Posted on 09/06/2011 3:23:26 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet
A "flash point" in law-enforcement terms is "a point at which someone or something bursts suddenly into action or being." One such point sits just ahead on the horizon in America, with various leftists and anarchists preparing to mobilize all their reserves for a burst into action beginning on and around Sept. 17.
The goal appears to be to bring the Arab Spring and European-style mob action stateside. While various websites related to the events call for "peaceful" protests against government and business, the website names contain words such as "rage" and "revolution."
What is their purpose? Frankly, it doesn't seem to matter. Different causes are all interlinked with one another through their related websites. Take your pick, as plenty are provided: Do you fly off the handle at the idea of political parties being allowed to receive donations of more than a single dollar per citizen? If so, then this protest movement has you covered. Are you angry about "globalization"? Antiwar? Are you against the climate changing? Do you feel entitled to more entitlements? Has jet-setting to riots around the globe this year blown out your bank account and now you're broke? Are you out of work and don't feel like doing something productive right now to change your predicament, preferring instead to vomit your frustrations on the world in general? Are you generally annoyed with Wall Street like most of us, yet want the banks to be run by the "state" that you purport to hate? Are you looking for a vacation from logical reasoning? Are you looking for a cheap two-month camping trip with awesome security?
Excellent, come on down, Comrade 2.0, and bring your iPad -- because everything is set to kick off with a two-month "occupation" of Wall Street from which you can tweet furiously at The Man.
One of the event's websites attempts to define the mission: "On the 17th of September, we want to see 20,000 people to flood into lower Manhattan, set up tents, kitchens, peaceful barricades, and occupy Wall Street for a few months. Once there, we shall incessantly repeat one simple demand in a plurality of voices and we will not leave until that demand has been met. Like our brothers and sisters in Egypt, Greece, Spain and Iceland, we plan to use the revolutionary Arab Spring tactic of mass occupation to restore democracy in America. We also encourage the use of nonviolence to achieve our ends and maximize the safety of all participants."
What is their almighty "one demand," you ask? They haven't decided yet, but they are conducting a poll and will keep us apprised.
Attempting to set up a camp of 20,000 people in and around the most exclusive area in Manhattan, guarded by the NYPD and armored vehicles day and night, strikes me as precisely what people do when they're seeking to address something peacefully and nonviolently.
More related events are scheduled in conjunction with the Wall Street stakeout and will likely feed off of each other, as we have seen in similar worldwide events. One is set for Los Angeles on Sept. 16 and 17, and another at the Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 6.
Will it all amount to anything? It might, depending on several factors. Working against the protesters is the fact that America, unlike the U.K., for example, is a geographically massive country. Unless someone is funding the protesters' travel, logistics should prove difficult for them if they're as downtrodden as they claim to be. And as bad as things are in America, it's not Egypt or Tunisia. They do realize that their guy, Obama -- of community-organizing fame -- is in charge now, right?
Perhaps the most important factor is whether the law-enforcement authorities' attorneys will permit the preventive and reactive measures necessary to contain the event before it has the opportunity to spiral out of control.
Does anyone know of any planned counter protests/rallies anywhere on the 17th?
If they have “Public” or “Protestor-provided” WiFi access in this region, I will gladly (And easily) crack it wide open for whoever’s purposes or software to run - including data scrapes. I don’t ask any questions.
If I get enough interest in this, I’ll bring my mobile lab to the ‘street. I bet if I just setup a public wifi with the name “AFL-CIO” I’ll scrape tons of data.
Now couple this event with the recent remarks by Jimmy:
We’ve got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers, Hoffa said. And you see it everywhere, it is the tea party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they’ve got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner. It’s going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We’re going to win that war, Hoffa said.
President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let’s take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong, Hoffa said.
The following is from their website:
"Gleeful about the raging riots that held England captive this week, the tweet has gone out to activists and disaffected youth to occupy wall street Sept 17 today. Social Networks FaceBook and Twitter are abuzz with plans for coming anarchy on U.S. soil.
The Days of Rage will continue beyond the occupation of Wall Street with activists being told bring your tent.
The original "Day(s) of Rage"
Days of Rage riots (1969)
The Days of Rage riots in Chicago took place over a 4-day period beginning October 8, 1969, after members of the Weathermen, a militant offshoot of the Students for a Democratic Society, converged on the city to confront police in the streets in response to the trial of the group of anti-Vietnam War activists known as the "Chicago Eight".

Greece: massive school student attack against police stations all over the country!
