Romney buddy, Dick Marriott, maintains connections with NRA
various | November 5, 2011 | Syriacus

This is a collection of links to bolster my contention that Dick Marriott, former treasurer and former head of the National Restaurant Association, maintains connections with the NRA.

I apologize for the the sporadic way in which I will be posting links. I am baby-sitting for my adorable grandson and will be cooking for guests today.

Dick Marriott is a close friend of Mitt Rommey, who is named after Dick's father, J. Willard Marriott.

This racist attack on Mr. Cain appears to have
been spawned in the Office's of Obama and Romney
or Soros himself (who supports both, like Rove).

Fact 1 - The woman was required to pay all legal fees
of both parties in the settlement. .

Fact 2 - She is reported to be a SPOKESMAN of
an Obama agency at this time. .

Fact 3 - The "MSM" has less curiosity than a dead
rat's skeleton, which it truly is.

Joel Bennett enjoys a good scheme with John Podesta

THE REAL DEAL:

“Former President of National Restaurant Association has Ties to the Mitt Romney Campaign
Steven C. Anderson … took over the helm as Chief Executive Officer at the National Restaurant Association
Herman Cain's departure in 1999”

Whenever Team Romney had rumors they wanted to start about other candidates,
Jonathan Martin has been their go-to guy to get those rumors in writing in front of a national audience.

“And The Most Irresponsible Journalist Award Goes to The Politico’s Jonathan Martin!
So tell me, how do you write a “news” story about an organization paying for a speaker when you don’t even know if the organization is paying for the speaker?
Ask “journalist” Jonathan Martin. He knows all about it.
You see, Jonny wrote a piss poor story the other day about how the Iowa Family Policy Center will be paying a large speaker fee if Sarah Palin comes to Iowa to keynote the IFPC’s fall funderaiser.
The only problem is that Jonny has no sources confirming that any exorbitant fee is being charged or paid.
Jonny also got some inside info from David Kochel, who was a top aide to former (and future) presidential candidate, Mitt Romney.
Hey Dave, didn’t I just read a story about how Mitt Romney tried to buy off the Iowa Christian Alliance?
I heard you helped facilitate that little scheme. And somehow you are shocked at the thought of a well-known political figure (who very likely isn’t running for president) getting paid a speaker’s fee for (gasp) a public speaking appearance? ..
and then we’ve got Tim Albrecht quoted. He was the Iowa spokesman for Romney’s 2008 caucus campaign.”
And it always seemed like, whenever the Romney people had rumors they wanted to start about other candidates,
Jonny was their go-to guy to get those rumors in writing in front of a national audience.

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

Who benefits most from Sanford meltdown? Californian (that's right) Mitt Romney

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

Oct 20-22, 2011 Dick Marriott hosted a tournament to benefit an NRA restaurant advocacy fund

Think there were any NRA people there? Might they have discussed the presidential chances of Dick Marriott's friend, Mitt Romney, against Herman Cain?

Were there any whisperings about a hush-hush scandal involving former NRA CEO Herman Cain?

Who gave the heads up to Perry’s AZ coordinator (Bolick), who tweeted about it a few day before the story broke?

Why would anyone connected in a major way with that industry not have such a connection?

That is like saying you know some guy on your block is steeling copper power lines because you can see the wire that runs from the pole to his house.

I wouldn't vote for Romney for any reason but this is stupid.

Is it? Did you hear Romney EVER speaking up defending
either Mr. Cain or Gov. Palin.

Right. Like the dog that did not bark, cf. Sherlock Holmes,
Team Romney has been at ground zero in every attack.

Quite Rovian.

We have an opportunity that needs to be taken advantage of. That is to overrule the MSM’s choice of who will be the nominee. No to Romney !

I didn’t say Romney wasn’t or couldn’t be involved. That stuff hasn’t all come out yet.

I said that if he is, don’t make hay of the fact that a Hotel king he knows is connected to the National Resaurant Association. That membership should be expected as a given.

There comes a point where blowing up trivial details undermines your credibility and makes others question your rationality.

Throw all the ad hominem you want, FRiend,
but I did not purport what you claimed.

There are a series of facts that are coming out.

Connect the dots ... if you dare.

Blame the messenger ... if you must.

In this one it's actually TEAM CLINTON at the real center.

This is a two stage plot. The Clintonistas have to get Obama out of the White House first, but they also need to keep Cain off the Republican ticket for the election.

If they have gotten rid of Obama and Hillary is facing a black candidate, the Democrat party will be split right down the middle and they will lose ALL OF THEIR ELECTIONS!

We will end up with a Republican Super Majority in the Congress, and in every state legislature up for election in a Presidential year.

We can rewrite the Constitution.

The Leftwingtards will be left to do nothing but commit violence in the streets while running naked and pooping on cars.

We can rewrite the Constitution.

If that is your fervent desire then you have no place here on FR. Seriously.

We do not need to rewrite the Constitution. We need to re-read it.

Excellent point.

I'm very glad you brought it up.

You are much smarter and much less naive than the folks at Boston Globe, who tried to say Marriott's connection with NRA is long gone.

Perry tries to pass blame for Cain revelations to Romney campaign

But there is no evidence that Marriott would have been in a position to know about the allegations. Marriott was chairman of the National Restaurant Association board of directors for a single year-long term, beginning in May 1992.
Cain took over as vice president at the same time.
But according to the Politico story and to Cain, the sexual harassment claims were brought when he was chairman of the association, from 1996 to 1999 – after Marriott left.
Not everyone is as realistic as you are.

And you would be wrong. Let's take the 16th amendment ~ the income tax ~ obviously needs to be rewritten, as does the 14th ~ mostly because the civil war has been over for a very long time and the slaves lived out their lives and are gone.

The Supreme Court needs to be tied down to the degree it responds to the will of the people ~ currently you have to impeach and convict a judge to get rid of him ~ we need term limitations and recurring reviews followed by elections (at legislative or Congressional levels although in modern times we could probably do it by referendum). Maybe a Right To Life amendment and a Defense of Marriage amendment ~ and a Balanced Budget Amendment.

Most of DC needs to be stuffed back into the state of Maryland! Again, that requires a constitutional change.

There are others who could go on and on regarding what needs to be done ~ lot of 10th amendment expansion for example ~

It IS Conservative to FIX known problems. It is Leftwingtardish to LEAVE known problems in place no matter what abuses ensue.

Because the Constitution has in it the procedures for revision, it is Conservative to follow those procedures and use them when we can to resolve longstanding issues.

If you do not agree you have NO PLACE on FR.

BTW, just "rereading the Constitution" is what Nancy Pelosi and her fascist running dog lackeys do. They just "reread" it to mean what they want it to mean.

We've had enough of that. Time to put an end to tyranny.

I apologize. When I speak of the Constitution and hear talk of rewriting it, I think immediately of the Bill of Rights.

You are correct. There are a number of amendments that need eliminating. The 16th being the foremost.

My comment was in regard to the first ten. Which I consider the original Constitution and the embodiment of the framers' intent for this nation.

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – March 30, 2006

Marriott participated in golf tournament for benefit of NRA fund.

The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) held its 14th annual Leadership Classic golf tournament at the Inn at Spanish Bay in mid-March. [snip]

Luminaries in attendance included legendary hotelier Dick Marriott and former Pittsburg Steeler Franco Harris, famous for his “immaculate reception,” now a restaurateur. A special guest at the auction was former White House Chief of Staff Leon Panetta and his wife Sylvia.

We have a large number of Freepers who’d like to redo the 5th Amendment, and there is a flaw in the 1st that has allowed judges with evil intent to suppress religious speech ~ it needs fixed!
