“Medical Marijuana” Sends Mixed-Messages To Teens

While Colorado’s soft on marijuana laws, were welcomed by adults-first libertarians, so-called unexpected costs are being felt.

“The dark side of the issue, however, is the unintended consequences on Colorado’s young people,” reports Our Colorado News. “Since the state legalized marijuana for medical use, treatment centers are treating more teens for marijuana addiction, according to a report from Thomas Crowley, director of the Division of Substance Dependence at the University of Colorado.”

The consequences are alarming: “Denver Health Medical Center reports that treatment referrals have tripled, with 83 percent of the teens that smoke marijuana daily saying they obtained it from a medical-marijuana card holder, Crowley reports.”

One major issue: “With alcohol you have to have somebody buy it for you, but with weed, you just go get it,” explains Woodland Park High School, Kasey Allen, founding member of Students Against Destructive Decisions.

“Medical Marijuana” is a joke.

In some places the quack works for the pot shop, is that even legally “medicine”? Can Merk and other drug companies send out quacks to sit at a table at MerckStop and prescribe you their medicine without a real examination?

Probably violates every medical ethics rule out there

They have been doing that for at least 50 years.

The US consumes, per capita, more of every prescription drug in existence. We put 11 year old boys on hard, psychoactive drugs at the insistence of the school district. Your grandparents, if they are still alive, are on an average of 5 drugs right now.

Remember when you could advertise cigarettes on TV but you couldn’t advertise pharmaceuticals on TV?

Marketing...it is all about marketing ideas. They have been drugging the American people, esp. children into a stupor to ruin their minds so they become little obamabots and Acorn thugs.

Advertising drugs on tv escalated drug use by 500% at least.....

Incompetent parents and teachers are encouraged to drug children because they can’t parent and can’t teach or their children aren’t getting the proper nutrition or exercise. Such a shame.

Same with older people...no exercise and proper nutrition-—put them on drugs to cover up their symptoms. Disgusting. Easy way out.

LOL, you're using Big Pharma's connections to the medical industry as an example of medical ethics?

LOL, you've got brass ones, that's for sure.

Yep, 100 percent correct sir, the crap they unload on us in the name of progress usually is no more than the companies needs to get another patent, I have personally seen the FDA labs evaluate drugs and using machinery which was not proven on calibration standards. IE, total BS...It should be up to citizens to decide if they want to use marijuana instead of zoloft etc....
There is nothing Christian about putting folks in jail and confiscating their homes, whether you smoke or not..it is pure oppression..
I have not smoked pot since I was 22, I am 56 now, I do not advocate its use, but we should be free to choose for ourselves..

I thought it was the economy that had made them leave but I said that to a friend of mine who is up on all the latest regarding the new MM laws here and he said “No, it’s MM. They can’t sell their low-grade Mexican to anyone anymore so they left.”
