What does John McCain Have Against Tea Party Hobbits?
The Looking Spoon ^ | 7-29-11 | Jared H. McAndersen

Posted on 07/29/2011 3:03:52 PM PDT by The Looking Spoon

The fiery, independent version of the Republican senator from Arizona took to the floor of the Senate Wednesday morning. Demanding “straight talk,” Mr. McCain accused conservatives of abandoning reason by opposing the House Republican leader’s plan to resolve the debt crisis.

Mr. McCain mocked Tea Party-allied Republicans in the House for believing — wrongly, he said — that President Obama and Democrats will get the blame for a default if Republicans refuse to increase the nation’s debt ceiling.

By that flawed logic, “Democrats would have no choice but to pass a balanced budget amendment and reform entitlements and the Tea Party Hobbits could return to Middle Earth,” he said, quoting a Wall Street Journal editorial.

From The New York Times

Maybe this is some liberal psyche out, they're not too sharp when it comes to anything related to the Tea Party anyway. Maybe the Wall Street Journal thinks they're ignorant of of Tolkien mythology as well.

Think about it. "Tea Party Hobbits?" Is that supposed to be an insult? The Hobbits win in the epic Lord of the Rings story!

Well, not all of them. There are RINO's, and then there's...

Why does McRat hate the Tea Party? — The Senate primary in AZ is over, that’s why. He doesn’t have to speak well of them again for six more years. Well, probably never since McTurd will surely hang it up then.

That's hilarious. The picture.

Mr. McCain mocked Tea Party-allied Republicans in the House for believing — wrongly, he said — that President Obama and Democrats will get the blame for a default if Republicans refuse to increase the nation’s debt ceiling.

This the same guy while on the campaign trail told his supporters not to fear Obama. Just shut up McCain. Have somebody wake you up to say "present" and go back to sleep.

PS: You are a Democrat. Now go back to sleep and do whatever Pelosi orders you to do in between naps.

Frankly I could not care less about what Juan McLame has to say about anything.

He is responsible for the FACT that we have a Muslim Infiltrator sitting in OUR White House.

If he can’t act with a degree of humility and remorse, then he could at least shut the hell up and go back to Arizona and live in retirement.

I’m sorry that I voted for the asshat.

“The Shire seemed like an awfully nice place to live.”

Sure did. One thing I knew but never really pondered in this context, is that they had a small government (figuratively and literally).

Government in the Shire was very limited, and thinking about it now, it reminds me very much of the early days of the US. There was a postal service, and a number of Shirriffs to keep the peace, along with the Bounders, who were kind of like militiamen, called up to defend the Shire as needed.

There are really only 2 government offices mentioned in the books for the Shire, the Thain, and the Mayor of Michel Delving. The Thain was a title of nobility, passed down hereditarily, and was pretty much like commander-in-chief, but symbolic in peaceful times. The Mayor was elected, and ran the post office and the police forces.

Other than that, the hobbits pretty much governed themselves, with families and clans having their own authority figures who probably settled most disputes. Besides the hereditary Thain, it probably wasn’t much different from an early, mostly rural America with its limited government.

They even had the right to keep and bear arms, and the episode with Farmer Maggot demonstrates the “Castle doctrine” as well: he caught the hobbits stealing his produce on his land, and he would have been well within his rights to order his dogs to kill them if he wanted to!

Let’s not get carried in our praise for Juan McLame. Mayhap he is a character in LOTR after all, a minor one, a Saurman stooge by the name of Bill Ferny. One of the hobbits dispatched him with an apple.

Did he ever repay the gubmint for the plane he lost over Hanoi? The soldiers caught hell for losing weapons, what about Juan?

Sarah Palin is a hobbit. He chose her as his VP. Just more proof he was not serious about the Presidency. In fact, I think he was a plant of the dems.

“60/40 against. He can do more damage to the nation as a Republican, so he’ll stay put.”

I tend to agree. We’ll need to elect enough patriots in the party to formally throw this traitor/Manchurian candidate out of the Republican party. He’s had a thousand chances to join the side of patriotism and refuses to do so. He’s a mad dog.

I can’t think of a single thing he’s done for the good of this country since Vietnam. If someone has a list of the “Good and Patriotic Deeds of John McCain,” I’m all ears.
