I was watching a congressional hearing on Somali resettlements. Here are some things that I picked up; there is a long drought in Somali, there is warfare going on, Somali refugees are being resettled in Kenya and Ethiopia.

Why are they being resettled in Kenya and Ethiopia? Isn’t that just destablizing those two neighboring countries? Ethiopia and Kenya have Christian populations, don’t they know that this will cause trouble between the groups? Somalia is a large country, are there not safer areas within the country where they could put these refugee camps? And why do they have to bring them here? Why can’t they be resettled within their own country? Isn’t it wasteful to spend a thousand dollars flying one refugee on a plane to America when that thousand dollars could have fed a thousand people for a day?

Rep. Christ Smith of New Jersey is on the committee. He seems like a nice guy and is very pro life but it seems like he might be a little naive.

Another question, since the Somalis often end up working in meat processing plants, could there be some deal going on between the meat processors and the government. For instance, could they be getting a big fat tax discount for hiring the Somalis? Could the Democrats be behind this as they will always scheme to find ways of benefitting themselves. For instance, let’s say that Tyson Foods, gets a tax write-off, they in turn give some of the money back to the Democrats as campaign contributions, the Somalis get on welfare which enlarges the Democrat controlled welfare bureaucracy. The Democrats get to direct where the Somalis are located so that they can sabotage the conservative Christian areas. Catholic Charities and the Lutheran social services are very involved in the movement of refugees. Notice that both churches are traditionally connected with the Democratic party. Most Catholics have traditionally voted Democrat and there are many Lutherans in states such as Minnesota which is a traditionally very liberal state.

Of course - those “food stamps” are actually a loaded credit on a debit card (to supposedly protect the dignity and privacy of the recipient). Ever been in line behind someone who uses one of those cards to buy a cart full of meats, then whip out a roll of cash to buy a case of beer, several cartons of cigarettes, and various other things that the “food stamp” card won’t buy?

I have seen people spend a couple $ on meats and NAME BRAND veggies (when the store brand would have gotten them twice the food...), then spend more than double that on alcoholic drinks, tobacco, and other stuff.... what could have been used to FEED THE FAMILY. But no - uncle Sugar buys their food so they can still live the “big life”.
