Just when you thought crony handouts of taxpayer millions couldnt get much worse than the White House managed Solyndra debacle, along comes the story of global warming shyster Al Gore and fledgling, plug-in hybrid car maker Fisker Automotive, Inc.
In 2009, Gore happened to be at an event hosted by the California venture capital firm of Kleiner, Perkins, Caulfield and Byers.
Of course, Al happened to be there because he is a PARTNER in the firm.
Well low and behold, Fisker CEO Henrik Fisker just happened to be there too and pitched Gore on the virtues of his 50 mile-per-battery-charged, $89,500 Karma luxury sedan. And Al, we are told, immediately handed Fisker a deposit for a new Karma motor car green, probably.
For as we all know, Gore believes that a global shift of the automobile fleet toward electric vehicles, accompanying a shift toward renewable-energy generation, represents an important part of a sensible strategy for solving the climate crisis.
Or so Als spokeswoman says. Later on shell explain how his well publicized fleet of Chevy Suburbans and Tahoes lends itself to that sensible strategy.
Well the Wall Street Journal tells us that Gores venture capital firm of Kleiner, Perkins was already a big investor in Fisker Automotive.
Equally surprising and unexpected is the fact that employees of the firm had donated some $2.2 million to political campaigns, including President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
So when Fisker Automotive applied to the Department of Energy for a loan, in April of 2010 it walked away with $529 million taxpayer dollars, scored from a $25 billion fund Congress had established to help automakers meet legislative mandates for fuel economy.

Hey Al, do you drive one of those bombs?
Naked corruption sponsored by exploiting the Sex Poodle’s connections.
Will the taxpayers loan be repaid? Who are the grafters here?
Screw Algore. It is Obamsky the Chitown hustler’s DOE that gave another half billion in pay-for-play campaign donations.
Algore just wanted his cut.
Billions for the Dacha Princes.Nothing but taxes for the Kulaks.
These people are crooks and getting away with lining their pockets with our great grandchildren’s money. I want them all strung up from a tall, tall tree. They need to pay restitution and their families need to go underground in shame.
Did Barney Frank write this headline?
This is outrageous! If tax payer money is going to be stolen for fictitious green jobs, at least the money should stay in our own country!

obtain some goal or result.
4. to manipulate something for dishonest ends.
Why doesn’t someone investigate these deals which are nothing but a scam?
Global warming has no validity yet Al the snake oil salesman keeps coming up with these scams that common sense says it’s all a fraud.
Gore should be in prison.
I admit to being a bear of very little brain, so this just hit me. Rush has been saying it for the past few years, but here it is:
This Stimulus was (and still is) a slush fund for the friends of the Unions and the radical Left. A vast pot o' gold to fund their idea of a Brave New World.
Bam! goes the 2 x 4 along side my head...
Thanks, it looked like a typo; I didn’t know it was an actual word.
But you’ve got to admit, it looks like something Barney Frank would say!

Internet Queen Mary Meeker Leaves Morgan Stanley for Kleiner Perkins
New York Observer, The (NY) - Monday, November 29, 2010
Author: Mike Taylor
Mary Meeker, the heralded “Net Queen” whose analysis on the tech world has lately returned to favor among high-profile investors, is departing Morgan Stanley to take up residence at Kleiner Perkins Caulfield and Byers , The New York Times reports.
Ms. Meeker’s departure ends a 20-year tenure at Morgan Stanley, a stint that earned her, among other things, the title of godmother to all three of Chief Financial Officer Ruth Porat’s children. It’s fitting that children who were essentially born to the sounds of Wall Street dealmaking would also be baptized in finance.

Al Gore bashes corn ethanol, but boosts investments in cellulose ethanol?
Sports & Recreation Examiner (USA) - Tuesday, November 23, 2010
Author: John Matras
Al Gore, as it has widely been noted, has confessed that he was wrong. Using corn to make ethanol for fuel use was a bad idea, he now says, “not good policy.”As many critics have noted, there isn’t much energy out for the energy that goes in. The energy conversion ratios are at best very small,” the former vice-president and Academy Award winner told the news agency Reuters.
Gore says that he originally supported ethanol from corn because of his connections to farmers in Tennessee, and admitting having been corrupted by politics, said “...I had a certain fondness for the farmers in the state of Iowa because I was about to run for president ”
Iowa farmers vote, and Gore hoped they would vote their pocketbooks.
That was morally wrong, Gore suggests, not because of the political thing but because it’s bad for poor people: “ The size, the percentage of corn particularly, which is now being (used for) first generation ethanol definitely has an impact on food prices The competition with food prices is real.
Gore wants to end corn-to-ethanol subsidies, but he has not soured on ethanol-as-fuel. Instead, he now promotes cellulosic technologies which use chemicals or enzymes to extract sugar from fiber in wood, waste or grass.
It’s not just from the goodness of his heart, however, as Steve Milloy points out today in his blog, Green Hell:
“If we turn to the investment portfolio of the venture capital firm of Kleiner Perkins Caulfield and Byers (KPCB) where Al Gore is a partner, we find that KPCB has invested in Mascoma Corporation, whose business is cellulosic ethanol. “
Milloy notes further, “In 2008, Mascoma received $61 million in financing from a group that included KPCB. In 2006, KPCB was part of a $30 million financing package for Mascoma.”

Al Gore and Barney Frank fit the description perfectly.
My #1 reason for doubt about Rick Perry as the GOP nominee is due to his eager, albeit unsuccessful TX campaign support for Al Gore. Yes, it was a long time ago, but Al Gore has been a wanker for his entire adult life.
I betcha his is driving one of those S—tboxes! Thanks, Al, for once again ripping us off under the pretenses of fraud.
p.s. Don't forget these vast sums of money are also being used to shore up Democrat campaign coffers.
” Al Gore has been a wanker for his entire adult life.”
He must be one of Peggy’s cousins!
Half a billion dollars seems to be the going rate for a meal ticket at the Enviroscam feeding trough.
