Like showing disrespect and contempt for Americans in uniform.
A femal member of the Coast Guard was harrassed and spit upon as she walked by the Occupy Boston demonstration.

The Coast Guard in Boston confirmed that a woman in uniform was harassed and spat upon near Occupy Boston protesters.
The woman was walking to the train and said protesters spit on her twice, called her foul names and even threw a water bottle at her.
Now, the Coast Guard is warning all staff working on Atlantic Avenue to avoid those protesters while in uniform.
Devon Pendleton, a spokesman for Occupy Boston, doesn't believe that those male protestors are actually part of the movement....

A lot changed from the early 1950’s until the 1960’s, the people still respected the military in the early 50’s then the liberals started their revolution during the Viet Nam war. I was in the Navy from 1968-1972 and thank goodness no one ever showed any disrespect towards me.
Or burly guys from the Tea Party and Rolling Thunder.
When I worked as a waitress in a bowling alley-restaurant-bar you'd see young punks come in all the time and mouth off to some old guy that has been sitting in the bar for 30 years and they just thought he was old....leaving the bar the kids usually got the sheet kicked out of them...(this was when Michigan had changed the drinking age to 18) big mistake that was changed a few years later..
Viet Nam vets were treated shamfully, but my brother was in the army during Korea, there weren’t any problems then, it was in the early 50’s. People respected our military and the hippy lefty’s were not invented yet...
I think a lot of the Rolling Thunder guys are Nam vets...don’t screw with them...:O) OOPS Dune just started on BBC guess I’ll have to sign off and watch...

yes, you’re right they did. What I probably should have said was there weren’t the parades and big welcomes that a lot of the WWII folks got.
Sadly, Korea was the first “armed conflict” (instead of the term “war”) that we got into in the last century, and that unfortunate naming trend for military engagements will probably continue because of the fear factor associated with the word “war.”
We live in a politically correct world where calling something what it really is seems to be very unpopular...
