. After all, he has enough money.”
And he and Michelle have had enough vacations at taxpayer expense.
I don’t, gimme some of Bama’s stash.......
This is the welfare mentality, to have enough (government) money to be free of any labor.
Very nice. But the real deal is how Obama will cheat his way into a second term. Attention needs to be paid.
That's what 0bama said, but that's not what he meant.
What 0bama meant was that HE (0bama) should be able to say when the individual has enough money.
And that, of course, depends very much on who the individual is.
When the producers have enough money, they go Galt.
