Wow the first sentence with the underline for emphasis is completely wrong so I stopped reading right there.

How is a 9% flat tax complicated?

Mr. JOHN W K, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Ho hum. So, I wonder who you support?

How is a flat tax an attack?

Seems to me we have the “entitlement class” paying nothing at one end (the occupy crowd), and the GE and Berkshire Hathaway crony capitalism at the other.

Cain is the ONLY person who would make BOTH groups PAY their fair share.

That said his 999-909 plan and his “opportunity zones” are bad ideas. Really bad.

I think as President he would sign a flat tax if it came to his desk.

Let us make a more simple argument

http://tyrannysentinel.blogspot.com/2011/10/good-man-bad-plan.html

................

I like Herman Cain
I think Cain is the best candidate in the race for the nomination.

I do see that he is inexperienced with politics and he can talk too much when asked a simple question. The “journalists” will let him ramble, he’ll say something sooner or later that can be twisted and taken out of context. That is what leftist journalists do to conservatives.

His 999/909 plan is stupid though and his “opportunity zones” is un-American as far as I am concerned, I will explain that.

First, let me restate, I like Herman Cain. I think I was the first one to use the slogan “Cain Vs Unable”, for instance.

Let me explain why I don’t like the tax plan he put forward.

Somebody call 999!

This plan requires the creation of a brand new tax, a national sales tax. This will give the federal government yet another revenue stream to tap into. As a conservative that alone bugs me to no end. Plus he says the plan is “revenue neutral”, which is not a positive if you ask me, the government takes far too much money out of the economy as it is.

A simple flat tax would be preferable. Would President Cain sign a true flat tax should it pass Congress? I think so.

Opportunity Zone comes knocking

Why should the federal government give special regulatory breaks to “zones”? If it good enough to help depressed areas, then it is good to help the whole freaking country! If he proposed eliminating harmful regulations permanently for the entire country we could see the economy boom. Why propose a plan that would simply encourage your job to be moved to places like Detroit? Pretty much because that is where the African-Americans are, this is known as “pandering”. If you want to pander for votes, pander to the whole country!

Who will decide where “zones” will be? A new bureaucracy.

Who decides the criteria? Who will process the applications from cities and states wanting to be declared or keep their status as “zones”? Will they have to fall on their knees before the federal emperor? A new bureaucracy.

Why is Herman Cain, a conservative, proposing a new federal bureaucracy that will literally enforce discriminatory regulatory policies??

If his idea is good enough for Detroit, then it is good enough for every single square inch of this country!

I still like Herman Cain, though.

What part of 9% corporate tax(instead of 35% with a bunch of hidden taxes), 9% personal income tax(instead of our complex system of death tax, medicare, medicaid and personal income tax) and 9% national sales tax (since corporations dont have to spend 400 billion a year filling out tax forms prices will drop)and COMPLETELY THROWING OUT THE PRESENT TAX CODE do you not understand???

We already have a national sales tax on phone bills, tires, cig’s, alcohol...and more. So what do you mean a brand new federal tax? There should be sales taxes and import taxes and NEVER a tax on income just as the founders had it.

The fact is, Herman is now proposing a new tax, a national retail sales tax, in addition to taxing corporate profits and incomes, and also would tax the wages working people earn.

You are correct in that Herman Cain's plan would add a new tax, and his plan definately has some serious problems that I would like to see corrected. That being said, his plan, or the flat tax proposed by Perry and Gingrich, would remove the Social Security and Medicare taxes which Congress likes to pretend are separate from the general revenues. It would also remove capital gains taxes and 10,000,000 words from the current tax code. The people who should fear his plan most are tax attorneys, accountants, lobbyists and tax preparers. All those people would need job training when their industries disappeared. And that's not a bad thing.

Those who reject abiding by the intentions and beliefs under which our Constitution was agree to, as those intentions and beliefs may be documented from historical records, wish to remove the anchor and rudder of our constitutional system so they may then be free to “interpret” the Constitution to mean whatever they wish it to mean.

to give another taxing power to Congress with which to ``lie, deceive, manipulate and destroy this country``?

Congress has always had the power to tax sales. Sales taxes and tariffs were the original plan. They could easily be made uniform. Property and Capitation taxes would be more difficult to enact because they had to be apportioned. Any item imported into a state could only be taxed by the federal government until the Constitution was torn up after the Civil War.

You need to get your facts straight.

I was about ready to flame you until I read the article. Herman is not clear about the difference between a flat or a retail sales tax at the national level and the fair tax. The article is a legitimate point to the confusion around the sales tax options.

So, why do so many "conservatives" support this Washington Establishment Hobson's Choice candidate whose mission is to give another taxing power to Congress... And why is it that our "conservative" talk show hosts give this former federal reserve bank chairman, a Washington Establishment insider, a pass on his "opportunity zones" which attack our free market system? ...a wolf in sheep's clothing whose mission is admittedly designed to further erode the defined and limited powers of our federal government...

You have no understanding of his plan. First step(though done at the same time) throw out the present tax code, replace with 9-9-9. Economy will then boom and even if it starts at the same level it is now the plan is revenue neutral. If Economy goes booming then it will bring in more! Allowing us after a few years, like 2 years, to go to the fair tax! Also do you think the present monstrosity or any of the plans that simply mess around the edges agree with our founding fathers?!?

Are you honestly comparing Cain’s plan to the beast we have today? Do you prefer the current code? What alternative(s) do you propose?

I support the 32 word plan which would return us to our Constitution's ORIGINAL TAX PLAN as our founders intended it to operate:

The Sixteenth Amendment is hereby repealed and Congress is henceforth forbidden to lay ``any`` tax or burden calculated from profits, gains, interest, salaries, wages, tips, inheritances or any other lawfully realized money

So, which of our Republican presidential hopefuls will take up the cause and defend our founding father’s original tax plan, and work to put an end to the class warfare game which is proposed to continue under Herman's plan?

JWK

“…a national revenue must be obtained; but the system must be such a one, that, while it secures the object of revenue it shall not be oppressive to our constituents.”___ Madison, during the creation of our Nation`s First Revenue Raising Act
