Posted on 11/11/2011 1:09:23 PM PST by geraldmcg
A gigantic python snake in Florida ate a 76-pound adult deer. The 16 foot long Burmese python was one of the largest pythons discovered to date in the sunshine state.
According to Florida Fish and Wildlife Commissions exotic species coordinator Scott Hardin, if these huge snakes arent killed, they could migrate northward. A government sanctioned shotgun blast stopped this snake from its potential journey to Atlanta or the Carolinas.
And just how any inches around did the beasts belly have to measure in order to covert a 76 pound Bambi into breakfast? 44 inches.
Oh, and what is the average weight of a 11-year old boy in America: 76 pounds .something to think about.
One minute, really cool video: http://www.cleantv.com/web/ProgramDetail.aspx?pid=407
Wow. Is this an exotic pet that got loose? That’s massive.
I bet it cost a lotta doe
“I bet it cost a lotta doe”
Naw, just a buck....
No skin in this...
They are reproducing in the everglades like crazy. Supposedly they came from a research lab destroyed in a hurricane.

NO! They came from the Walt Disney propagandized “no kill” do-gooder snake fanciers. Bert the snake was cool when he was a little guy eating a mouse or two a week, but when he moved into chickens and took up half the patio, it was time for a “Born Free” replay. Dumb a$$es.
Now, that havin been said, some years ago a friend saw a cobra crossing Loop Road near 40-mile bend on the Tamiami Trail. That coulda been from Bill Haas’ old Miami Serpentarium.
one of those threads that is NOT better with pictures!
During mating season they’re under a buck.
Oh yeah, and one other thing - the Gummn’t has spent so many years running civilians off “the Gummn’t’s land” that these things can grow unmolested. How about opening up the ‘Glades and putting a $50 bounty on these snakes and see what happens?
At $100-$200 for large snakes, it may be enough of an incentive in this economy to turn ol’ Bert into doggie chow.
The videos over at cleantv seem to suck. They dont show actual video of the events they talk about. Just a moontage of still photos, many of which have nothing to do with the events at hand.
This story is at least a week old.
If they put a bounty on the damned things and get out of the way there are plenty of swamp running Floridans qualified to handle this, for a lot less money.
His Aunt Ler will be mad. His Uncle, not so much.
This is devastating news — the 76 pound deer was supposed to lead the big parade.
Huh? Derly looked great in a thong...
*lip-smacking* — that was practice for a 190 or so pound shark.
See, since there’s nothing to me I am safe!
Let me know if you need any help, BQ (LOL)
I was JUST going to write that Darks killed the thread! LOL
*setting up target with a big fin*
He almost did; but, the turnip truck finally showed up to save it. rofl
woo hoo.......it should be easy. He's like a duck out of water. :)
(our secret lol)
*pow, pow*!!!! *pop, pop* *bang bang*
Sharky started this, blaming the women for everything, then, as per usual, slimes away, munching on tourists as he goes back to his 1% water cave near the One Who Ate a Country....
darks fault. :))
Donde es todo?
and utterly LOL
“The shark is the most ferocious animal in the sea.
El tiburón es el animal más feroz del mar.”
okay; I had surgery last year, two discs replaced in cervical spine just over a year ago. A third one is herniated but wasn’t severe so they left that one alone. Much much better with the pain now.
How are things with you??
what was the name of that cartoon shark? he wasn’t so ferocious, IIRC, just acted like it. LOL
Jabberjaw....that was his name. ROFL !!!
no way, that is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too much computer time??????? What happened???
In support of the Welfare State, I worked 12-18 hrs a day, 6-7 days a week for months, but nothing herniated. Just the usual chronic pain with worse flare-ups than usual.... But now, after three weeks off (vacation and comp), the docs and back workers all say I’m sooooo much better. Too bad I’m dreading Monday :((
Ohhh, Jabberjaw, that is perfect. JJ....
True story: I was hit by a pick up truck (it was not carrying turnips) when I was in my 20’s; never went to doctor (no blood, so, I thought nothing wrong); well....that wasn’t true, had pain all this time, but two years ago it was unbearable and finally went to docs; finally referred to neurosurgeon after nothing worked (except diladid (sp?) (like morphine) at ER).....7 months after the ER visit and all else failed, surgery time.
Sorry for you; I know you’ve been in pain all this time. yuk! Hope you don’t have a flare up....
Which, of course, is true......
128 mph, fish net stockings, topless.
What more can I say?
Cept why is it so early and why do my posts show up as being so much later on the FR timer?
