Skip to comments.IS HERMAN CAIN THE ANTI-ROMNEY CANDIDATE?!

Herman Cain, the former CEO of Godfather's Pizza, is on the rise in the 2012 Republican presidential field. We shouldn't pay attention to the polls just yet, but most of them show Cain ahead of or close to Mitt Romney. Is Herman Cain the anti-Romney candidate that we have been looking for? He might be. Herman Cain has been able to raise $2 million in 2 weeks! That is incredible! If he continues putting up these numbers, he is going to be tough to beat!
One of the reasons Herman Cain is on the rise is because of Texas Governor Rick Perry's blunders. Perry's terrible debate performances and recent attacks by the liberal media have damaged his candidacy. Perry's poll numbers have dropped to the low teens to under 10%! Herman Cain has taken advantage of Perry's downfall by articulating his 9-9-9 tax reform plan. The 9-9-9 plan takes away all of the federal taxes and replaces them with a 9% corporate tax, 9% income tax, and 9% sales tax. We will dissect his plan in the near future. Herman Cain also has never run for office. He has a strong record of business experience that our country desperately needs.
This past Sunday, Herman Cain was on Meet the Press with liberal David Gregory. It's nice to see that a liberal didn't try to paint Cain as someone who hated African Americans and skipped the draft for the Vietnam War. I still cannot get over how repulsive the interview socialist Lawrence O'Donnell gave to Herman Cain. Back on subject, Herman Cain is finally the one who has the guts to say that the liberals are destroying the country on purpose. Cain states, "The objective of the liberals is to destroy this country. It is their mission. Because they do not believe in a stronger America, in my opinion. Yes."
The Tea Party needs to make a decision soon about who is the anti-Romney candidate. Is it Herman Cain, Rick Perry, or someone else? Herman Cain seems to be the guy. If he remains one of the top tier candidates in the polls by late November, he has a great chance of winning the nomination. However, Herman Cain cannot win without full Tea Party support. When the Tea Party states that they cannot endorse, this is false. They were instrumental in the victories of Senators Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Pat Toomey, Ron Johnson, and Mike Lee. Now, the Tea Party needs to step it up and endorse the right anti-Romney candidate to represent the Republican ticket in 2012. America cannot afford someone who represents Wall St. and big corporations. It is a long campaign and anything can happen, so who will be the anti-Romney candidate? Time is running out!
If true, this is great news and shows he is capable of staying competitive in the money race.
Herman Cain is the anti-Obama candidate!!!!
This POStulating is pure propoganda.
Romney might be the nicest guy in the world - I really don’t know. But I know how he makes me feel. He feels like a used car salesman. There is some kind of beneath the surface sleaziness that just feels wrong. It is pure instinct but I do not want him to be the candidate.
I was going for Cain until his comment on the electric fence. He lost my vote. He can no longer claim to be pro life, can he?
Nice Try Perrybot.
What was Rick Perry doing in 1993?
In 1993, Perry, while serving as Texas agriculture commissioner, expressed support for the Clinton health care reform proposal, describing it as “most commendable.” The health care plan was ultimately unsuccessful due to Republican congressional opposition. In 2005, after being questioned on the issue by a potential opponent in the Republican governor primary, Perry said that he expressed his support only in order to get Clinton to pay more attention to rural health care.
Surprised that you could pull your head out of Perry’s arse long enough to make that claim.
He’s the conservative anti-obama that Romney will never be.
My God, are you serious?? Do you advocate the water bubblers in the desert too, so the invaders don’t die of thirst?
There are electric fences on most agricultural properties. They keep the livestock in or out and are not generally fatal to humans.
Do you think I would ever vote for Perry for President? Not in a million years.
I have never said one thing that was supportive of a Perry presidency, nor will I. Perish the thought. Cain was my choice until he made that comment. My Texas vote is not the only Texas vote he lost with it.
There are electrified fences around nuclear facilities, Area 51, etc.
There are terrorists crossing our border; yes, he is pro-life; he is for protecting the lives of American citizens.
You made me laugh. Electric fences kill people? Funny my dad used them all the time to keep cattle and horses in, as kids we got stung a bunch when we forgot the fence was hot. Just think- they sell these people killers at every farm/ranch supply.
I also think it is far more fair and accurate to describe Herman Cain as the Conservative alternative, rather than the Anti-Romney.
There is no shortage of RINOs (Rick Perry is the poster boy) jockeying to be the Anti-Romney.
There is no shortage of Marxists (BO is the poster boy) who are even more Anti-Romney than the alternative RINO flavors.
Hey sodpoodle. Nice to see you. It has been a long time. Hope you are well. And yes. I am a country girl. I know all about electric fences. The voltage is not fatal. He specifically said these would be fatal. Again, good to see you.
