I had no idea! Silly me...when I grew up I thought there were distinctions between boys and girls; but this isn't that. It's about "inclusiveness" for fear of being stigmatized with the dirty-word labels, sexist/bigoted/racist/xenophobic/homophobic:
The Girl Scouts of Colorado has flip-flopped on a decision not to let a 7-year-old boy join their organization, now saying he is welcome even though hes not a girl.Bobby Montoya plays with Barbie dolls and My Little Ponies. Hes a boy, but dresses and identifies as a girl. And just like his older sister, he decided he wanted to join the Girl Scouts.
But that wasnt quite so easy, when a local troop leader told the family three weeks ago Bobby couldnt join because he has boy parts.
I said, Well, whats the big deal? Felisha Archuleta, Bobbys mom, told Denver NBC affiliate KUSA-TV this week.
~~~ Bobby, who has been playing with girl toys since he was 2 years old, was left in tears when he was first told he couldnt join the organization.
Well boo-frickin'-hoo! I don't care that he likes to play with Barbie dolls; I don't care what his sexual orientation may be after he hits puberty. But the fact remains that he is not a girl. No matter how much you may wish you were something different, you are what you are. The kid has "boy parts." That's just the reality. I'm under 6 feet tall. If there were a club for tall people, should I be allowed in simply because I wish to be tall and because I perceive myself to be tall (at least on the inside- where it counts, right)?
I'm puttin' on a skirt and taking a job with TSA.
I'm gonna pat down all the hotties, and let the grandma's go through.
Now that I have seen the picture I know why the Girl Scouts changed their minds.
They had a double fight on their hands if they hadn’t.
Mommy has two Heathers.
But you have to be gay to be in Actup, etc
Let’s just call ‘em the Whatever Scouts.
Dad must be so proud.
I could “maybe” see it being okay if the “girl” had a genetic condition like an extra X sex chromosome or had a condition like CAIS or PAIS (androgen insensitivity) or was born with both sets of parts and was incorrectly “re-assigned” by a doctor after birth.
But that would be a 1 in a million thing and it would be handled discretely (no one would ever know or need to know) . This smacks of being a created controversy made to further a radical agenda at the expense of the child involved for the edification of the radical parent.
Even if the whackjob parents were 100% sure this was the right thing for their child, and they had the child’s best interests in mind they would certainly make sure that there would be no media involved and would work with the people involved not to make a big deal out of it despite the decision that the GSA gave.
“...transgender children...”
No such thing.
Why isn’t there a GLBT Scout organization?
There is no "dad" in that family, obviously. No surprise that this boy is raised as a girl, there is no man in the house.
I read an interview with the family the other day. The boy said something like, “Not letting me join the girl scouts made me feel like someone told me I had to change my name and they were going to take away my (girl) toys”.
I thought, this kid’s been coached. The parents are working out their agenda on their child.
I think someone should start an organization called the REALLY GIRLS Girl Scouts. I know they started a “Scouting for All” for gay Boy Scouts but they found no one joined, so they have to go back to their original goal of wrecking the scouting organizations that already exist.
“There is no “dad” in that family, obviously.”
That would explain a lot. There is a good chance there is a male somewhere that knows he is the Dad and that he now has a really screwed up son urged on by an even more screwed up woman.
Wonder if male tranny’s get preferences in hiring because they’re classed as women.
I think Bobby’s mommy has issues. At age 7 I would not be giving up on the chance that Bobby might have a moment of clarity and decide to be a boy some day.
No such thing.
Correct. What we have here is an emotionally abusive parent, who has been raising a male child as a girl since the age of two years old, while contending the 2 year old was able to make some sort of "gender identity" choice.
Dangerous ground they don't get: if a 2 year old can consent to beginning a transgender routine, they should also be able to consent to sex and marriage.
Exacly my thoughts that there are no “transgendered children”.
Whatever goes on with people with the “gay” issues, and the “trans-whatever” issues, I wish we could all agree that this is something for people to deal with when they are adults. How the heck can there by “trans-whatever” children, when they haven’t gone through puberty yet, and experienced any sexual feelings or any of that? How can they be “trans” something, when they haven’t had the life experience to know anything about these issues???
Clearly there are liberal parents out there who are pushing their boy to be a girl. This reeks to say that somehow this boy can choose to be a girl at such a tender age.
When I was a young man in the USAF many years ago, a fellow airman had an aunt who was a high mucky-muck in the S.F - Bay Area Girls Scouts council. He would regularly get a group of us together and we would go to various Girl Scout camps and do maintenance work for a weekend. This was done before the girls arrived or after the camps were closed for the season. They would feed us, allow us to camp, but we had to provide our own beer, in return for work done on the camp.
We did this on a regular basis for over 2 years, camping in some of the finest areas of the Pacific redwood forest, or the Sierra Nevada mtns.
At the end of one session the Scout Leaders who were with us handed all of us our own individual Girl Scout membership cards valid for one year. And that’s the story of how a group of airmen from McClellan AFB became Girl Scouts for a year. This occurred in the mid 70’s.
