Yesterday afternoon a reader name LibertyGeek asked a great question about media bias:
I ask what are we going to do about it? Theres no doubt that the MSM is in the tank for the Dems. That knowledge and a six pack will get me a buzz.
Youre connected and have a platform. Put the question out to all the folks who read your posts, How do we combat this extreme bias?
The alternate media does a great job but there are a TON of really intelligent people who are too busy earning a living to research things. How do we reach these people, most of whom are Your fathers Democrats?
The answer to this question is simple: Dont stand for it.

Say it on every stump speech, TV appearance, interview, mailer etc.
We ALL say it with unanimity EVERY TIME we open our mouths in public. On TV, on radio, in speeches, EVERY interview.
I started reading Reed Irvine's Accuracy In Media (AIM) Report back in the 1970s - but its examples of "media bias" quickly became a twice-told tale.If you see enough sunrises, eventually it dawns on you that the sun always rises in the east. And if you once realize what you are seeing, you understand that journalism as we have known it all our lives is hostile to American "conservatism."
The question wasn't whether journalism was hostile to conservatism, the only question was why. The second step, after realizing that journalism isn't objective, is to get over the idea that we should ever have expected objectivity in the first place.
A printing press produces propaganda power - which means that any printer will be tempted to use it in a self-interested way. Anyone who logically considers the implications of having a unified "associated" press which claims to be objective would have to predict that there was no reason to expect anything other than that unified journalism would be a selling, rather than truth telling, operation. It is the wire services which homogenized journalism. Wire services date back to about 1850, and the homogeneity of journalism dates back almost as far.
As far back as WWII, SCOTUS found the AP to be in violation of the Sherman Antitrust Act. Back then the AP was "too big to fail." It is still influential, of course = but the AP is a dead organization walking because its fundamental reason for being was to economize on bandwidth in the transmission of news. By now, bandwidth is so cheap that its mission is obsolete.
Thanks for this thread.
Thank you John Nolte for keeping your eyes open about your profession.
The main problem with the media is that nobody in the media is someone who people that I know could possibly have a rational dialog with.
The media has isolated itself from the America that I know. They “own the microphone” so we can listen or not, but we do not believe what we hear or see from them.
The media projects THEIR agenda into every news “story” that they can.
In summary, the media “journals” instead of “reports.”