By Editorial Board of "Marxistiki Foni" December 10, 2008
The masked ones, as they are known, hold informal assemblies each day, where everyone has a chance to discuss where this revolution is headed. They even debate whether it is a revolution. It is a social riot, said another gate guard, and its still going on. We dont know yet where it will lead.
And here they are with large red (communist) flags...
"After four days of struggle we can now start to draw some first clear conclusions. Without any doubt this movement deserves the title of 'teenager uprising'. We have here a new generation of tens of thousands of school students erupting in a huge explosion, the biggest for 20 years, if not even more, in Greece. We have clear symptoms of an instinctive revolutionary spirit, and a clear tendency to target not only the present bourgeois government but also the bourgeois state and the capitalist system as a whole."
OMG. I hope they really, really, pi$$ off the American people. I hope they show their true colors! "Give me everything you own, just because I want it."
Please. please act like rabid leftists. The TEA party showed the world a people of peace who want nothing more than their freedoms.
I hope the left shows the world what animals they are and want nothing but everything every one else has ever worked for!
A common Anarcho-Syndicalist flag.
In the early 20th century, anarcho-syndicalism arose as a distinct school of thought within anarchism. With greater focus on the labour movement than previous forms of anarchism, syndicalism posits radical trade unions as a potential force for revolutionary social change, replacing capitalism and the state with a new society, democratically self-managed by the workers.
Anarcho-syndicalists seek to abolish the wage system and private ownership of the means of production, which they believe lead to class divisions. Important principles include workers' solidarity, direct action (such as general strikes and workplace recuperations), and workers' self-management. This is compatible with other branches of anarchism, and anarcho-syndicalists often subscribe to anarchist communist or collectivist anarchist economic systems. Its advocates propose labour organization as a means to create the foundations of a non-hierarchical anarchist society within the current system and bring about social revolution.
Michelle Obama on the night of the 2008 election victory:
Source: TIME Magazine:
"The raised fist (also known as the clenched fist) is a salute and logo most often used by left-wing activists, such as: Marxists, anarchists, socialists, communists, pacifists, trade unionists, and black nationalists. The raised fist is usually regarded as an expression of solidarity, strength or defiance."
Exclusive: Bill Ayers Talks About Election Night in Grant Park
From NBC Chicago, Jan 21, 2009:
Bill Ayers was "overflowing with happiness, relief, love" when he and his wife went to Grant Park with tens of thousands of Chicagoans to celebrate the election of President Barack Obama.
Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, spoke exclusively with NBC Chicago's Dick Johnson about why they joined the Election Night celebration in the park, where 40 years before they helped stage the Days of Rage riots.
The couple said they got last-minute tickets from a friend to be in Grant Park that night.
"I couldn't stop crying a couple of times. I found the exact spot where I was beaten 40 years ago," Ayers said. "But I've never been in a crowd that large that wasn't edged with either anger or drunkenness or gluttony, and it was really an extraordinary feeling."
"This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who's a professor of English..."
The O'Reilly Factor confronts Bill Ayers:
October 24, 2008:
(note the red communist star, and anarcho-syndicalist red and black, on his shirt)
Bill Ayers: "I considered myself partly an anarchist then and I consider myself partly an anarchist now. I mean, I'm as much an anarchist as I am a Marxist which is to say I find a lot of the ideas in anarchism appealing."
A bunch of pimple faced teenagers pretending to be cool on their moms lap top. I doubt most of them will make it. They're not old enough to drive yet.
The only ones who'll show up are the crimminals who want to loot the city. That should go well for Obomas reelection in 2012 (not). These are his people breaking windows and running off with the "free" TV's.
What are you talking about? The commie-anarchist left have rioted here before.
The f'n DEMOCRATS are the ones that are at war with workers. Thanks largely to them, 25-50% of a paycheck goes to taxes. Anyone who works for a living would have to be a complete moron to vote democrat.
What are they now? About 60 years old?
If anyone shows, it'll be looters from Hillarys Village there to steal the jewelery. The rest will show up to show off their new tattoo.
BUT...there is a silver lining. The rabid left will expose itself for normal Americans to see, AND they'll be trashing their own liberal strong hold - nyc.
In 2012, even NYC will have a massive Republican increase. Would YOU want to be associated with the party of out of control aging communists and looting crimminals?
