Anyone with the slightest bit of good sense is well aware of what an awful candidate Rick Perry is. Stop trying to scare people into not posting about it.

You could avoid splitting the conservative vote by supporting Cain.

I'm sorry, but no fiscal conservative should even consider a new source of federal funding for expanded federal entitlements. Cain has said the 9% federal sales tax will include empowerment zones, and empowerment zones provide federally-run subsidies and benefits for families living in low income minority neighborhoods.

Furthermore, Rich Lowrie, Cain's economic adviser and his 999 architect, under fire from Democrats saying a 999 tax program would raise taxes on the poor, said they were going to "fix" that by either exempting low income families from that national sales tax or not requiring them to pay that tax at all.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/right-turn/post/path-to-the-nomination-when-does-cain-face-the-heat/2011/03/29/gIQA2uvQbL_blog.html

This means that the middle and upper class bread winners will be paying a national sales tax to provide welfare services, Section 8 entitlements, HUD programs, etc. to low income minority families without any or little share of revenue input from those same families receiving the federally-chosen and federally-directed benefits.

No fiscal conservative should EVER support a plan like that.

Yeah this is really is a “DUH” moment.

I don’t like it the more I think about it.

Let’s face it, while Romney might be MSM and the Republican establishment’s favorite, they would MUCH rather have Perry the nominee than Cain, Bachmann or Santorum.

I believe you said that in good faith, but I have to respectfully disagree with you. Cain, Bachmann, and Santorum would not have the background to dismantle the federal government and restore a Constitutional-style smaller federal government like Rick Perry could do.

I think any Washington D.C. establishment that depends on Washington D.C. for their power, prestige, and pocket money would be more fearful of a Perry Presidency than a presidency of any of those others.

When Perry entered, who had won the first straw poll?

Bwahaha!!!

When Bill Kristol admits that Perry is in as an Establishment-approved alternative (though second, not first choice), you know Perry’s on their team too.

FWIW, I expect the Romney handlers nudged Cain into the race, just as they did Bachmann, in order to split the conservative vote too.

It’s not by accident that we always end up with a Bush, Dole or McCain type.

“FWIW, I expect the Romney handlers nudged Cain into the race, just as they did Bachmann, in order to split the conservative vote too.’

And I wouldn’t put it past Obama either to have helped financed the conservative fringe candidates for that reason — through intermediaries.

Recently I saw this article in the WSJ, that in CA, Gray Davis won, because he took out in the primary the R candidate who could have beaten him.

Here is the article:

A California Strategy for Obama’s Re-Election

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204831304576597183058778202.html

“So how did Mr. Davis win in 2002? By using his fund-raising prowess to break all campaign-finance records in California political history, and by playing in the Republican field to knock out his strongest opponent.

Mr. Davis raised money from the day he was elected in 1998, despite criticisms from politicos and the press. In 2002, his political team then isolated his biggest threat - the moderate Richard Riordan, the former mayor of Los Angeles - and spent millions on ads to defeat him in the Republican primary.

This effort elevated businessman and former assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Simon, a far more conservative candidate whose positions were unpopular with Californians. Mr. Davis retained a significant financial advantage going into the general election”

Of course they did. Cain already said he would support Romney but “never” Perry..... and yet he “claims” he is a conservative????

But Perry’s every bit as much in on the game as the others. The party is rotten through and through.

While Perry has some good qualities, he has shown himself to be a nanny-state governor, which is what LMSM and the GOP establishment, like.

“When Perry entered, who had won the first straw poll?”

Yes, that bothered me, that he would choose to announce the same day of the straw poll. He took away some of Bachmann’s thunder, after she worked so hard.

A nanny state? Texas??? Now that borders ridiculous. No... that IS ridiculous. It would be hard to find a governor more committed to local government principles and non-government intervention, and that is so engrained and evident in Perry that it would definitely influence his presidency to a great extent.

Perhaps you might want to read Rick Perry’s book, “FED UP!”. In his book, Rick Perry details the vision of government as intended by the founding fathers and how to restore a Constitutionally-correct federal and state / local government for The United States of America. Good reading for those who appreciate less government intervention and who do not want federal government overreach reducing or destroying people’s lives and liberties.

Or maybe perhaps you just accidentally left the sarcasm key off that post. :)

While Perry is not on my short list, he’s not at the bottom of my list, either, but that Gardisil mandate attempt does show some strong nannny-state traits, and it bothers me BIG TIME.

Poor RINO Rick Perry. Everyone is against him. Right?

WHERE WAS HE WHEN THE MSM went after EX-GOV. "I Lied" Palin?

Go buy a clue from a heartless American.

There, fixed it for ya.

Buying a clue? Is that like buying a vowel?

See post #28, because I had said that was the reason Perry was encouraged to get into the race by "Establishment Republicans", to reduce Bachmann's standing in the race.
But I notice Conservativegreatgrandma didn't answer the question.
These stinking Perry supporters are either dishonest, or just plain "useful idiots", pawns of the "Establishment".
Perry will NEVER get my vote, and neither will Romney.

You are mistaken TWICE.

Gov. Perry is a RINO on borders and PerryCARE.

He is also weak, and failed to defend Gov. Palin
when SHE was under similar attack.

Now Gov. Perry is defended by his wife. How weak is that!

/snicker

Ex. Gov “I Quit” Palin was just as “RINO” on borders and illegals as you claim Perry is - that or she’s a bald-faced liar - since she told Univision in an interview in 2008 when she was the candidate for VP that she supported a pathway to citizenship for illegals. If that wasn’t a RINO statement - by your standards - than nothing can be.
