there’s an echo in my inbox. LOL seriously though, her victory is a victory for conservatism. Enjoy it.

I would have thought she’d get more votes than Perry, so I was guessing they were only allowed to vote for announced candidates; The only announced candidate that I know of who wasn’t listed was Johnson. I don’t think Giuliani has announced yet.

Romney is a total fraud and he’s obamacare and an abortionist pig with blood on his hands. If the idiot GOP wants to nominate him, then do it.

The Marxist will have 4 more years or a Tea Party candidate will eek-out a win!

Either way, I won’t vote for Romney.

Right, they posted a thumbs up because Romney is falling behind and per their post FARTHER AWAY from the Presidency.

Tpaw should have beaten Bachmann. He had the organization. I was surprised at the results.

Okay, good. Too bad this Iowa straw poll doesn’t mean much. Romney was a loser there in ‘08 also.

I'd like an honest answer.

If Palin were a candidate and had won, would winning this Iowa straw poll mean something?

We have such a strange method of selecting the nominees. But that’s what a 1 1/2 party system give us. In the end, the Pubbies get a milquetoast, the least offensive to the party’s activist population. Perry or Paul Enty (or both) will end up on the ticket. Unfortunately for the country. Damn RINOS.

Could you elaborate a little more on why you are not thrilled with MB? There’s been plenty of pro-con threads on Perry and Pawlenty. But not so much on Bachmann and Santorum (at least not while I’m lurking). MSM is not a good source, and the only alternatives for info are here on FR or congressional voting records. If you have handy links to share, I’d appreciate it. She obviously is a conservative voter.

I think you mean 07 and Romney won.

16892 * $30/vote - that’s $506,760 gross to the Iowa GOP.

Money that the campaigns paid for their tent-space on the grounds was likely plenty to cover the overhead costs...

Not a bad payday for the Iowa GOP - which is the real point of the day. :)

Behind the scenes you can bet that Romney was hoping Ron Paul would win this. Nothing would make this straw poll look more utterly meaningless than if Paul had won it. Heck, wouldn't surprise me if the Romney campaign was doing everything it could to help the Paul people turn out the vote. Because Bachmann won, Romney now has to concede that a real candidate beat him here in Iowa.

Herman Cain came in the top half. No one knew about him four months ago. This is good for his campaign. This might finally prove to the media that Mitt Romney is overrated. Michele Bachmann is now being taken serious as a republican candidate. Her staff did a great job. Ron Paul has the libertarian wing of the party. His staff has to stay rallied. The rest of the candidates have to seriously look at their campaign styles, and or staffs.
