With just days to go before the special election to replace disgraced Congressman Anthony Weiner in the heavily Democratic ninth congressional district, Republican Bob Turner has surged to a 6 point lead over Democrat David Weprin in the latest independent poll. The new poll conducted by the Siena Research Institute shows retired businessman Turner with a 90-6 percent lead among Republicans and an astounding 65-27 percent lead among Independents. State Assemblyman David Weprin has managed only a 63-32 percent lead among his fellow Democrats.

Methinks that this is a setup so that when the Republican (shocker!!!) loses in a cake walk dem district the MSM, the Zero Admin and all his cronies can run to the nearest microphone and/or get in front of the nearest camera (if they can knock Schumer out of the way that is) and proclaim that this election clearly shows that America loves Zero’s jobs plan and economic policies!!!

New York, a Republican, no way. Those people are programmed drones. As a matter of fact, I hear that to save money on the filming of the upcoming season of “The Walking Dead” they just filmed a crowd in that district during one of OZero’s speeches.

There was an article yesterday about the Dems pouring money late into the race this week.

(sorry, can't find it)

Win or lose this is very good news for the GOP. Sure picking up a seat in the House would be fantastic. Of even mor importance is that because the Dems are going to have to fight in these "Safe" districts they will not be able to cause as much trouble in swing districts.

Here in Illinois my congressional district normally goes GOP (Peter Roskam's district), even though I'm in Cook Crook County. But in the 2008 election the Dems didn't have to work getting out the vote in their safe districts so we saw a lot of GOTV activity from people who's style of speech, dress and vehicle stickers indicated that they were not from the local area. It allowed them to take the state house seat that had been reliably GOP for over a decade.

They won't be able to do similar things if all of their campaign zombies are forced to stay in their home districts to get out the depressed Democrat loyalists.

Come on man, Turner is going to win. Don’t hit me with those negative waves so early in the morning.

Worried Democrats Buy TV Ads to Help Weprin

And the DCCC is still trying to raise more outside funds for Weprin.

Nah...this is NYC....Queens/Brooklyn. What will happen is that the school buses will show up full of nursing home patients, members of "community homes" and the homeless. These will be accompanied into the booths (not sure if NYC still uses booths, but you get my drift) by someone to "assist" them in casting their ballots.

Ha....love the Kellys Heroes reference. I liked when they had that on “An Officer and a Movie” and Lou Diamond Phillips was trying to discuss it afterwards as if it was a legitimate/historically accurate war movie. The historian he interviewed just laughed.

He probably is a NY RINO, but the real news here is the defection of Independent voters.

If they vote GOP in Nov 012 by these kind of crushing margins, Zero is toast. He could lose every swing state.

We’ll see, but if Turner wins this it is awful news for Dems.

Poor Debbie Downer she’ll have to curl her hair tighter.

RedState.com called him "one of us" and "the quintessential Tea Party candidate".

In debates and speeches he advocates smaller government, lower taxes and substantial entitlement reforms to protect Meciare and Social Security from insolvency. He's a strong proponent of significant spending cuts. He talks the talk but since he's never been elected to public office there's no proof he'd walk the walk. Hopefully we'll get the chance to see if he will.

I’m sorry. I must have been thinking of Chicago.

Its not negative waves Moriarty its just that I have the MSM and OZero’s speed right now. The tide of reality is against them so they are reduced to creating fictions. A democrat getting elected in that district is akin to the old Soviet elections, the outcome is fixed and the election is designed to serve another purpose, namely showing how much the Dear Leader’s policies are beloved by all.

Isn’t redistricting going make this district disappear? Can anyone expect the NY legislature drawing a GOP district in Southern NY in addition to Staten Island /piece of BKLYN & Peter King’s district? Can this be more than a nice victory and the first step to wins in NV 2, VA races, WVA etc( maybe a gain in NJ?)
