Why would they use the adjective "rueful" to describe his smile in response to Obama expressing lighthearted congratulations on the birth of the French President's child?
I mean the media used "rueful" to describe Madoff in: "Happiness is a warm cell for rueful Bernie Madoff".
It means remorseful..unless he is remorseful over having to put up with another visit from our Traveling Pants of a President telling everyone how to run their countries.
