Don’s been yelling about high property taxes on his modest home in Cook County, but old Don still refuses to accept that his current woes are based simply upon that for the past 40 years, Don voted consistently for the bosses and the machine, believing they’d take care of him.
Poor Don. It couldn’t happen to a better person.
At a work-related meeting today I had to listen to several folks who were homeless explaining that the other homeless folks they hang with are their ‘family’ now, and when another homeless dude said he had no regrets because homelessness ‘made me the man I am today,” some of my fellow employees were applauding him.
I got dirty looks because I didn’t go along with this feel-good garbage.
About ten minutes after leaving the meeting, I walked past none other than Bukowski’s in Cambridge. Man, that bunch would have given them a standing ovation, tears in their eyes.
The DUmmies on that thread have zero—zero—understanding about these ‘programs’ they’re always going on about. They use tax dollars to promote homeless folks maintaining this alternate lifestyle of theirs. And why? Because, as was repeated at this meeting, they can’t be JUDGMENTAL.
Oh please.... the republicans want to take your social security, get rid of medicare, take all your money and property and even the gold in your teeth, blah blah blah. This is just sooooooooooooooo old. GET A LIFE PEOPLE!!!!

Amen to both of your replies... I’m tired of the Democrats saying that depriving me of my rights, and stealing my hard-earned money is somehow going to “help” me and my family. EVERY time I hear “but this will help the poor” I brace for something else that will make it even harder to get by. Somehow they think I should WANT to make everyone else be forced to pay for situations I have found myself in (some my own fault - some not so much)... SO frustrating! Plus, when I hear liberals talk about themselves being poor I have to wonder how much they really understand. Most of them couldn’t fathom going without - which is why they are so envious of those they perceive to be doing “better” than they themselves...

I see a dead woodchuck by the side of the road almost every time my poor hungry chauffeur drives my Bentley and me in to town from my perfectly manicured estate in the country. If I were to collect the woodchucks and take them to the local homeless shelter I might be able to free myself from this irresistible urge to starve poor people to death and plow them into my private 18 hole golf course.
I use the back nine to dispose of poor people and their brood of filthy starving urchins because I'm too rich and powerful to muck around with a garden. Why should I dirty my rich lily-white hands and chance losing a diamond ring in the dirt when I can get plenty of Bush-era poor people to do it for a crust of stale bread? When they collapse from hunger I simply order the others to stack their bodies neatly beside the wood chipper and then get back to work. If they dare to start grumbling my overseer breaks out the cat of nine tails and restores order. Ah yes, aint life grand when you're a rich and powerful white Republithug??

We are poor by the SRCM's (state run communist media) standards, but rich enough to make it on our own. I'll admit that I voted for jimmah catta, but practically everyone in Texas was a dim back then. That was the last dim I ever voted for, and wouldn't pull the lever for a dim for crapper cleaner.
