It’s not a case of “strongly believe in.” Whether or not they AGREE with the need for these government programs, they have been forced to pay into them their entire lives. Forgive them if they get edgy when constantly threatened that they’ll get no return on what has been confiscated from every paycheck they’ve ever received.

"Are these the same people who strongly believe in Socialist Insecurity, Mediscare, and all the rest?"

Allow me to think like a Ron Paul drone....

Yes, absolutely. If you are against a 'suicidal isolationists/Blame America 1st/Islamic useful idiot' then isn't it obvious that you are also a socialist who believes in SSI, medicare and all the rest.

It goes without saying

/ mega-uber-gynormous sarcasm

"So who did this?"

Tip O'Neal, Bob Michaels, George Mitchell, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, the Two Bushes, Tom Dachle, Nancy Pelosi, Robert Byrd, Bob Dole, Trent Lott, Bill Frist, Mitch McConnel, John Boehner, Barney Frank...

...but Paul drones blame their fellow Americans first

I'm sorry, I don't understand. You do know, don't you, that sarcasm never works, here.

Were you being sarcastic when you said the seasoned citizens were "well informed"?

I guess I simply recoil every time I hear of "the greatest generation". (ptooie!)

The so-called "greatest generation" has managed to remain uninformed about quite a lot.

All of whom seized power in a military coup and ruled against the peoples wishes ... oh wait.

Look, this conflict has been going on for years. The country has been slipping towards socialism for nearly a century. Conservatives of all ages have been fighting against this for years, and statistically, older people are more conservative than younger people.

BUT!!! The mess we are in did not happen overnight and MANY older people voted for this socialist crap their whole lives and my children and grandchildren will pay for their politics. I just don't give the older generation carte blanche.

IMHO, the key question is if/when Paul drops out, and whom he endorses..

I am sure it will be the one who is closest to his political agenda. The one who like him blames America for every problem in the world. The who like him endorses OWS. The one who like him wants special rights for gays. The one who hates our military. The one who like him wants legalized drugs. Obama, of course.

Last time it was Ralph Nader, Cynthia McKinney, and Chucks Baldwin.

But I do not think McKinney nor Baldwin are running this time, and I do not think Nader hates America enough to suit the surrender monkey.

The threat Paul poses is if he pulls a Perot (no insult to Ross intended). Even shaving 1% from our side in a close election could give it to nobama.

Appeasement Paul may shave 1% from our side, but every other paulbot vote will come from Obama. Paulbots are not programmed to vote for anybody who does not hate America. Obama hates America almost as much as Appeasement Paul, so that is where the paulbots will go, if their leader decides not to run independent.
