You could follow the simple rule that anything The Nation advocates for, I should be against. But wait, there’s more. Elizabeth Warren is a dishonest person. In testimony last year, before passage of the healthcare bill, I watched her claim that something in excess of 50% of consumer bankruptcies were caused by catastrophic medical expenses. She has developed a reputation as an expert on consumer bankruptcy law, which then carried over to her supposed ability to regulate consumer financial transactions. Anyone with access to the case level details of a large number of consumer bankruptcies can tell you that while medical debt may be present (and thus discharged) in over 50% of bankruptcies, it's far from the cause of the bankruptcy filing in the majority of cases. When I saw her testimony I realized what the financial industry is concerned about and I understood why Obama could not appoint her to any position which requires Senate confirmation. All the more reason for a clean sweep in 2012. Send Elizabeth Warren back to Harvard Law!

What's wrong with my title? It's my title, not the article's title. I posted a link to the article so people could read and get informed. Did you even read the article? Here are quotes:

"Yet within a few months he found himself denouncing the CFPB as a “rogue agency” with an “authoritarian structure”..."

"GOP Representative Patrick McHenry, who chaired the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform hearing, could barely hide his disgust for the CFPB and Warren, accusing her of lying to Congress and frequently interrupting her answers. “In a few short weeks,” McHenry warned ominously, “the bureau will become a powerful instrument in the hands of progressive regulators.”"

The US Chamber of Commerce led a $2 million industrywide ad campaign opposing the CFPB, using a butcher as its unlikely public face. “Virtually every business that extends credit to American consumers would be affected—even the local butcher,”

The CFPB will inherit consumer protection responsibilities from seven agencies and assume powers to police “unfair, deceptive, or abusive” financial services products. It will write new rules and enforce existing ones for banks with assets of $10 billion or more and the tens of thousands of companies in the shadow banking industry—payday lenders, student loan companies, mortgage brokers, debt collectors, pawn shops. Smaller banks will be subject to CFPB rules, but other regulators like the FDIC will enforce them. According to Americans for Financial Reform (AFR), a coalition of consumer groups, “The CFPB has authority to write rules affecting mortgage down payments and disclosures, loan modifications, credit card rates and fees, bank overdraft programs, credit score usage, and eligibility for student loans, credit cards, pre-paid cards and more….[and] to impose fines on companies, require restitution (repayment) to aggrieved consumers, rescind consumer contracts and/or file lawsuits against firms that violate its rules.”

In part because it’s one of the strongest aspects of Dodd-Frank, the CFPB has become a favorite target of Republican attacks, right up there with George Soros, ACORN and Planned Parenthood. It’s been called “one of the greatest assaults on economic liberty in my lifetime” (Representative Jeb Hensarling) and “the most powerful agency ever created” (Representative Spencer Bachus).

Eric Holder's people will be deciding who gets a loan, and how much they are going to pay, and for how long.

And who gets free money and houses.

It's my title, not the article's title.

I have no problem with the title, but the rules are that you post with the original article title because it eliminates double posting of an article. The Admin folks will not approve, I have had them corrected before, and it makes sense. If you want to add something to the end of the title that is OK, but not rewrite the title

No chip for me. See "lead implant" for further clarification.

I don't know who those 77 are but THANK YOU for reigning in Obama's abuse of recess appointments.

Since it was during my media blackout period, I had missed Obama's 2010 recess appointment of Craig Beckered after he was rejected by the senate.

Obvious.
The DNC and probably (Fannie Mae, through David Gregory’s
wife) will probably get at 0.9% cut of every transaction.

Clever. Just as they are doing with the AGW hoax.

Will it be reported on NBC?
Are there bears living on the Sun?

Yeah, some people will have to pay higher rates since they create a larger carbon footprint. If you are a union or party member, well, you benefit the country so you’ll pay less.
