Hundreds of Occupy D.C. Protesters Block Conservatives From Leaving Summit
The Blaze ^ | 11/5/2011 | Madeleine Morgenstern

Posted on 11/05/2011 6:00:12 PM PDT by wolf24

Hundreds of Occupy D.C. protesters descended on the city’s convention center Friday night, blocking the streets around where a conservative group was gathered for an annual summit.

Demonstrators staged a “sit in” around the convention center for several hours and barred individuals inside from leaving the area, the Washington Post reported.

Three protesters were struck by a car, authorities told the Post. They were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“The protesters were apparently trying to block the roadway,” D.C. police Lt. Christopher Micciche told the Associated Press. “It was essentially an accident where three individuals were injured but they were in violation by being in the roadway.”

Micciche said the car’s driver was not cited because he had a green light when his vehicle struck the protesters, who “either ran toward or jumped in front of the moving vehicle.” He said one pedestrian jumped on the hood of the car. One of them was cited for being in the roadway.

Protesters surrounded the driver’s car and shouted “Shame!” before he left, D.C.’s local Fox affiliate reported.

Occupy D.C. posted on its Twitter account that several protesters were arrested, though police told media outlets there had been no arrests.

Videos posted to YouTube and Twitter show large crowds massed in front of the convention center, chanting and shouting where the Americans for Prosperity “Defending the American Dream” summit was taking place. Americans for Prosperity is funded in part by Charles and David Koch, the brothers who run Koch Industries — apparently part of the reason protesters targeted the event.

Several protesters told the Post their main goal was to prevent conservatives from leaving the site.

According to one video posted on YouTube, a woman in a wheelchair was blocked from exiting the convention center by a group of protesters crowding outside one of the doors. They pressed signs reading “Government for the people” and “I am a human being” against the glass and chanted “This is what democracy looks like!”

Another video posted by the Media Research Council showed a group of protesters fighting with convention center security guards and placing two children in the center of the scuffle. There is a lot of yelling and the children can be heard crying.

Stephen Gutowski gave this eyewitness account of the brawl on The College Politico:

"At the start of the scuffle the protesters had been able to get inside the convention center and set up a makeshift barrier. This barrier consisted of what appeared to be several large wood trash cans from the center, a large metal recycling bin from the center, the two small children sitting in their wagon, and several occupiers either sitting on the floor or standing up.

The security guards, which may have been assisted by police officers (I’m not sure), then began moving the trash cans and forcing back the protesters. At first only about 5 or 6 protesters resisted the security guards while the rest filmed everything but as they forcibly pushed the protesters and the children’s wagon out of the doorway other protesters became incensed. At that point several other occupiers began screaming and pushing back against the security guards.

The children were extremely upset and crying by this point."

If you want to join a circle jerk of idiots that is fine, help yourself, but when you start interfering with people who are innocent of your BS, and blocking them you are looking for trouble and will find it.

As far as I am concerned these Occupy jag offs have crossed the line ,If the police and civil authorities will not protect innocent people we must protect ourselves in any way we can.

They want it not to end well. They want bloodshed of their “own” so as to have martyrs, then the behind the scenes (sort of behind) communists and anarchists can wax violent in “righteous” rage. That’s why they’re jumping in front of cars, provoking the police, and in Oakland lied that one of the a-holes who jumped in front of a car was killed when he wasn’t.

These scum bags are indeed bringing little kids to these events. Didn't the phone workers/Union guys do this a month or so ago during that strike? Nice tactic, you creeps.

I also heard on the Hannity radio program, an interview Sean did with some feminazi with a goof ball name...like GrimWoman or something like that...She was squaking about the sexual assaults at the park. Sean asked her why she would put her 8 year old daughter in this kind of situation. Her answer, in a nutshell: Men are evil, and about 3/4 of women are raped anyway because men are evil and have power.

He asked her again, why put a little girl in this situation. Same answer in different words.

For the life of me....I just don't get taking an 8 year old girl to a place that might erupt into violence at any time, could be subjected to tear gas or rubber bullets...or worse. Could easily be molested by one of the mother's new “friends”.

