Flash mobs are becoming more popular for three reasons.
1. The tribe mentality of overwhelming their target. In a tribe less chance of the victims fighting back, even if they do they will be swarmed
2. Less chance of getting caught, how many arrests for these flash mode activities have we seen?
3. The opportunity by giving the “disadvantaged” cell phones for free. We just used to pay for a home line for emergencies now through the universal service fee we give them the means to organize flash mobs.
I know we have a habit of focusing on the bad here on Free Republic, but there are millions of good Americans left. We aren’t in control and we might even be outnumbered, but there’s still hope. Hope and change? I hope we change back to traditional values, individual responsibility, and a love of liberty.
Sadly, it will take a person who has a CCW permit that is threatened and carries on his/her person to take down a flash mob person to end this nonsense.
Plus 2012 is not far away.

That is why in those states that have CCW or CCW enforced, you do not hear of this nonsense going on.
It has been some time since I looked up the stats ...
IIRC, in "shall-issue" CCW states, between 5% and 10% of the eligible population (non criminals over the age of 21) actually bother to obtain the CCW permit. Of those who bother to obtain the permit, roughly half actually carry on a regular basis. There is, of course, regional variability but on average less than 2% of the population in a shall-issue state is actually carrying at any given time and place.
Those numbers need to increase. I don't look forward to being the lone armed citizen in the face of one of these "flash-mob" crimes.

Why can’t they call the entertainment faction “sudden synchronized entertainment” and call the flash mobs “black on white wilding?”

The article left out a very important point. There was NO mention of the color of the mob participants.
You need to know. What if a heard of Amish in their wagons suddenly appeared on main street? Would you be ready to protect yourself? How about a bunch of blacks doing the same thing?
Oh, I forgot...we can’t stereotype, even if it means for our own safety.
The one state that has the largets CCW use is I believe is TX, but then again, TX is a conservative state.

Respectfully, I disagree. The “punks and little cowards” have been around firearms all their lives, many having been on the receiving end of them or knew someone that did. Most urban kids past the age of fourteen don’t see any future for themselves, especially the males, who are absolutely not afraid to fight and die.
If you could get everyone in an urban junior/high school together and ask them them the following questions:
Do you know someone that has shot someone or been shot?
Have you ever been shot at?
Have you been hit yourself?
The answers would alarm and dismay you.
You are talking about a culture where gunfire on the street is regular occurrence, where punishment for offenses is often being shot in the leg, taking the last hamburger or eating all the dark turkey at Thanksgiving will get you shot.
The first flashmob dispersed by gunfire is not the worry, its the second wave and those jokers will be armed. These “youths” are never more than a phone call or text from hard core gang members with “choppahs” (semiauto rifles). These gang members have proven they have no problem firing indiscriminately at anything that offends them. Throw in a racial component and it will get really ugly. Also CCW folk would be well advised that there is always at least one gun in those flashmobs. Many times it’s in the backpack of one of the actors.
My experience? 15 years as LEO in one of the most violent metro areas in the US. I carry two firearms daily, one open, one concealed and I am never more than 50 feet away from a rifle and a shotgun. They are not afraid of me and they aren’t afraid of any white people carrying guns either.
This is only to warn people of who they would be dealing with.

“Flash MOB” was a play on words, turning something with a negative connotation into something fun and positive. The subhumans have turned it back into something negative.
It’s a choice, people. A choice as old as humanity. Allow evil to dominate us, or make a stand.
I don’t see why they couldn’t. Definitions of words are changing all the time. My point was flash mobs (the fun kind) were around for a while before the violent events started and the term was then applied to them.
On second thought, I do see a couple reasons those names won’t work. “Sudden synchronized entertainment” isn’t exactly catchy, but maybe SSE would catch on. As for “black on white wilding,” that’s too honest to catch on with the media. They can’t even give descriptions of suspects because that would be racist. They usually don’t distribute photos or videos that include images of the perps, because then we’d know their race, which would be racist.
You’re welcome. When I hear the term “flash mob” this is the kind of flash mob I think of. There were many good flash mobs long before the term was applied to coordinated violent criminal acts.
