Why I No Longer Consider Myself a Republican
Les Femmes ^ | July 2, 2011 | Mary Ann Kreitzer

Posted on 07/03/2011 3:10:42 PM PDT by NYer

I used to work for the Republican Party. I was a member of the Fairfax County Republican Committee for several years and a precinct chairman. When I moved to Woodstock I joined the Republican Women of Shenandoah Country and was Secretary. I quit when the executive board decided we had to support a woman who supported liberal positions spending initiative because she was a Republican woman. Apparently, what you stand for means nothing as long as you call yourself Republican.
So when I read the American Thinker article, The Need For A Militant Conservative Movement, it struck a chord. Read it and, if you're a conservative, see if it resonates with you as well:

Late last week, the New York State Senate voted to legalize homosexual marriage, giving equality with heterosexual marriage, the foundational unit of every single human society in the last 5,000 years of recorded history.

This is an enormous victory for the gay rights movement and for the American left. Like most of the left's victories in recent years, it could not have happened without the support of the Republican Party (which controls the New York State Senate). Republican fingerprints are all over Roe v. Wade, No Child Left Behind, affirmative action, amnesty for illegals, and the expansion of Medicare. Indeed, gay marriage failed in New York when the Democrats controlled the State Senate in 2009.

It's time for conservatives to face the truth: there is no conservative party in the United States. There is a leftist party, and a slightly-less-leftist party.

Forty percent of Americans self-identify as conservatives. Yet conservatives could not muster enough political support to defend traditional, heterosexual marriage against homosexuals, who comprise less than five percent of the population. But the gays -- whose campaign in New York was fronted by the circus freak Lady Gaga -- have been everywhere, French-kissing on the steps of state capitols from Sacramento to Albany, marching through the streets of San Francisco in bondage leather, throwing condoms and hosts at priests celebrating Mass in New York City, running television ads advocating gay marriage, donating pro bono legal representation to their cause, and enacting vendettas, protests, and boycotts against anyone who disagrees with them.

Gays, a tiny fraction of the population, have been organized and militant. This is true of the left in general....

The combined numbers of gays, blacks, unions, and other groups comprising the left fail to outnumber conservatives.  Yet conservatives have suffered defeat after defeat on almost every major issue for decades.  Conservatives have been disorganized and passive, while leftists have been militant and united in their fifty-year quest to destroy every single traditional, bourgeois norm and value in American life -- while smugly enjoying the security and economic prosperity that was created by those very same bourgeois norms and values. (Read entire article here.)
Yup, the Republican Party has betrayed us. Party politics trumps the truth almost every time. Consider Rick Santorum supporting Arlen Specter in PA and Newt Gingrich supporting Dede Scozzafava in NY. Both Specter and Scozzafava were RINOs as liberal as any Democrat, but Santorum passed up a pro-life candidate and Newt just counted Republican seats -- as if those folks can be counted on to vote traditional values. And the Republican leadership concedes to the left every time. So my strategy these days is VOTE CONSERVATIVE. If a Republican is liberal no amount of scare mongering by the leadership will get me to support him (or her).  Did Scott Brown stop Obamacare? No! But he was our savior! In reality, he's one more so-called conservative supporting the radical homosexual agenda. He helped repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell and invited a hard-core "gay" activist to the bill signing. What did pro-family folks gain with Brown? A kick in the teeth.

Support the good guys and let the bad ones fend for themselves. Don't give them a nickle or your vote, no matter how many Republican flunkies wring their hands and tell you the sky is falling.

“The combined numbers of gays, blacks, unions, and other groups”

I dislike the inclusion of black on this list. “Black” is not a chosen behavior or endeavor; and while most vote Dem these days I don’t think a race should be listed right there among a chosen perversion and a liberal anti-work group.

“You never hear Democrats whining like this “

Actually you do, just visit DU or DailyKos.

That said I think it’s counterproductive. When I see at DU or DailyKos I am pleased.

Didn’t we just get a peek behind the curtain when the oh so conservative, Republican Texas legislature and Governor Rick Perry threw in the towel to illegal aliens and their cheap labor rich supporters Bob Perry, millionaire builder of Perry Homes and Charles Butt (God gave you the name you deserve)of H-E-B Grocery/Central Market. Thank you Jesus! At last the truth comes out. I was hoping that the open borders traitors would finally do something like this and get caught at it. The Dallas and Houston papers had articles on this along with comments from the public. I am sure that the radio shows had a blast with this. Lets see if Texans have the same fighting spirit as their ancestors. Davy Crockett must be rolling in his grave.

Now if we could only catch the Dems plotting behind close doors admitting to wanting amnesty so they can harvest all those millions of new voters.

