Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) gave an address in which he says if President Obama's health care law is found unconstitutional, the message will be loud and clear he has pushed unconstitutional impositions. King believes if the Supreme Court upholds 'Obamacare', then Obama's campaign will "sink like a rock."

Hard to say. He could very well use it as a rallying cry to his looter base to say that he needs four more years to put the tie-breaking vote on the Supreme Court.

It is no mystery how everyone except Kennedy is going to vote on this thing.

Wait, this makes it sound like he said that if they ALLOW Obamacare, it will hurt him.

I think that upholding the law will be neutral for Obama but slightly a benefit on the GOP side as they can still run on repealing it.

Striking it down could HELP Obama slightly, as the GOP won't have that issue to run on, however, it may end up a wash due to the implication that he pushed an unconstitutional law.

Interesting take on this...hadn’t looked at it that way.

If it is thrown out..the Dems will spin this as “we tried to reform healthcare, and it wasn’t perfect, but we’ll try again , this time to make it perfect.” that would get them through the election, avoiding the reality that the indv mandate is needed for naionalized healthcare...but so what, that way they think they can at least get Obama back in.

I think he’s right. Obozo loses either way.

If it is upheld, it will be a rallying cry to oust Obama and Obamacare.

If it is nixed. He will look like an overreaching marxist.

Either way he’s screwed.

I agree with you. The damage has been done by them taking the case in the first place since it significantly raises public awareness and a decision could come out next summer in the heat of the campaign season. I think he was counting on the law’s quiet, stepwise implementation and the public’s ability to forget. Now everyone will be reminded about how this has been jammed down our throats despite our objections. Raising the profile is what will harm Obama, not the outcome.

Title is backwards and confused me. Looks like it should be "if USSC fails to uphold".

Anyway, it may not move a lot of votes either way.

If overturned, the liberals will feel cheated and want to keep Obama to allow him more chances to load the court with liberals, if upheld it will make them feel vindicated.

If overturned, the conservatives will feel vindicated, if upheld they will feel cheated and want to take the WH back to allow more chances to load the court with conservatives.

The non-political are the ones that will matter on this. It will be based on how they feel Obamacare helps or hurts their pocketbook directly. That is the messaging challenge we must try to win, win or lose in the USSC.

They have to be dreading the timing of this. No matter what the decision it will be back as the top headline in every media outlet print or online.

Let’s see now. If mandate buying from private insurance is unconstitutional, then the door is opened wider for the public option single payer. Who knew?

If it is nixed. He will look like an overreaching marxist.

Not to mention, an incompetent and poor decision-maker who used his Congressional majorities to ram oppressive, unvetted, and partisan legislation down the throats of American people.

The GOP can ask, "what would he do with another four years?"

Obama wanted the SCOTUS fight delayed until after the election. He had opportunities to bring it to the SCOTUS now, or continue down the Appeals Court route, and he always chose the Appeals Court route. That the SCOTUS is taking the case and will rule before the election is already a lose for Obama, regardless of the outcome. The majority of Americans oppose ObamaCare. The ruling will only refresh everyone’s memory and rev them up to vote.
