Two prominent members of the Communist Party USA are leading the growing Occupy Los Angeles movement.
Occupy Los Angeles in action
Further, the Communist Party is deliberately infiltrating the Occupy movement in other parts of the country, to ensure that revolutionary forces gain as much control as possible.
The two Southern California communists at the heart of Occupy Los Angeles movement are veteran party leader Arturo Cambron and his comrade, Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Council member Mario Brito.
Arturo Cambron is a long time Party member and is the husband of Rossana Cambron, the Partys Southern California coordinator. He is the president of the Party run Los Angeles Workers Center, situated in South Saint Andrews Place, which essentially serves as the Communist Party HQ for the area.
Cambron is active in the Occupy Los Angeles protests and has acted as a moderator for the organizations nightly core group meetings.
Mario Brito is Labor Relations Rep. and Community Outreach organizer for the Laborers Union and a long time Communist Party supporter. In January 2003, Brito attended a meeting of the National Board of the Communist Party USA in South Chicago. He has also been a supporter of the Party front Latinos for Peace and active in the immigrant rights movement.
Mario Brito, is Occupy Los Angeles city liaison, tasked with dealing with the police and City officials. In a city lead by long time Communist Party affiliate, mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, this is probably not too difficult a job. Brito has also moderated at least one Occupy Los Angeles core croup meeting.
Earlier in October, Mario Brito summed up the occupation causes raison detre as economic justice, and told fellow Communist Party supporter Ed Rampell of Back Page Magazine: This is an international movement its not only happening in Wall Street, its happening in 170 cities in the U.S., and cities in Europe and Latin America. Brito asserted: The vast majority of Americans actually believe income inequality is a major problem. They only reason they havent acted upon it is because there hasnt been a mass movement.
Demonstrators in Los Angeles camped out in front of City Hall and said they would remain camped at the site indefinitely. We have no time limit, this camp will remain until we achieve what we want: the populations right to employment, education and health services; immigrants right to employment and no companies influence on politics, Mario Brito declared.
The group also decided to work with the Los Angeles Police Department to obtain permits and cooperation, hoping to avoid altercations with police. If we have an adversarial relationship with the cops, its not going to work, said Brito, moderator of a September 25 meeting.
On September 26, Occupy Los Angeles made an appearance in West Hollywood for President Barack Obamas fundraising visit. The plan was not to embarrass the Partys long time friend, the President, but to reach out to other activist groups, to build the movement.
After a sometimes frustrating organizing process that is filled with many diverse points of view, Bitro said protesters are unified. We agree on one thing, that the economic inequalities in this country have to stop, he said. We have to fight back on this issue. We have to hold corporate America responsible, and the politicians that support them.
On Tuesday, October 11, 2011 8 pm, the Communist Party USA held a national teleconference to discuss the Occupy Movement, which the Party noted had already spread to more than 200 other cities. Arturo Cambron, of the Communist Party and the Occupy L.A. Movement, was the key speaker on the call. Wrote Illinois Party leader John Bachtell on the CPUSA website:
Southern California Party leader Arturo Cambron will share how the CPUSA and Young Communist League (YCL) are working in Occupy Los Angeles. This movement, also known as the 99% movement, is being hailed across the country. Movements and organizations are reaching out in solidarity. The AFL-CIO is opening union halls and offering other material assistance. Ordinary people are donating food, money and materials.
A big challenge for the CPUSA and left, progressive movements is to link these demonstrations with the labor led all-peoples coalition and help deepen understanding that the path to progress must be through electoral and political action including defeating Republican Tea Party reaction in 2012. Of primary importance is linking it with the burgeoning fight for jobs and especially passage of the American Jobs Act.
We can also play a role in offering more advanced programmatic ideas like nationalizing the banks and socialism. To have a positive impact, the CPUSA and YCL must be a part of the Occupy movement, participating at every level and building greater local support for the actions among labor and progressive forces.
Doing its bit, the Southern California chapter of the Young Communist League has already produced a video in support of the Occupy movement.
Unlike the anarchists and lunatic leftists, who run the Occupy movement in most cities, the Communist Party USA is disciplined and highly focused on returning Barack Obama and the Democrats to complete power in 2012.
They will never allow the Occupy movement to become a threat to that goal. They will make sure that the movement becomes a vehicle for their demands and a weapon against whats left of US capitalism and any force which legitimately threatens the re-election of their comrade President. .
hat tip combat-boots.
All and I mean all of these videos and photo’s should be getting stocked up for AD’s next year
Then showed to the public saying the Dem party of JFK has changed and is this the change you voted for last time.
Communists and socialists now taking over the Dem party and then show a list of Dem officials and photo’s videos of them supporting this.
We can get the message out to all the older Dems in FL, and the north east who seem to think that the party they have always voted for has been the JFK party
Well children, its gonna take more than intimidating a few city council members to “take over” America.
You’ll have to deal with us bitter clingers in flyover country at some point.
How long before the government outlaws ammo sales and confiscates personal wealth. All for the good of the people, don’t you know.
As soon as they can’t find food (invade MacD’s?) or shelter (invade Motel 6?) or get clean clothes (invade Goodwill?) or get washed up (local fountain?) - they’ll start yelling for all those things to be provided to them for free.
The communists are already running this “movement”. The communists are the ones responsible for getting it off the ground.
Fly over country, funny how they’re in one of the most union, most liberal cities in this country with a population of millions and only have a few hundred protesting and I bet many of them have been shipped in from nearby states and having been up there then the north east has very small states.
