Sounds to me like the job Hoyer is really concerned about is his!His is the *only* job he is concerned about, make no mistake...

Hoyer, your party controlled both houses of Congress and the Oval Office for two years, and you didn’t come up with a budget — despite being in session that entire time.
You had all the time that the clock could give. Maybe if you actually had a deadline, you would do your job.

I think we care about OUR jobs, not Steny Hoyer’s job. It’s sad that Steny thinks that what congress does is helpful to keep our country working.
Anyway, congress already is a part-time job. Why not pay them accordingly? Many states get by with a part-time legislature, and under the framer’s plan, states have a lot more work to do than the federal government.
To: 5thGenTexan
No coincidence at all. You can look it up. Most of the well run states have part-time legislatures. As an added bonus, the legislators have to spend part of their time working in the real world and living with the laws which they helped create.

Is that the sound of all the little piggies feeding at the tit of the American Taxpayers squealing.
Sounds like music to my ears.

The whole reason we are in this mess is due to 535 corruptocrats meeting on a daily basis to pass endless legislation. They should meet twice a year for 60 days in Washington and then the rest of the time they can use Go To Meeting or some such for their caucuses and committee work.

Think about that. There would be no reason to have a house in DC and you would actually still be a citizen of your state instead of it being a vacation spot from your home in Washington.

They are only working half the time as it is. 1/4 time works for me.

Think about all the tax savings there would be if they had to pay their way with retirement and health care. Take all their “goodies” away too.

Take all their goodies away too.Yes! They wouldn't be so quick to stick us with things like ObamaCare (as they are exempt from it).

Many moons ago I posted one sentence....."Sarah Palin will not run, and she will endorse Governor Perry".
I was right on the button on part one of the sentence. We'll soon see if I'm still on that button regarding the second part.

I saw a post on another website that said "this can be accomplished by removing the air conditioners. Before WWII DC was a ghost town during the summer."
I like this kind of thinking. Watch Congress start freaking out! The "small government" phonies are about to expose themselves to America. Perverts. ;-)

(as they are exempt from it).I think if 0 bummer care is so good, take away their current health care and make them use 0 bummer care for at least five years. Then we'll talk about it for the citizens.
