I have no problems with tax cuts for basing your business in high unemployment places. It’s probably the best thing Government can do in terms of reducing unemployment.
Making a living, having a job, earning a wage - that is probably the best way to make someone conservative. The problem we face is a permanent 20% who have no (or no stable) job and rely upon Government handouts. Get them jobs, get them off the Government teat, and start building up those people.
And do it only with tax cuts - no benefits, no payments, no loans, no cash out. Business funds the cost of the entire operations, and if they make a profit - they’ll pay less taxes (and less taxes is always good).
Having a place like Detroit, or Memphis, or Yuma, or Stockton with people earning their own way seems to be a good thing. A way to grow conservatives via encouraging conservative behavior.
Total waste of time. The inner city is dead.
I don’t believe throwing good money after bad is a conservative idea.
You have to forgive me for being old, but that's just asking for a "you ain't seen nothing' yet" response.
Gee, that’s twice you have called me a liar. Where is my lie about Cain? I have only been asking for verification?
Sleazy Posts?
Asking for information?
I thought that’s what we were supposed to do. Seems like things may be taking a rather dogmatic turn here.
What you are doing is called a “Whisper campaign” You are making up lies to accuse the other campaing of. Then when you lie is prove a lie, you merely move on to a new lie.
It is the worst sort of gutless political tactics.
As pointed out to you the 9th Commandment is not a suggestion Bearing False Witness is still a sin.
See, that’s where you don’t understand the economics of the plan...
It’s NOT throwing good money after bad - it’s ONLY giving a tax cut IF a private business invests in the area AND makes a profit. In other words, it only rewards success, but does not subsidize any losing proposition. And it’s not a hand-out.
If a business thinks they can succeed in a high-unemployment area, and they invest AND they actually do succeed - then the Government would recognize that success by letting the business keep more of its money.
If the business fails? Nothing paid out from the Government. No money thrown at the failure.
What lies have I made up?
I came looking for information, but all I have found is adulation. I have a link to a speech he made to Life Issues and I have a statement he made on The View.
I am no closer to being able to vote for Cain than when I came, but I am not going to spend the rest of a beautiful Sunday being called a liar. Farewell and be at peace.
Maybe it’s the tone of your posts? Rather sanctimonious and snotty, as if YOU have all the answers already... “prove this” and “prove that”...just google him and read up on him and quit asking your pissy little questions.
That is all well and good, but that it not what you wrote earlier. You wrote that nobody seems to know who he is or why they like him, and that is a fairly common comment around here in the past few days. It is starting to appear that some folks want to marginalize Cain by painting his support as blind and/or shallow.
"Believe it or not, I am not sold on Perry, but I am not willing to vote for Cain on faith."
There is absolutely no reason for me to believe you or not about being sold on Perry ... I didn't mention Perry or respond to anything that you wrote about Perry. I haven't the first clue what you think about Perry.
Herman Cain is a good man and I am supporting him fully at this point in the race. However, I'm not going to be one of the freepers that abuses everybody that doesn't support him.
Lord knows that the Guiliani and Palin followers on this forum did their candidates more harm than good with their attacks. After first being really high on Palin, I cooled-off significantly after enduring attack after attack for simply trying to explore and question her record. That wasn't Palin's fault, but she either benefited or suffered from the actions of rabid fans.
Hope that whomever you choose to back in the primaries is a solid conservative. That is what would benefit the country right now and in the long run.
I’m willing to give you the benefit of the doubt on lying over this, because you may just be misremembering, but I recorded the View appearance, and I’ve watched it twice. He did NOT say that he would put his social positions aside to govern. He said he would not govern based on his opinions, but rather on the Constitution. So unless you’re saying that his social positions are Constitutionally indefensible (in which case, why do you call yourself a conservative?), then you’ve completely misconstrued what he stated.
Cain, Bachmann, then, if we have to, Perry. There is no other choice. Bachmann is right on all the issues, but has faltered lately. Perry is right enough to support, but wrong on some key issues, like illegals. Romney would be a train wreck, McCain II. He is a complete phony, and it would be the 6th straight Establishment RINO Republican to get the nod. We cannot allow that, or the party will be demoralized and Obama may win.
Not intentionally I assure you. I was merely repeating what was offered in post #5. I personally do not watch that show.
