Carney: Obama a better leader for not proposing debt ceiling plan
The Daily Caller ^ | 7/19/11 | Neil Munro

White House spokesman Jay Carney today argued that President Barack Obama is a better leader for not proposing a debt-ceiling plan that can be debated and voted on by elected legislators in the House of Representatives.

“Leadership is not proposing a plan for the sake of having it voted up or down, and likely voted down,” he told ABC News’ Jake Tapper, who has spent a week fruitlessly pressing Carney to detail the administration’s budget proposals.

Since the start of the debt-ceiling negotiations, the president has refused to develop a detailed plan that could be measured or criticized by voters, D.C. advocates and legislators.

Obama’s closed-door strategy stands in sharp contrast to the very transparent and formal course taken by Republican Rep. Paul Ryan, the chairman of the House Budget Committee. He developed a detailed budget plan, and persuaded a sharply divided House to vote it up, not down.

Up is down.
Black is white.
Leadership is not leading.

Reminds me of a book I once read...

Why lead, when it involves work and responsibility?

He can count on a fawning press, and he’ll just push to the front of which ever line appears to be the best.

So his vote against the debt ceiling in 2006 is now different in what way exactly?

Leading from behind. Leading by following. Gee, write those words in stone because this bozo said it,...it must be correct. He has a planned destruction for the USA. If this bastard is not defeated in the election this republic is over.

Guess we’re all supposed to go into a hypnotic trance and just accept whatever b.s. they spew. In fact, that’s pretty much what the MSM has done ever since zero appeared on the scene.

As a senator, Barack Obama said in 2006 that a bill to raise the debt limit was “a sign of leadership failure.”

Carney (the official administration barker) should review his conferences. I’ve never seen anyone of the past water carriers for the Democratic presidents look, act or speak as foolishly as Carney. The only one I’ve seen even come close to this clown was Bagdad Bob!

Better leader than whom, Mao Tse Tung? LOL.

Well, the White House grows more absurd by the day. Now Carney assures us that a lack of leadership is, in fact, evidence of strong leadership! Coming soon: Obama will have a midday press conference where he assures us that Black is White, Up is Down, and Right is Wrong!

Actually, I think, Biden has tried that before.

LOL! I can just imagine how the MSM would respond to that kind of comment from a Republican president’s spokesperson.

[Carney: Obama a better leader for not proposing debt ceiling plan]

This reminds me of emailing with a former friend who became a flaming liberal lawyer. I would forward articles both religious and Conservative to him and sometimes I would comment on them.
He always took the position of an atheist in anything religious I sent and strongly backed the A.C.L.U position of keeping viewing of the Cross and wording referring to the Diety out of public view.
In politics of course he would always take the extreme liberal point of view to rebut what I sent him. It was always a one-way street. I would send things, and he would make mostly nasty comments about them. I say one-way, because he never sent anything along to me that he was proud of or endorsed.
I finally called him on his cowardice in very strong terms. I challenged by saying that I would like him to offer up something that he and the libs were for so that I could have have the chance of cutting it to ribbons.
After that silence. That is when I wrote him a Sayonara email and even said I would still pray for his rotten soul.

On Mark Levin's show, Jeff Sessions (R-AL) claims Reid plans to hold a vote on Cut, Cap & Balance on Saturday.

He thinks all Republicans will vote for it but not even 1 Democrat will vote for it.

Says "Gang of Six" is at best 1 to 1, cut to tax hike according to the handout he was given.
