Posted on 10/15/2011 9:28:30 AM PDT by John Semmens
Contending that Congress failure to enact President Obamas Jobs Bill amounts to disloyalty to the duly authorized ruler of this nation, Representative Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-Ill) called for extraordinary measures to restore orderly compliance with the steps the President deems necessary for the country.
No one can argue that these are not critical times for America, Jackson said. The time for disputation has passed. It is now time for action. Since Congress will not obey, the President must take the actions he thinks appropriate by using his executive powers unilaterally.
Jackson sought to draw parallels with the secession crisis of 1861. Just as Lincoln refused to tolerate the disobedience of the southern states, so too, must President Obama stand firm against the enemies of progressive reform. Lincolns efforts to deal with secession included raising an army without Congressional approval, arresting opponents of his policies, and suppressing newspapers that editorialized against his Administration.
The specific action that Jackson urged Obama to take on the jobs issue was for the President to order that the 15 million who are unemployed be immediately hired by the federal government. The Congressman estimated that at a salary of $40,000/year, this would cost only $600 billion/year.
The action needed is so simple and affordable that opposition can only stem from seditious motives, Jackson insisted. Jackson dismissed objections that there would be no meaningful work for this new army of federal employees. Theres certainly lots of things they could be doing to improve this country. They could pick up the litter that uglifies our streets and highways. They could provide domestic services like cooking and cleaning our homes. They could work in the fields planting, tending, and harvesting our crops. But even if they did nothing wed still be injecting $600 billion of stimulus into the economy.
Jackson wasnt alone in casting Congressional refusal to pass the Presidents jobs bill in stark terms. Representative Linda Sanchez (D-CA) called the GOPs opposition unpatriotic. Theyre not concerned with our countrys economic well-being, Sanchez maintained. Their only goal is to defeat President Obama. They are enemies of America. The President should act accordingly.
An outright idiot looking to supplant the Constitution and advocate for dictatorship. Would not expect nothing more from the son of a racist. =.=
This is getting scary.
Man, that is Hank Johnson-stupid.
Jackson is absolutely nuts. Rank and file radical liberal nutcase. Get him back on his meds.
LOL! Somebody needs to send Junior or Loretta a pocket copy of the U.S. Constitution. Better yet, how ‘bout an audio CD version since it’s obvious that neither of these bozos can read.
I can't believe he is stupid enough to think that Congress has to "obey" a President. He must of slept through Civics class.
Program note to Jesse Jackson Jr:
This is a republic, not a monarchy.
Traitorous criminal. He should be summarily hung.
Satire, everyone! LOL
WPA on steroids? Always good for a laugh to see who takes this seriously.
The subtitle is “semi-satire.” Is it?
John, looks like you have a few more victims of your wicked satire. LOL.
Thanks again for the ping.
>>> This is getting scary.
What is scary is the probability that John’s SATIRE is actually reality in the liberal’s mind, even though it doesn’t reflect reality in their actual words/actions.
That’s why people here keep getting pwned by these articles.
There you go again, John, reporting the news rather than sensationalizing it. (snicker)
From News Busters Nov.10, 2008:
Valerie Jarrett, appeared on Meet the Press this weekend and used, shall we say, an interesting word to described what she thinks Barack Obama will be doing in January when he's officially sworn into office. She told Tom Brokaw that Obama will be ready to "rule" on day one.(empahasis added)
The president doesn't 'rule', the people rule. The president serves. It's obvious this sob and his cult think otherwise.
Maybe, but they ‘intend’ to make it that way.
“The time for disputation has passed.”
Sounds like: The science is settled; the debate is over.
Create a crisis; kill the Constitution. This is the face of the democrat party. That, and the guy taking a dump on a police car in NYC.
I hope you are getting rich off of your work because you deserve it. You are brilliant.
When is it a good time to round these treasonist bastards up and jail thier a##es
disloyalty to the duly authorized ruler of this nation,
If satire, it is satire based on and identical with reality. It is treason, indeed.
We fought a war once against tyrants who would oppress us. We labelled them our “enemies.” We won that war, and now We the People “rule” ourselves, electing and employing “public servants” to help us in ways enumerated in our Constitution.
Many of us have taken an oath to defend against “enemies foreign and domestic.” ‘Nough said.
Damn! Got me again. d:^/
The Democrats are in panic with the realization that they will be OUT OF POWER completely in a year.
(IMHO)..and this from the (presumed) son of Jesse....
"I have a dishonest Scam / Scheme" Jackson, Sr. (Racist-DNC)
my..my.."the rotten fruit, don't fall far from the tree."
*Za Za Gabor's Voice*
Darling...Darling...of course, WE HOPE its (only) Satire....
*/Za Za Gabor's Voice*
but, its frightfully close to becoming the real thing.
While the story is fake the support by the left-wingers for it is real.
Its almost time.
I hope this is just another satire, but democrats are so stupid. Jesse Jr is a nit wit along with the other leftys...I noticed your name when I clicked on 1 almost got caught...:O)
I know this is satire, but it is based in part on Jackson’s LUDICROUS suggestion that we hire the unemployed at $40K per year.
Rep. Jackson, SIR, if we were to do what you suggested, how long do you think it would take for the two-thirds of workers with earnings below that level to dump their jobs so they can get in on the gravy train? http://politicalcalculations.blogspot.com/2010/12/whats-your-us-income-ranking.html
Since Congress is so eager to impose unwanted mandates such as Obamacare on the American people, perhaps the American people (read: Congress’s employer) should impose an Econ 101 mandate on all members of Congress. It might spare us from some of these lunatic suggestions.
Remove this SOB and try him for treason
Remove this SOB and try him for treason
I read it three times and can’t find the satire.
Wow! I am speechless. First a governor, now Jackson and Sanchez?
Good one John. Thanks for the ping. Appreciate it.
John....You got me...AGAIN!!! :-)
Very, very good! :-)
Someone needs to study the constitution before spouting off!
Dammit John! you got me again!
I’m still waiting for my pony....
Sorry. Your pony was eaten by the “Occupy Wall Street” crowd.
