I’m beginning to think using our brains on here is a sin to some.
Try not to worry. I think Sarah is, and has been, in “school” during her down time this summer. She is getting ready for the battle. At this point in time, she is playing the “gadfly” roll, by criticizing the prsident and nudging the republicans. She, out of necessity, is saving her solutions for the campaign and debates. the head can hold only so much. From reading her books and books about her by people who have worked with her, she will be the type of executive who calls in all the opposing sides and listens to their arguments, then she makes an informed decision and sticks to it. She is not arbitrary, but a negotiator. Because of that she will make some people mad, but she will stick to her guns.
So, you honestly believe that Palin is of such low character, and so small-minded, that she would flagrantly hold the support of millions of people hostage for all these months while she dithered and dallied around with this question?
That's not just a misjudgment of her character, it's an outright slander. No one who's watched this woman closely over the last two and a half years would draw that conclusion about her.
Your teeth-baring contempt for her, shows me that you've bought in to the MSM lies about this able patriot, hook line and sinker.
No I don’t she is of low character which is exactly why I don’t think she has made up her mind. However, I do think that some of her supporters think she has and will run. Some others think she has and won’t run. I just wish she would get it over with and stop the wondering.
FWIW, I don’t believe the MSM nor do I even watch TV so I have no idea what people say about her other than what I see on here.
And frankly, I am damn sick of being accused of being Anti-Palin just because I have some questions that I think need to be answered. I’m in the ‘fish or cut bait’ category, with all potential candidates (like Perry). The sooner we know for sure who is running and who isn’t the sooner we can get on to what really matters.
And when I mean I don’t watch TV, I mean I don’t watch it AT ALL. We have a TV but we do not pay the evil socialists for the ‘privilege’ of being brainwashed. No cable, no antenna, no Satellite, no desire. We have been TV free for over 3 years now.
Our TV is hooked up only to our DVD player and we mostly have movies made before the end of the Hays Code (1968). The exceptions Star Wars, Indiana Jones Movies, a couple of Shakespeare productions (BBC and Kenneth Branaugh) and TV shows (Muppets and Monk - both were gifts).
Currently, we are watching South Pacific (also a gift).
So to claim I have bought into the lies the MSM spouts about anyone or anything is ridiculous.
Frankly, I am so disgusted with modern ‘entertainment’ that I do not bother, and most so called News programming is just trash entertainment.

Free Republic itself is literally crawling with sleeper trolls and paid political operatives. Just like every other right-wing gathering place. I dare say that Palin and other stand out conservatives are attacked as much here, as they are at liberal forums.

Well, I don’t listen to the radio, even talk radio, don’t read blogs or online news articles. I get my info from FR and you are right that it is crawling with sleeper trolls but they usually don’t last long.
However, I have found one or two recently, with old sign on dates that I think aren’t who they say they are and are trying to divide conservatives and smear them. This vitriol is directed at individual freepers though, rather than a candidate, at least what I have seen in the past few days. I will see what develops with them and who they start attacking next.
If you read at FR, then you're reading blog posts and articles from the MSM all the time; ergo, you're at risk of inadvertently consuming left-wing talking points. We're inundated with liberal views everywhere we turn, and much of it is insidiously subliminal.
What's especially harmful, is when posters who claim to be conservatives begin parroting those left-wing talking points in overt fashion on the forum. It's all too easy for others to fall for, when they believe it's coming from one of their own.
One thing I learned by being Mormon and leaving, was to think for myself and assume everyone is lying. Verify EVERYTHING as much as possible.
As a professional Historian, it is an automatic occupational hazard to look for bias and analyze things that way.
What is worse, IMO, is when people who claim to be conservative use the trust on these forums to deliberately slander others.
WE THE PEOPLE waited for the establishment to act, and look what they did to the economy! “Compassionate Conservative” turned out to be slightly to the right of liberal. RINOS...and they want to now lead? They had their chance and they screwed up! Now, it is time for the RINO'S to take their place at the back of the bus.
America and WE THE PEOPLE need a leader. Sarah will lead, they will follow, or get the hell out of her way.
I hope she announces that she is in on Obama’s birthday, August 4th. That would remove that arrogant smile off his face. I wonder if it would be proper for Sarah to slap that smile off his arrogant face. I guess that would be out of order.
Sarah is going to run! I have almost completed her book, America By Heart. If you haven't read it, you should. Sarah is quite a lady. My kind of President!

I do not think Bachman is even close to being on the same level as Sarah Palin. I call her Copycat Bachman...she has made herself look like Sarah, but she can’t reproduce Sarah’s heart and personality. I would like to see Sarah run with a man...though I am a woman, I think a man would be a good balance on the ticket...maybe DeMint or New Orleans governor
Bobby Gindal. Bobby is a very hard worker, very smart, and the first Indian at such a high office would be awesome. He would not overshadow Sarah, but be such a great complement!! Jim Demint is also good, but I tend to favor Bobby. Sarah and Bobby for a Restored America!!!
I believe if Mrs. Palin were elected I wouldd feel like it was once again ‘Morning in America’, just as when President Regan said. I would feel the same about Mrs.Bachman.