The media are really pathetic.
So some Mexican Communists plan a protest in California...how will anyone notice the difference?
The first objective is to change the new conversation away from Solyndra and the other "Greengate" scandals.
The second more important objective is to (hopefully) ignite violence across the land as we head into the next election cycle.
Collapse of society and economy is what the anarchists are hoping for. These people have been talking of this day since the 60's and the bufoons in the media (Fox included) are acting like it has all been spontaneous!
That movement needs to be flushed.
I’d think that a movement in Los Angeles would be “Occupado”.
Only one “c”, thanks.
1. Most of Kalifornia is lost to the latinos and libtards
2. People who can, people who have companies they can move, are moving them out of Kalifornia.
3. Let the latinos and libtards have it. They deserve each other. See how that goes for you guys but first cut off all federal aid from the rest of us.
I think I am seeing a trend in the sub 45 somethings that the libtards and the entitlement crowd aren’t going to like at all. Also something the old or soon to be old aren’t going to like either. It is this, these sub 45 somethings have no rules of order and they care about themselves first and foremost. They are hedonistic for the most part. Here is the news, they don’t care about you or anyone else and they aren’t sharing what they earn.
Remember the big heat wave in France of a few years ago. The one where lots of old folks died and had to be kept in lockers because their children were away on holiday and would not come back. This is the attitude I’m talking about and I think it is coming to a tax payer funded social program near you soon.
Take a look at the comments made by the 20 somethings on the “53 percent” web site. They may not be a huge number yet but I’ll bet they outnumber the entitlement class.
This could be good. Popcorn at the ready.
Lots of these so called protesters are being paid... I’ll get the link for you.
To be clear.
I don’t think that wanting to keep what you earn is wrong. I think many of this group of sub 45s are wise to what is done with what is taken from them by the government in the name of “helping” others. They are working too hard to see what little they earn squandered by others who seek political gain for themselves or to be really good people by spending the hard earned coin of others because they “care” more than you do.
The ones who work, build their own businesses, pay their bills responsibly and behave with honor... best of success.
The media protects them, but history will expose them.
As in 99% nuts?
I don't know, maybe I just don't understand, but even still I am not afraid of these people, this is all Astroturf and will be forgotten very soon.
Well, they will get good weather in La Crosse, where they are going to occupy a park and then march to a municipal parking lot that serves the County Court and a majority of criminal law offices. Most of the parking spaces are assigned via permit, with only a few metered spaces available.
They are in a tizzy because there is a LGBT equality meeting the same time, same park, which is across from a Wells Fargo bank. Negotiations are ongoing.
However, it is a Saturday, so the parking lot will be mostly empty. I somehow doubt they will camp out in the lot also used by courts. The park, though, is another story.
Lock and Load.
War on the illegal alien welfare workers of the world.
If these commie scum get violent they should be shot.
A Fool’s Crusade of lemming lefties.
NBC news tonight showed a video with a protestor holding a huge, red Che flag. It was perfect for showing my wife who was pushing this protest.

Thanks Fred Nerks; good article, good comments.
Several graphics throughout the thread; don't miss # 17.
I live in the same time zone and it is still 10-10-2011 7:26 PM here in Washington State. So how can they be a day ahead?
The DOJ probably doesn’t even investigate communists anymore..
Can’t answer that, I posted the article as printed. Trevor Loudon writes from New Zealand.
I guess that explains it. He needs to learn the time difference from New Zealand and the Pacific Northwest.
I guess that explains it. He needs to learn the time difference from New Zealand and the Pacific Northwest.
Aside from what might be a mistkae about the time, did you find the article of interest?
Thanks for posting this! I should read his blog more often. I just posted this on another site. Needs to get out there!
Now THAT is a gillie suit.....
“The DOJ probably doesnt even investigate communists anymore..”
Did you forget the sarcasm tag?
Ha! Why would they? To find one all they’d have to do is look in the office at the end of the hall, or walk down the street to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

A headless snake. Anarchists have no direction, no leadership and inevitably they are ALWAYS taken over by a group that does. And these protests came about at the direction of SEIU, moveo, org, and all their Soros funded affiliates. I am on their mailing lists, and I got the call to protest from all of them at the same time, two weeks before it actually happened. It is no coincidence that protest demonstrations are always populated by young, disaffected, shiftless, unemployed alternative lifestyle dope smoking zombies. They are ignorant, narcissistic and gullible, perfect useful idiots to be manipulated for any purpose.
I’ll never forget that horrible night.
This is where Breitbart and others come in. He and other “bloggers” serve as collecting points for input by citizen journalists who capture the craziness on video. Lord knows the MSM is trying to make the occupiers out to be Mother Therese At Valley Forge. If we don’t film it, it will never be seen.
42 is brilliant on several levels.
Thanks for the ping.
They might succeed with violence in France - the French have that tradition. We don't. Hopefully, Americans will come the the conclusion that on any given week, MORE people show up for High School Football... These people are NOT occupying cities - it's at best a few hundred people - many paid professionals...not as many as show up for kid's sports.
Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner Fred. Yes, I found it very interesting. It is very scary what is going on in our country. I pray that the sane people will be able to take it back in 2012.
If I were an anarchist I’d be getting awfully tee’d off that Communists were trying to steal my movement! (Yes, I do know they’re ALL communists/socialists and not REALLY anarchists to begin with...).