The idiocy makes me dizzy. These OWS protests are going to get very bad, very quick. Oakland is a time bomb. The scum in that area need some new stuff at Foot Locker and this will be a way for a fun loot-a-thon. Not going to be good. I keep thinking of the Rodney King riots when I look at Oakland....they are at the tipping point there...Also, a large number of “youths” are violent and hate “the man”. It's going to blow, big time. Then I would guess Chi, Philly, etc.

What a strange time in history we are seeing unfold before our very eyes.

I think you are right from a low-level tactical level (i.e., the street thinking).

I also think that the Brownshirt analogy may fit from a strategic standpoint. As Van Jones said, "Bottom up, top down" -- they want an excuse for a top-down authoritarian clampdown and these people will eventually provide that excuse.

The Occupy crowd is trying to say that you can’t generalize the behavior of this person to the movement; and that if this had happened with a Tea Party activist, we’d be saying you can’t generalize her behavior to the movement.

What these people fail to see is that this behavior is just a step, or natural phase, in the logical progression based on their philosophy and outlook.

It is absolutely consistent with their “good of the collective” approach.

The "common good" was very important to the nazis. The individual was meaningless

The following are some of the planks of the National socialist (Nazi) Party of Germany, adopted in Munich on February 24, 1920:

We ask that the government undertake the obligation above all of providing citizens with adequate opportunity for employment and earning a living.

The activities of the individual must not be allowed to clash with the interests of the community, but must take place within its confines and be for the good of all.

Therefore, we demand:

an end to the power of the financial interests .

We demand profit sharing in big business.

We demand a broad extension of care for the aged.

We demand. . . the greatest possible consideration of small business in the purchases of the national, state, and municipal governments.

In order to make possible to every capable and industrious [citizen] the attainment of higher education and thus the achievement of a post of leadership, the government must provide an all-around enlargement of our system of public education. . . .

We demand the education at government expense of gifted children of poor parents. . . .

The government must undertake the improvement of public health — by protecting mother and child, by prohibiting child labor — by the greatest possible support for all clubs concerned with the physical education of youth.

We combat the . . . materialistic spirit within and without us, and are convinced that a permanent recovery of our people can only proceed from within on the foundation of " The Common Good Before the Individual Good ."

In that video, the idiot woman who was sitting with the woman whose kids were in the wagon was incensed because the guards were trying to move the wagon out of the way of the scrum at the door. She starts yelling "No justice, no peace" at the guards, when her friends knock her down in their attempt to get back through the door.

Government must provide. And yet the left, for the last 50 years has gotten away with referring to the Nazis as "right-wing."

When the Presidental Campaign officially kicks off, look for these bastards to show uo at and disrupt every Republican gathering. On election day, look for them to show up at and prevent people from entering polling places that have a majority of Republicans registered. Also, don't be surprised when the cops protect them.

This is the same tactics that the National Socialists used in Germany in the 1930s.

The left has rewritten a lot of history. Like their claim that Hitler outlawed unions.

Workers of all lands, unite — to smash the rule of English capitalism! You young upward-striving nations of the earth, combine to annihilate the old English dragon who blocks the treasures of the earth and withholds from you the riches of the world.

-Robert Ley, German Labor Front leader 1933 to 1945.

I think that I have already answered the first question adequately. In the present state of affairs I am convinced that we cannot possibly dispense with the trades unions. On the contrary, they are among the most important institutions in the economic life of the nation. Not only are they important in the sphere of social policy but also, and even more so, in the national political sphere. For when the great masses of a nation see their vital needs satisfied through a just trade unionist movement the stamina of the whole nation in its struggle for existence will be enormously reinforced thereby.

Before everything else, the trades unions are necessary as building stones for the future economic parliament, which will be made up of chambers representing the various professions and occupations.

And it was about one month ago that I was hoping we didn’t end up like Britain or Greece with the riots, but I guess that role gets filled by the “Ocuupiers”.

As for people who think they’re so entitled, there’s this great natural process called “natural selection”. One way or another, it will eventually come, and I would encourage anyone to seriously learn what this real principle is really fast, because I can’t do the babysitting for them when they may really need it.

As for Hitler, I was happy to have one history class in which we really discussed the fascist system of government, in terms of centralized economic planning, militarization, and suppression of free expression, and having their governments ousted from losing a war, the fascist regimes in Germany and Italy were little more than name in terms of actual difference from Soviet Communism. In fact, both would be the epitome of extreme leftism.
