Does anyone have an updsate on whether or not Barack Obama had ordered the Flag to be flown at half-staff at the White House in honor of the death of the Navy Seals in Afghanistan?

Oh I agree. I can’t see him having that kind of decency. He hates the military so I’m sure he’ll do whatever snide little thing he can to insult them. At every opportunity.

Couldn’t wait to endanger the families by getting their names out there as well. Every soldier/vet I know is hella pissed off at the release of those names.

What would cause Obama to think of the American Flag?
He already mentioned the troops in a speech, which is likely more than he was personally inclined.

He probably hasn’t even thought about it. He got his photo op yesterday.

If anything would happen to a single member of any of those families, .....
Never mind. The new Gestapo has ears everywhere.

I wouldn’t worry too much. Thanks to Echelon I’m sure the Ministry of Love has a nice room picked out for most conservatives already. Just a matter of time before we’re in it.

He has to look like the CINC. Blah. That’s the only reason for the photo and it will probably be used in a campaign ad...just watch.

I believe it. He is that disgustingly low. I cannot stand what he is doing to all of us. The liberals are to stupid to see it, but we aren’t.

Did anyone here live through WWII on the home front? If it were required to half-mast Old Glory every time we experienced some battlefield KIA she would have been half-masted continually for about four and a half years. Of course, we did not get nearly real time reports of battlefield casualties. The 2,000 or so that died in a single training exercise accident in preparation for the Normandy landings, and other events of like lethal dimensions were not made public until long after their occurrence; something about not telling our enemies things they should not be told.

I don’t believe you can fly the flag at half mast because of the event with the SEALS. If you do you need to fly it at half mast for every dead soldier. The SEALS are a special group but any man or woman that wears the uniform and dies deserves the same respect.

Don’t be silly. The military doesn’t have time right now to deal with mino stuff like this. Right now their top priority is forcing all military personnel to attend gay brainwashing diversity classes. All “military” stuff, you know, like fighting wars and protecting the troops is on the back burner right now.

Heck, we lost over 22K KIA in 68-69 with Walter telling the public the body count at 5PM daily. No half mast.

Obama needs to be hung or some senior CO does as you don’t use SEALS for a reaction force. The Rangers would be ideal for that mission were the SEALS in deep kimchie.

What were Army NG pilots doing flying SPEC OPS? What idiot puts 30 or so SEALS on one huge lumbering aircraft? Hell you don’t put all your men on one chopper unless it is a small unit. Even then you have other slicks and guns. Why the hell didn’t the Rangers call for air support? Has Obama agreed to play by the enemy’s rules and take away TAC AIR?

My flag is at half mast when I think it is appropriate ... I'm not going to wait on a President like the one we have now to make that decision for me. It is MY country, I'll celebrate or mourn with it in my own way. (And it is at half mast now with a black ribbon for the Seals).

...and that's MY bumper sticker I "wear" on my Jeep with pride. I made it myself (no commercial effort, Elements 9 and sticky backed paper) ... and yes, I use the word "stood" when I recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

I'm 70 years old .. I know well what the flag STOOD for and I do not acknowledge what it is purported to "stand" for today!

It would seem to me that drawing a comparison between WW II and Afghanistan is a stretch. Obviously, you would not fly the flag at half-staff at every casualty count in a world-wide conflagration; however, the recent loss of the Seals and some other Americans on that helicopter was identified as the largest loss at one time since we have had our warriors in Afghanistan.

Nevertheless, I doubt that flying the flag at half-mast in honor of our deceased heroes would be giving those Islamist terrorists any secrets; however, not flying it at half-mast in their honor probably ignited some conversations among the terrorists outside and within our borders.

By the way, I’m not yet seventy, but then again I’m familiar enough with the U. S. Armed forces and the former occupants in the White House to believe that no one would have to inquire as to why the flag was not lowered in their honor by one of the former presidents.

According to recent news reports, it appears that we have lost five more warriors today (Thursday) and as you have stated, the flag cannot be lowerred at every casualty count. Nonetheless, maybe you can think of a former president who would not have ordered the flag lowered, but I cant.

You have also made me think of Barack Hussein Obama, while he was at Dover. Sometimes people say that a Picture is worth a thousand words.” The families requested that no press attend the cermony, yet Obama had his picture taken by the press while he was trying to salute.

I agree. My son served in the Marine Corps, pre-Obama; however, he just spent a year (volunteer) in Afghanistan with the Army Corps of Engineers. Thankfully he was able to get home safely.
