I just came home from work to a phone call from my folks who informed me of the passing of my aunt Anne, otherwise known as Colonel Anne C. Jablunovsky, US Army (Ret). As an Army Nurse, she had served in both Korea and Vietnam, retiring after 26 years of active duty. Here's a photo of her from the Pacific Stars & Stripes with General Matt Ridgeway
Over Memorial Day in 2007, our hometown newspaper did a front page article on our family's military service, In this family, service to country runs deep, which captured some of her reflections and musings...she's wearing the red blazer in the feature photo. She served as a tremendous inspiration to me in her love of both God and Country. She was in so many ways everything that is good about this country, starting out quite literally as a coal miner's daughter and having traveled the world, and experienced horrific things, only to come home and live her life in the peace she had helped purchase for the rest of us.
Condolences. A real American. Be proud of her service to this country.
May she RIP.
My condolences. May she Rest In Peace.
Your family has done the Lord’s work for many years. May Aunt Anne rest in peace - and thanks to you and your family for your service to our country.
May this wonderful woman Rest In Peace!
I’m not worthy...RIP
I am so sorry to hear your aunt passed away. I am sure you find comfort in knowing she made a difference.
Salute with tears.
As a Retired Navy Nurse,,,,
Thank you, good and faithful servant.....rest in peace.
You didn’t mind this retired Army Major standing beside you saluting with tears coming down his face?
Rest in peace, pretty lady.
I’m sorry for your loss Joe ^-Pack. I thank your Aunt Anne for my freedom. God Bless her and may HE comfort you and your family.
Salutes to the ANC. They served proudly and well.
It is my pleasure to have you to my left, Sir (we are standing according to rank, correct? ;-) LOL
Mind you that is to my left, as I look at you in the ranks , as I am giving the commands ;-)
IN all sincerity...my condolances to the loss of this fine woman, and GOD bless her for all she so selflessly gave throughout her career..
