Jesusopatriot crusader Anders Breivik (aka Andrew Berwick) comes to the defense of Our Lady of the All Caps Screech, Pam Geller and friends in his Manifesto (p. 625):
I have watched, for the better part of a year, a number of decent human beings including, but not limited to, Pamela Geller, Paul Belien, Diana West, the Baron and Dymphna from the Gates of Vienna blog and many others, being at the receiving end of a vicious smear campaign from Charles Johnson and Little Green Footballs which is unlike anything I have seen in my life.

How convenient.
I know. And in beautiful American English, even, with all kinds of slang. Does anyone wonder at that?
How long til someone finds a “convenient” letter written by this guy where he says his favorite book is “Going Rogue” you know its coming
Yep, and the anti Israel Pali rally on Labour yute island a couple day ago??
Hollywood screen writers couldn't do better.
The Norwegian didn’t write that he reprinted one of Fjordman’s essays

He was not a Marxist. He hated Marxism in all its forms. I’ve only just begun to read his manifesto abd have so far found nothing to disagree with. His solution was wrong and horrific, but his thinking and research were not incorrect.
I will let you know if I find something to the contrary as I read.

abd=and sorry
He had no reason to have so thoroughly mastered the American idiom. Even very frequent reading of it online wouldn’t have substituted for living here, for a number of years. And of those who have, even they still flub it.
Our language is an odd hybrid with everchanging popular slang and multiple, overlapping dialects that subconsciously tell us more than we realize about any given individual writer or speaker. It’s very hard to convincingly wield for a non-native.
The whole situation seems just a tad ... contrived, doesn’t it? And at such an opportune moment in time, too.
It’s almost as if white Christian conservatives are being pre-demonized for what’s to come, isn’t it? At the risk of invoking Godwin’s Law, I wonder if there are any decent books or even online accounts, from those who remember the early years of the Reich and the buildup to all the ugliness, the ghettos and the hell that followed. I wonder if this sounds somehow familiar to them, if they’re still around.
We’re teetering on a repeat of the Great Depression. Severe economic crises led to strongmen leaders, scapegoating and world war, then. All these seeming coincidences might seem to point in that direction now. Tell me I’m overthinking this so I can just dismiss it, it’s a disturbing line of thought.
Let me guess.. he also is fan of Glen Beck, Michael Savage, Mark Levin . . . .
She must be thrilled.
Yep. Getting kind of smelly.

Or a picture of him and G Bush.
We know “W” is behind this....
A quote from his Manifesto: “Though some pundits have claimed that the prevalence of the ideological intolerance known as political correctness has been exaggerated, the opposite is closer to the truth. Political correctness has become so deeply ingrained in Western European and American
higher education that many campuses are now dominated by an atmosphere of uncertainty and apprehension. An increasing number of dedicated students and faculty
members now live in fear that their intellectual pursuit of truth will offend the Grand Inquisitors of political correctness.”
With all the Knights Templar connections could it be long before Tom Hanks has a new movie out?
There is an intellectual disconnect here. Many of his ideas appear completely reasonable, then he kills 90+ children.
Where is the logical or illogical connection?
I’m not buying it.
There’s something rotten in Norway.
That actually makes more sense. Especially one was to manufacture a terrorist to pin on the opponents of the administration.
The writer is a native US speaker. Unless this guy is from the US, the author is no more Norwegian than I am.
I heard he listened to Rush on the internet too.
The signs and symbols point to Blockbuster.
Having friends from all over the world, unless this person has lived for a recently extended period of time in the US, he will invariably fall into idiomatic speech more comfortable for him, even in written form.
This smells like a bad spy movie.
That line is actually from T. Kenneth Cribb Jr.

The leftist drum is beating very loudly now. Let us see what the politicians do with it.
I agree with you that he went over the edge of sanity. Also, his clear thinking eroded when he decided that killing innocents would help any movement against Marxism or Islamism. He lost the ability to see the final cause & effect of his actions.
Agreed. The pages that I have read of Berwick’s Manifesto reflect deep research and rational thought about a serious problem. The Unabomber was misguided, in both thought and action. Berwick’s methods are abominable, but his thoughts are as profound, if not as humorous, as those of Mark Steyn.
L O L !
Very simply, I guess what I’me trying to say is that insanity can appear anywhere, even in intelligent, right-thinking people. It does us no good to deny it. Instead, we have to study and figure out the best way to prevent another such occurrence. He was right about the stifling of speech by the MSM. Perhaps that is where we need to direct our efforts. It is my feeling that the MSM is somewhat culpable because they do try to stifle speech. Perhaps this wouldn’t have happened if he felt his voice was being heard seriously, rather than ridiculed.
2 typos in half an hour - time for me to hit the sack.
Ladies and gentlemen, take 10 paces turn and fire!

And, BTW, that Sea, across which she (or anyone who goes there) can see Russia .... What is it called? LOL!