That is in no way ever the definition of pro life and you and I both know it.
I know all about electric fences re: livestock. Cain specifically said these would have voltage that would kill people.
Sure, that’s believable.
These are the times that try men’s souls - country girls too.
We had a low voltage fence for a couple of ponies. One of the kids was standing in a puddle, slipped and grabbed the wire. Had a helluva time trying to pry her loose - before we could reach the switch. No, seriously, I was a great parent!
I disagree that the media had much to do w/Perry's freefall. Conservatives don't listen to the media. Perry's undoing was Perry's alone. In other times, we might have been more patient, but this guy didn't even try to get his act together. Debate after debate, he never improved his performance. Used the same old tired lines when he knew the same old tired questions were coming his way. I'm still disgusted that he didn't have his plan ready for the last debate. I wouldn't put up with my 6th grader pulling that. Get your report done without excuses. I certainly don't want a president like that. (btw, I'm not an anti-Perry bot or anything. I was a supporter, but he lost me time & time again. He never even tried).
I have no problem with electric fences around nuclear facilities.
Defense of the country is pro-life; as is self defense...we will have to agree to disagree.
Ronald Reagan stated he had just signed legislation to outlaw the Soviet Union and said the bombing would start in 5 minutes...would you not vote for him, were he here today?
Cain is right...people need to lighten up.
Ouch!!!!! My grandfather used low voltage fences too. Our parents had us scared to death of them. For just that reason. And I have no doubt you are a wonderful parent. I knew that.
You are comparing Reagan to Cain? Never the twain shall meet. And yes I would vote for him if he was here today. I did then.
We can agree to disagee and in doing so I can and do still respect your opinion. And terrorists trying to gain access to our nuclear facilities? I say...Light ‘em up!
I voted for Reagan both times. If Cain somehow falters, I expect I will be voting for Reagan again this time.
Absolutely. I am with you. I had high hopes for Cain.
Where we disagree is that I still have high hopes and confidence in Cain.
Herman Cain is where he is in the race precisely because he is an honest NON-politician; an American with a record of success in all he undertakes. Read “This is Herman Cain” and people will understand why he wins most of the straw polls. His integrity shines through like a laser beam!
It isn’t about him, it’s about his country! Herman Cain is the one the Left most fears because he doesn’t rely on rhetoric or platitudes. He isn’t afraid to say it the way it is! Herman Cain is not looking to gain personal power for himself. Herman Cain has good solutions in his toolbox to repair the damage done in the past 23 years. Why? To make America a strong and prosperous nation again.
Herman Cain is an able leader.
Good point. But the liberal media tried to make him unelectable so they put on the smear campaign with the racist hunting range story and he hasn’t been able to recover from it since. In conversations with other conservatives, it makes them uneasy when stories like this come out.
I hope against hope you are right! We need someone. It is going to be painful tonight to watch Perry. I am already cringing. Why dont I drink? Someone remind me please.
I’m a grandparent now - and I have never felt so terrified in my life.
When my kids were small, I probably should have been more concerned about Carter - but then along came R. Reagan who made it possible for parents to attend to our lives, work hard & relax.
Did you ever think we would have communists in the WH? I don’t know anyone who ever believed it was possible without a Russian invasion.
I understand ..I am the grandmother of an 8 year old boy. I empathize with your fears. It isnt like when we were raising our children, is it?
Off subject: My sister and I both are helping raise grandsons whose fathers have abandoned them. That was unheard of when I was being raised.
You know, just because YOU post this, doesn't make it true.
If you like Cain, go vote for him. In the meantime, you would do better service to him by advancing his positive qualities.
Rick Perry is conservative. You just have decided the jump on the train.
Maybe if you can figure out what Cain's positions really are, you can actually sell him. But like Romney, they seem to change with whoever he is speaking to.
I’ll bet you remember what your Mom told you. Mine used to say “you have it so much easier than we did”.
By that she meant she really did walk to school, had chores on the farm, washed clothes by hand and no TV or radio.
We are telling our children how sorry we are that we failed to see the barbarians at the gate - BECAUSE THEY WERE INSIDE THE DAMN GATES!!!!!!
LOL. Oh that would go over really big with those living on the border. Esp the ranchers. Not gonna happen.
Absolutely. The old...I have seen the enemy..and the enemy is us. How did we get here from there?
You will have to give me a link for that one...and the context...
It should not be difficult to find. It was the second time he said it and someone asked him to clarify his comment. He specified the voltage would be fatal.
He also said they would be posted with signs warning of their lethality.
I have NO problem with an electrified fence. But then, I’m from New York. I’d settle for a minefield.
Perry’s positions during elections are not the problem. Perry’s actions while not currently running are why I do not consider him a conservative and why I cannot support him.