If you don't know what you're talking about, you shouldn't be responding on a thread like this. It's potentially dangerous misinforming people this way. Who do you think is behind the WTO protests/riots, or the acts of anarchy that occur at the commie-led "peace" rallies, or race riots such as in 1991 in LA?(Rodney King riots)

VAN JONES (Obama's former 'Green Jobs Czar'):
"Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to President Obama, speaks [lovingly] about Green Job Czar, Van Jones, at the Netroots Convention on August 12, 2009. Then Van Jones speaks about [a COMMUNIST] transforming [of] the whole society."
"Jones was the leader and founder of a radical group, the communist revolutionary organization Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement, or STORM. That group, together with Jones' Elle Baker Center for Human Rights, led a vigil Sept. 12, 2001, at Snow Park in Oakland, Calif.
STORM's official manifesto, titled, "Reclaiming Revolution," surfaced on the Internet."--via TheObamaFile
VAN JONES SHOCK ADMISSION [in his own words]: "Goal is Complete Revolution"
Here is the transcript of the above YouTube video:
Right after Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat if the civil rights leaders had jumped out and said OK now we want reparations for Slavery, we want redistribution of all the wealth, and we want to legalize mixed marriages. If wed come out with a maximum program the very next day, theyd been laughed at. Instead they came out with a very minimum. We just want to integrate these busses
But, inside that minimum demand was a very radical kernel that eventually meant that from 1964 to 1968 complete revolution was on the table for this country.
And, I think that this green movement has to pursue those same steps and stages.
Right now we say we want to move from suicidal gray capitalism to something eco-capitalism where at least were not fast-tracking the destruction of the whole planet. Will that be enough? No, it wont be enough. We want to go beyond the systems of exploitation and oppression all together. But, thats a process and I think thats whats great about the movement that is beginning to emerge is that the CRISIS is so severe in terms of joblessness, violence and now ecological threats that people are willing to be both pragmatic and visionary.
So the green economy will start off as a small subset and we are going to push it and push it and push it until it becomes the engine for transforming the whole society.
SOURCE for this transcript (it matches the video):
Here's the original source for the Van Jones quote about the time he spent in jail following the Rodney King/LA riots (Jones was arrested in "peaceful" protests in San Fran). It was in a 2005 interview he did with East Bay Express. They of course (what else?) claim he "renounced his rowdy Black Nationalist ways" since then (yet he's calling for "complete revolution" in Aug 2009! ...see above):
But in jail, he said, "I met all these young radical people of color -- I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, 'This is what I need to be a part of.'" Although he already had a plane ticket, he decided to stay in San Francisco. "I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary." In the months that followed, he let go of any lingering thoughts that he might fit in with the status quo. "I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th," he said. "By August, I was a communist."
The 1992 LA/Rodney King riots were instigated by the Revolutionary Communist Party...
From David Horowitz's FrontpageMag.com /DiscoverTheNetworks.org:
"Throughout its history, one of RCP's [Revolutionary Communist Party] principal objectives has been to foment civil unrest in the United States. The most notable example of such efforts occurred on April 29, 1992, when RCP members looted and trashed the downtown and government districts of Los Angeles, triggering the infamous Rodney King riots. During the days immediately preceding the violence, RCP -- which maintained close ties to the L.A. gangs known as the Crips and the Bloods -- had circulated throughout South Central Los Angeles a leaflet featuring a statement by RCP National Spokesman Carl Dix, titled 'It's Right To Rebel' -- a quote popularized by Mao Zedong.
Encouraged by Dix, RCP activists helped lead the riots that would leave 58 people dead, more than 2,300 people injured, some 5,300 buildings burned, and $1 billion in property damaged or destroyed. On the ten-year anniversary of the rioting, RCP member Joseph Veale fondly recalled the violence as 'the most beautiful, the most heroic civil action in the history of the United States.'"
Do it. If these loons’ concept of data security is on a par with their understanding of econonmics, history and human nature, the npwning them will be a piece of cake.
Aging communists. Today's teens may smash windows and steal stuff, but most would have no idea what they're protesting. Most of them can't even read!
I think you're giving these losers too much credit. What we have now is nothing but a bunch of violent thieves who's agenda it is to simply take other peoples "stuff."
The hard core commies want the government to do all the stealing for them, and it has been doing that, but they've run out of goods to steal. The commies can push, but hey, the tax payers gotta eat and care for their own families first. They're just going to have to live with that. There is no other choice. They'll have to find their own work eventually, no matter what they do. Socialism has failed again.
I can’t understand why “ragers” would riot in liberal enclaves like Manhattan and Wash DC.
Shouldn’t they attack places like Texas?
or how about Maricopa County Arizona?