The illegal alien problem is what shows the hypocrisy and treachery that goes on behind the scenes. We do NOT own our government. We do NOT have the power just because we go out like deluded fools every couple of years and put our x next to liar #1 or liar #2. There are few real people in politics, mostly they are just good at smiling and lying.

Gaining a beachhead is to first realize that not all that glitters is gold and not all who talk like conservatives really are conservatives. We have been lied to and fooled for years. We like to laugh at the Democrats for falling for Obama but we have been voting for clowns as well. Do not believe everything they tell you. Do NOT go with your gut. Your gut lies. They know how to appeal to your gut instinct by using the right words which they already know will appeal to you because they have done all the research on you and they have you down to a demographic subgroup. They probably even know what kind of toilet paper you use. It is called market reseach and they are always doing market research on us—”The better to fool you with, my dear”.

Totally agree. We need a movement not another party. It would be impossible to come up with a new party after a hundred and fifty years. They just have too much organization, money, structure and party loyalty. But we can be part of a movement which makes the party answer to us. A movement is like the ocean and a political party is like a boat. The ocean moves the boat, the boat does not move the ocean.

A word of caution, the Christian Coalition and other conservative groups tried to make a difference in the Republican Party but they were co-opted by the shape-shifters in politics. Creatures like Newt Gingrich used the Christian conservatives for their own career benefit. Now, hopefully, Christians and others will not be naive. We have had an imposter government for GENERATIONS! The truth is now coming out to the public because the destruction of the nation due to deception is now impossible to deny. For all our lives we have had a complacent “It can’t happen here.” attitude. Now many of us are waking up in shock. I am glad that I am disillusioned with our pseudo American system even though it is very painful. I would rather deal with the pain than go back to my comfortable, feel good delusional patriotism. Today my patriotism is more realistic and hard-headed much like the patriotism of the Founding Fathers who were nobody’s fools. We have been gullible and easily fooled but every day more people are waking up.

Speaking of the far left Democrats swallowing up the other Democrats—back in 2004 when the Republicans had their presidential campaign in New York City, the Dems put on a 4 hour street protest march that was estimated at 40,000 people. Some parts of NYC are commie central.

What were they saying about McClintock? Oh, but he can’t win, you have to vote for Ah-nold. Same old baloney.

“We need a movement not another party. It would be impossible to come up with a new party after a hundred and fifty years.”

The left would love for us to abandon the GOP. I will abandon the liberal Republicans, but like the Tea Party, will work to get rid of liberal Republicans, not the Republican Party. That’s how we win.

The cold, hard facts are blacks constitute maybe as much as 40% of the regular Democrat vote. In some communities they are over 50% and because of that they control party offices (ward, precinct, county, city chairmanships, state committee members, etc.).

If you took out the Commies (far leftwingtards) and the blacks there's little left of the Democrat party at the operating level. There are more at the voting level, but the red/black coalition makes sure they don't get to run anything.

There are still plenty of elected RINOs in Texas. Has that been a win for the Democrats?

Very interesting journey by Mary Ann Kreitzer there. Hated to hear it ended in her quitting. Maybe she wouldn’t have gotten so down that she gave up, had she not been located in an area where the economy is totally based on the existence of Big Federal Government and every other person you see is employed by the Federal Government and everyone else is depending upon the prosperous Federal Government Employees to be their customers.

I still think Scott Brown is preferable to Martha Coakley. Well, the two-party system is still the only system we have. It is enshrined in the various states’ statutory laws and the Federal Election Code. If we didn’t have nearly half of all Republican Party precinct chairs nationwide vacant due to lack of interest by conservatives, perhaps we would not be in this fix.

We have to vote for what we believe to be the true conservative during the primary and do not compromise. Support the conservative with whatever money you can give, cross your fingers and hope that he or she wins. If the conservative wins the primary than support him or her in every way you can. However if the RINO wins the primary, do not stay home and sulk. Do not say, it is better if the Democrats win and everything collapses, then people will wake up and vote Republican. This is suicidal thinking. It is the far left wing of the Democratic party that wants to “bring it all down”. They are the destroyers, not us. If a RINO is all that you have to vote for in the final elections, then vote for him by all means. But it is not over after the election, keep on the RINO or even the Democrats tail, if the Democrat should happen to win, and let them know what you think. Go to their offices or local appearances and let them know that you are there. Let your presence be known. It is not just about voting every few years, every day brings and opportunity to lobby for your beliefs. Just think of those hags from hell Code Pink, they practically camp out at the Capitol.

I hear you, but I don’t want to paint all blacks with that brush.

Whereas I am happy to paint all homosexuals and union supporters with the same liberal brush. They have chosen their path.

You don't want to suggest that blacks vote 95% Democrat and effectively control the Democrat party?

Well, OK, I'll suggest that.

Is that better? You don't need to worry about it at all.