Gambell, Alaska. Those blue mountains across the Bering Strait are in Russia.
Kaczynski wrote like a madman. The crazy was all over every page.
Breivik doesn’t. He’s eloquent and clear-headed. Even the sections where he’s plotting attacks read like a really well-written walk-through for a Fallout video game or something. It’s surreal.
This is a really uncomfortable reading experience.
The first part of the manifesto is philosophy. The second part is a training manual for all-out — and I mean all-out — war against the enemy, which he sees as Cultural Marxism (including multiculturalism) and Islam. He invokes a principle of proportionality. He counts 45,000 who have been killed by Islam and political correctness in Europe, and 1 million injured. He thinks perhaps his army shouldn’t inflict much more damage than that. He has second thoughts, however, when he also tabulates the millions killed by abortion.
This manifesto really is a unilateral declaration of independence for Europeans, combined with a massively violent recipe for making it real. Scary stuff.
Were any of his victims shot in the face? We know that would mean he was a student of Dick Cheney.../sarc
I haven’t gotten far into the reading of it yet, so I appreciate your input. Unfortunately, TWC cut my Internet and phone last night, so I’m behind on my reading.
We should not extrapolate European problems onto ourselves. Most of our ancestors left Europe. And they left their European problems in Europe. This incident to me was a political attack and represents an escalation of civil war within the European continent. There is a reason the Euro is failing. Perhaps another great European purge has begun or is looking for justification.
Berwick is the West’s self-appointed Bin Laden. God help us.
The thing is that much of the writing in the manifesto is spot on in its analysis of Islam, the threat posed to Western culture and democratic systems of government by multiculturalism and by Marxism and their sympathizers. There is little evidence in the first 800 or so pages that this is guy who would become so radicalized he would shoot up and blow up innocent people.
He strongly defends and argues in favor of the constitutional rights we enjoy in the United States. He rejects Nazism and other “hateful” ideologies. He shows understandable alarm at the loss of freedoms in the name of tolerance. None of these would be foreign to conservative philosophy. You can tell he researched his subject very well and the argument he presents in favor of protecting Western culture is one I would not fault.
However later in the manifesto he starts getting more heavily into a ultra nationalist argument with comparisons to Custer and Sitting Bull (he sees himself as a Sitting Bull against the Custer of Islam) and you can see a growing acceptance of armed resistance and action to reach his goals. When he starts his Templar Knights I think it is a safe bet to say he went off the rails big time.
The point being he was right about many things but for whatever reason he failed to grasp that the crimes he committed were the complete antithesis of the philosophy he claimed to believe.
One of the ideals Western culture rests on is the ideal of being a system of laws not of men. His crimes went against that 100%.
Many Europeans do learn English very early in the course of their education. My father spoke both German and English and you would never think that he spoke mostly German at home growing up had you read his writings.
I think an erosion in his thoughts can be glimpsed here and there even in the earlier writing of the manifesto. The first glitch I noticed was an enthusiasm for Neitzsche. The second was the growing embrace of ultra Nationalism and his comparing himself to Sitting Bull. Not overly alarming in and of themselves. But it is more logical to progress from the philosophy of Neitssche and the massacre at Little Big Horn to killing 90 innocent people than it is get there from a defense of Western culture.
“The point being he was right about many things but for whatever reason he failed to grasp that the crimes he committed were the complete antithesis of the philosophy he claimed to believe.

Agree. 100%.
Haven’t gotten there yet, but that’s what I’m looking for - the turning point. Thank you.
At first blush, it would seem he believed the leftists were responsible for leaving Norway “defensless,” againt the muslims. Therefore, he struck at them rather than the muslims, themselves.
I think you are exactly right, He struck at those he considered responsible. The horrible thing is that he seemed to want to try to destroy the ideology by killing their children.
Actually, I think he just wanted to “punish” them more than anything else.
I don’t see any reason to believe he thought his plan was any grander than that....
I guess we will have to suffer through 1,500 pages of manifesto being parsed for the ‘good parts’ by all our enemies for the next few months.
OK, but do Norwegians call anyone in their home country coloured?
Exactly how popular are American websites across the big pond? Would he have picked up expression like MSM? Political correctness?
How many Norwegian exchange students attend Stanford, or any
US University? Rather than select examples of political correctness at US Universities, I would think a European might say, “Watch out America, what you’ve gotten is just the beginning. We’re further along the political correctness path than you” and picked examples in his native country.
Any Europeans out there? Does this look like something written by a native son to you?
Given that Breivik was well educated in a country which has a high standard of English education, and may have spent substantial time in the US, I’m not surprised by his standard of English.
...at least, not after I take into account the large sections Breivik plagiarized from native English speakers. Document.no has a post up comparing the 2083 Manifesto to the Unibomber’s Manifesto: http://www.document.no/2011/07/behring-breivik-kopierte-una-bomberen/ It looks like he did a search/replace of Leftist/Cultural Marxist and Left/multicultural.
Nachum said that some was copied from Fjordman, and I think we should expect to find that other sections were copied from Geller, Malkin, Limbaugh, Buchanan and others.
Can this guy even speak English let alone read and write it.
I think there’s some clever hacking going on
